Correct, I just build the modular buildings with an offset of 9 studs, partially on the sidewalks and partially on their original plates, leaving space in the middle for a park. I'll have to find something to put behind the Diner. The advantage of the 9 studs offset is that you can then insert a 16-stud modular between the others (9+9=18), you just have to fill the 2-stud gap with bricks. The raised plate is from the Paradisa range (same for the plate with the shoreline pattern); thanks for the comments ;)

I used mostly such roadplates in my layout. I built the modulars on the sidewalks, to save space, as that allows me to put more building in total. More pictures in my thread: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/156427-my-city-layout-dark-brick-city/ For ideas on how to join these with the modern plates, I used a 7-stud-sidewalk plate for the junction of the 90s Octan station, even if not perfect it is already better than the 9-stud ones; For the modern road plates maybe you could do what I did here, with the wedge plates:

As planned since long time, I recently modified the set 3661 to use it as a small corner building (approx. 16x32 corner modular), keeping space for a real full-size modular between that small building and the Corner Café that I moved since the last posted pictures; To finish it I'll have to add this part to the bottom of the corner, via a future BL or B&P order. The inside is similar to the original set:

Do you think that this garage would look good with a red floor instead of the tan floor? I ask that because I'm planning to put it in my city where the Palace Cinema was. As I had a spare red baseplate, I already moved the Cinema to its new location, on the other red plate. And now I'm wondering if I should replace the red plate by the tan one provided with the set. I think that red may work for a garage, as sometimes these have some reddish cement ground (though that it is more like a sand-red than a bright red). An alternative would be a 16x32 DBG + a 16x32 green ; most of the garage would be on the DBG but a 7-stud green strip would remain on the left, where the stairs are... it may look strange (this offset is due to the fact I build my modulars on the sidewalk of old road plates). On the other hand, the interior is not very visible :)

Indeed, that's nice, I'll maybe add such small truck to my own fishing store (which is unmodified, but included in a layout with a beach around it) Nice additions to the set :)

Nice work :) I did such conversion too, but yours is better

For prize winners, are we supposed to PM CopMike as soon as possible to provide address, like what was done some of the previous years, or de we have to wait the signal for that? edit: that's written at the bottom of https://www.eurobricks.com/sieg/cal/ ; each year I forgot that.

Very nice! It looks really great

Or maybe a color accent; e.g. dark red like the awning of the ground floor?
-
I also find that ok without tiles inside, but they should have at least used half-tiles (new 2x2 triangle) for a better finish, as here there are corners of tiles peeking through the wall.

It looks nice with all these panels; good idea :) I spot a lost/fallen tile on the ground in the last picture

Indeed I easily recognize the location but no idea of what is that event

Selected on day 5, at least not too much waiting before knowing if I'm selected or not :) Thanks for organizing that contest/raffle :)

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
antp replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
To generate discussions without having a full leak they could have posted a closeup picture showing only a very small part, like what they did for this year's winter village set :) -

Didn't that start with the Twitter post mentioning "the sound of the police"? -
I only bought one set. The part with the large blue windows was mostly built with the original set, I didn't have to add so many parts. I used my own brick for the added part on the side and the more elaborate roof. For the extra roof I bought four windows on Bricklink and completed the rest with my bricks.

I added a new floor to the hospital: Four years ago I bought the set https://brickset.com/sets/21110-1/Research-Institute which I still hadn't opened yet, so I used to to fill that new empty floor: Don't ask me why there is a dinosaur skeleton in an hospital ; I'll probably move that later to another building I have to build near the Ghostbusters HQ.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
antp replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I posted that in the thread about my city/train layout: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/156427-my-city-layout-dark-brick-city/&do=findComment&comment=3018803 (and I have new pics to post there, since I added a floor to it) And someone else also made a modularized version: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/167872-modular-60204-hospital/ -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Indeed they look way too small compared to the modulars, but not a reason to stop doing them: as said above, they were very good "parts packs" for buildings. The current Hospital however looks good between the modulars with not too many changes -
sorry! question about 60197 and creator expert's building

City & Expert trains had about the same size, as they share the same rails. the difference is rather in the details. If there is a City train that you like, no need to wait for an Expert one ;) -
At Lille they often have good parts, better than some other store, but indeed here there were more than usual :D I even forgot two: Jumper plate in dark tan Brick 1x1 with stud on 1 side in sand green (the one previously seen in New York has studs on 2 side, if I'm right)
