Yes, I have a friend working that way for quality control, testing products bought randomly everywhere in Europe, hence why I thought about that ;)

Last weekend I finally build my Parisian Restaurant (that I bought the weekend before). I noticed two errors in the instructions (not a big deal though), not sure if they were mentioned as I didn't read very carefully the topics to not spoil the joy of discovering all the details while building the set. But I quickly read the least pages and didn't find info about these errors. 1. The "fence" part is different The instructions use http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=30055 but I got the newer http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=15332 Not uncommon when small changes occur in parts molds, but usually they are less noticeable in instructions. 2. A 1x1 brick seems missing from the "step inventory" In the right image there were four olive 1x1 bricks added (compared to the left one), but only three were mentioned in the inventory of that 6th step. None was missing at the end of the build, fortunately.

Indeed, the switching points may be a probem. The Maersk train for example couldn't pass them properly. But the rest of the track (straight/curve/crossing) works fine. I tested that with the Maersk & Horizon Express last year :

Possibly some control quality: buying from various places on various market random products. I've read somewhere that it happened that TLG employees buy from BL parts that are out of production if they need these, but it is not the case here.

Impressive. Nice to see a landmark that I see in real from time to time :) (from outside only, I just pass there, as I live in Brussels) It is sad that it was not yet at the exhibition when I visited it. It would have make the high entrance price much more worth it!

I think that these other sites started to make color lists and parts database before Lego used their names in public, so they didn't have any official basis except the part numbers which were molded under the bricks.

Bricks cracking... just from being connected to one another?
antp replied to Endgame's topic in General LEGO Discussion
They produce more than one part per mold. When I was kid the 1x1 round plates always came by 2, attached (like the flowers which are attached by 4). So we always got an even number of these, even if the set required an odd number. -
The Peeron table is maybe not fully up-to-date. It lists the ParaPink (the pink from Paradisa sets in the 90s) as Bricklink's Light Pink, but Bricklink actually lists ParaPink as regular Pink (which is to me an error from Bricklink, ParaPink and Pink are different colors, former one has a little "yellow" in it, like the old Gray vs the Light Bluish Gray). And both are different from the current Bright Pink.

Bricks cracking... just from being connected to one another?

Indeed headlight brick itself tended to crack when playing, not only the headlight plate on it, I forgot that one in my comment -
Indeed on some points it does not match. However the tires seem to be those from the official set.

For easily sorting these without natural light, the light on my Lego desk is a Philips "Daylight" bulb, as it produce a white light (unlike the common ones which produce a yellowish light, making old & new grey difficult to distinct). As I sort by color before part type, I only have the problem at sorting time, and not once stored.

http://artifexcreation.com/tumbler ? The official set seems closer (and more logical to be found in a movie)

From the PAB wall in Lille (France) : - black wings (L & R), 1x and 2x columns, trans-clear panels, 2x2 tiles (sadly only in grey, I need white ones, I'll have to buy them on the site), bamboo leaves, brown plates 1x2 & 1x3 - arches + some other things, 1x2 medium blue, some various transparent things, 1x2 and corner in dark grey, 1x2 black with stripes, 1x1 round plates trans-yellow - corner plates tan, log 1x2 tan & brown, 1x2 dark red, plates 1x2 lavender, 1x4 pink, 1x1 rond plates purple

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
antp replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
As the movie is CGI made to look like stop-motion, there is no movie prop used for filming.- 2,626 replies

An internet tale Winchester/Shaun of the Dead project on CUUSOO
antp replied to Yatkuu's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Sorry for digging this old thread. For those who like Lego and Shaun of the Dead, today's t-shirt on TeeFury features both: http://www.teefury.com/ It is valid only one day (9h45 left when I post this). Note: I am not involved with this, I do not gain anything, I just post that in case other people are interested. -
In the Australian short film "Lichen", Batman's Tumber is seen : I suppose it comes from the set 7888 ? http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=7888-1 Robin is also seen, but it comes from another set then:

At least two :D since the tube inside the brick is sometimes hollowed (but not always, even on recent sets)

Bricks cracking... just from being connected to one another?
antp replied to Endgame's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I got several cracked trans-red plates & tiles. But as they are not ABS, and also were used for playing (as cars taillights, and cars used to often have crashes ), it is maybe not abnormal. In plain colors, I got a major broken one: It is a part from the late 70s / early 80s. It disintegrated when I separated it from other plates using the brick separator. -
Why are people fighting to pay more than it is worth?
antp replied to Vee's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I remember in 2008 when Corner Café was still available on Lego S@H it was already selling on Ebay for more than the retail value, probably because at that time not many people knew that Lego was selling sets directly (and back then in Belgium that set wasn't available elsewhere than on S@H). -
Transparent ones yes (clear/yellow/red seen in stores), but I do not recall having seen other ones mentioned.

This seems to be an old thread resurrected, but there is already another thread dedicated to the pick-a-brick cups: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=27795&st=0

Nice one I like auto transporters :)

When I was kid my father bought three (then later a 4th) boxes originally made for storing tools, screws, etc. These are the four ones seen on the floor in the middle of this photo: http://antp.be/temp/lego/P1090981.jpg (containing orange, lime, brow, tan) Later these were expanded with the green ones seen on the right (contaning white bricks). (and I still wonder how I could have so few Lego back then to have them fit in these, and still feel to have a lot of Lego)
