Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
antp replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
They did, it was the Market Street :D Maybe it will happen again via Cuusoo/Ideas... -
Nice build! (but I'm not really fond of painting parts...)

Nice building, I like the color theme, these dark + brownish colors stand out well in the snow
-
I am not sure the white was a very good choice here due to all the white parts already used for the snow, but others colors didn't go well with the azure, and I wanted to use that one to change from the usual colors. :D Thanks for the comments!

Thanks :) Usually not: the other builds of my MOCpage were quickly dismantled after photos, except the fire truck made for the fire brigade and the yellow Renault 17 that I made for a previous contest: I'll probably keep these some time, until I really need parts from them. The apartment will most likely stay built (and updated), until I move to somewhere else ;)

Thanks for the nice comments :)

Hello, The title may sound weird, but I wanted to make a car parking lot and I had a thought: for the whole rest of the year, Santa has to store his sleigh somewhere. He can't just keep it parked in the street or in the garden. So in December, it is time for him to take the sleigh out of his garage: (click for larger version) One of the elves helped sweeping the snow for the tow truck. Aerial view: (click for larger version) Cars full of snow parked there: (click for larger version) And when you have a convertible, better not forget putting the top: Q&A: Why is the sleigh so badly designed? -> I don't know how to make something like that correctly, I wanted to use the one from the set 10245 "Santa's Workshop", but it has been forbidden in the contest rules The tow truck looks quite familiar, is it just me? -> Indeed, I originally planned to use 60017 "Flatbed Truck", but for the same reason as above I had to replace it, so I made one with colors more in the theme, but I was influenced for the basis. It looks really great :) For the buildings, in this case the non matching colors of bricls is nice. Is there a mix of dark red, brown and dark orange? Or just one or two of the colors but with a lot of color "problems"?

GG - I like the style and especially the color. I regret not buying a second one when it was discounted on Amazon years ago PS - nice little buildings, fit well at the side of another more special, and I remember enjoying building them CC - one of the few first sets I bought when exiting my dark age :) PR - nice details but I'm not sure I like so much the color GE - looks nice but I find the tan color a little boring PC - nothing special to say, though that I bought a second one for parts when it was discounted below 100€, and possibly doing a MOD MS - Bought at the same time as CC, if compared to the others it should go at the end of the list but in the context of a few years ago I do not find that it deserves the last place FB - I hesitated to buy it at first (but now I am happy to have it, as I have the whole modular series), some parts are nice, but there are some things I like less TH - I like the color (I bought a second one for parts when discounted on Amazon) and the interior is nice but it looks at the same time too small for its kind of building but too big and "blocky" for display among the other ones I checked afterwards with what I posted on another forum last year: it is consistent, I made the same list. I simply added PR to it.

Green 32x32 Baseplates Sold Out S@H
antp replied to KringlesBricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It is the green plate which is being rebranded, the blue one is not in the 2015 catalog. cf p 24 of http://catalogs.lego.com/BrandCatalog/de_de/1HY2015/ Maybe it will still be available for LUG's bulk orders though? -
The green is still there

Either they are short on staff (as B&P and PaB are processed manually) or they need to make changes/upgrades in their system, requiring to deactivate the whole thing while doing the changes.
-
Indeed, Architecture sets and modular buildings are missing as well. Strange there isn't at least a page to mention the existence of exclusive models available from the shop and stores.
-
Yes, cf pics here: http://huckfinn-lego.com/?pid=41536425
-
In plain natural light or on photos with flash, the difference is quite noticeable. Under yellowish lamps however, then it looks similar.
-
Really nice. I like the car park part (but the rest of the building is really well made too)
-
That's annoying for me: my creation uses the sleigh from the latest winter village set, as well as a city vehicle. I was going to post my pics now, but then I'll have to replace the vehicles and re-make pictures :/ edit: so I started rebuilding my own vehicles... it is probably better that way anyway

I find sad that updates on Peeron stopped. I liked how you could easily see which brick you had and from which set when you checked a particular part, kind of cross linking between Bricklink's inventory and Brickset's owned sets. Rebrickable can do that too, but I find it less practical.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
antp replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I do not think they sell at that price: they are just available, but no-one buys them. The real price is the price at which things get sold. For that, Bricklink is a better guide than Ebay. In the last 6 months, the Market Street was sold 13 times with an average price a little under 1000 €: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?S=10190-1 -
1x1 trans-clear round plates? I hope I'll find these around here, as I do not have many of these (unlike the other variants previously found in PaB)

Printed vs. Stickered Bricks - some data
antp replied to 62Bricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Indeed, I do not know why I remembered stickers in 60s sets: the sets I had in mind were from the 70s. But so on the graph the red line is actually showing stickers+printed (sum of both series). -
Printed vs. Stickered Bricks - some data
antp replied to 62Bricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
So for the 50s/60s there were exactly the same amount of printed vs stickers? (as there were clearly many stickers back then too, not only printed bricks) -
An unfortunately this time in France it is at the same price as Belgium and Netherlands; previously they often had sets 10 € cheaper (and so I could go to the Lille Lego Store to buy it)
-
You mean the bricks in bottom right ? These are indeed LBG (and black), but it is the 1x2 brick with grille: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2877 (the quality of my photo isn't very good)
-
From Lille (France) store: Nothing new, I think all has already been spotted in other stores previously. Or maybe the 2x2 LBG slopes? (some time ago I found 2x4s, that's a nice complement then). There weren't tan tiles unfortunately (as many others found these in other stores).
