It's just out of ordinary paper and the 2 sides are glued with Pritt. The "trick" to make it look realistic is to bent the flags a few times directly after you put the 2 sides together. This way it will look natural (like it was waving in the wind).

I like the lifting-arm you see in this picture. I was just thinking of making one myself, and this is a great inspiration. Isn't it a problem that the long boat is in font of the windows of the cabin. Well , as long as the captain doesn't complain ;-) .

That's correct Mr. Z. I know that 95% of the ships use a hinge to get this effect (including the official ships). But I've never been completely satisfied with how this looks. So I have been experimenting a bit and this is the result.

I would be very happy if TLC did that, but I don't think they will. If we want to see zulu-armies, colonial armies, ... then we'll have to make them ourselves.

I got this set for my birthday (many years ago). It is disassembled, but I still have all the parts and the instruction. Unfortunately all the boxes of those sets from my youth are gone... About the oldest set I ever "found" in a story. That must be the Galaxy Explorer. I was only 4 or 5 year old at the time. I can't remember if I was with my mother in the story when she bought it.

I think I like this one better than the original ship. Maybe a stupid question, but are those grey space minifigs custom? I can't find them on BL. Here's a picture of the original ship for comparison.
