I don't mean Lego building techniques but real-life building techniques. For example, the special "Pentagonal"-technique that Vauban developed to build fortresses:

I'm happy to see you've build a second ship Mr. Exo Attack! I have always been a fan of these white/blue hulls. The ship is now part of the Index: Ships MOCs
-
Now it is part of the Wikipedia Links! I've added an entire new category: "Buildings and Building Techniques"
-
Thanks Mr. P. *y* I think I'll make you my personal assistant X-D I realized there was no category at this moment to put the semaphore station, so I added a new one: Buildings and Building Techniques. And because 1 entry would look a bit stupid, I did some searching on wikipedia to find more links for this category.

Mr. Phes and Tedbeard managed to keep this thread going for 1 page before you posted your pictures. They should really get their own talk show ... I didn't know you had so many soldiers! You did a good job extending the Eldorado fortress. Looking forward to see those updated pictures.
-
I was talking about your Lego version (Mr. Norrington), not you Thomas ;-) By the looks of your avatar, he seems to be British.
-
I was on a holiday when this ship was posted, so I kinda missed it... Well, it's never too late! This is a big improvement from the original design. Let's say that the ship has grown up and is now ready to rule the oceans. How are you doing with those sails oo7? Any progress?
-
That's a very decent ship Mr. Norrington! I like the colors, they go well together. The figurehead looks good. The way you have made the access to the gundeck is also one of my favorite details of this ship. I'm looking forward seeing the final result. Do you have some pictures of the gundeck? The pictures are a bit too big (takes rather long to view them on your Brickshelf). Might I suggest you have a look at the Batch Image Resize tutorial of Mr. Phes?
-
Looks like you're building skills have improved a lot oo7. This is an excelent ship and it deserves it's own place in the index. You should really open a discussion thread for this beauty!
-
Very nice start Mr. Tiber. I see you've put 2 pirates in your Inn. Are you sure this is in the right forum ;-)
-
Apparently these stations were used a lot in the previous centuries for communication. Here is an example code used for naval purposes:

Only a beating for spamming my beautiful thread? You English are really too soft Mr. Norrington. I'll show you what we did with Brutax X-D
-
Brutax has been banned! That will teach him what happens if he puts garbage in my thread :skel1: Mr. Phes made it visible again to show to the world what we do with spammers ;-) Back on topic, the ship has temporary sails out of normal paper. I just wanted to see how it all looks and get the right form for each sail. I'll be taking some pictures soon, so I can get some feedback before making the definitive sails.

The new fortress look incredible. And it is not even finished... This is a valid remark indeed. The view of the governor standing on his balcony is a bit blocked by the big tower of the new fortress.
-
Very interesting to see something like this. Did you base the messaging system on a picture of a real semaphore station? The onces I have seen all had some sort of pile on the roof for conveying the messages. Something like this:

It's not big, but very inventive. Amazing how real this looks. If I would be a city builder, I would certainly build this little tractor.

MOC Black Pearl-lite rev2 with building INSTRUCTIONS!!!
Bonaparte replied to RTN LNA's topic in Pirate MOCs
Hi Kurt, I already borrowed some idea's from your MOC ships, but I never rebuild a MOC completely. So for me, instructions are useful to see some details on how you have done things. Also, a month is not a big period of time when you are talking about MOCs. I'm already working on my ship (L'Orient) for about 6 months, so it might be very possible that people will use your instructions in the future (when their current projects are finished). -
Impressive! Do I need to write more? That 1 word says it all.
-
I didn't say they are going to attack someone. I just have a feeling they are gonna be attacked. They should cover the Jolly Rogers while they still can. Can't say I didn't warn them...
-
If I was a smart pirate, and had to be on such a small and defenseless raft, I would remove the Jolly Rogers :-D Who are they going to attack with that raft anyway... now they are giving every ship which passes a reason to blow their little raft to pieces.

I must be drunk... I'm seeing things double :S -
Looking good Mr. Tiber! But it would be helpful to make another picture so we can better see the tumblehome-effect. Maybe a picture along the side of the ship, taken from the stern or bow.

Thanks! It will be a 2 year project. Oh no, that won't have any influence on my posting. As you said, important things go first :-D Tnx, I'm experimenting a bit with Paint Shop Pro. If I find a better background, I might change it again. Now it looks a bit too much like Norringtons avatar X-D -

I have started with the construction of my house, so that's were all my money is going from now on. Normally I would have ordered the Cafe's Corner already, but now I'm doubting if I want to spend the money at this moment. Not being able to buy everything at once also has its benefits. When you can buy it eventually, you will enjoy it even more! -
Like any good Emperor would do, I've just invited myself X-D
