  1. Has anybody had any luck finding "LEGO Technic" branded items for sale? I am talking hats, mugs, drink bottles, t-shirts, that sort of thing. I can find plenty of "LEGO" items but nothing Technic related. I have kept a close eye on eBay and general searching online but nothing much comes up.
  2. That looks like a great event, thanks for sharing the photos.
  3. I will be waiting until I see 42030 in action and see what mods I can do to it.
  4. That looks like a good start, any progress on it?
  5. Well done :) My latest pick ups (In Australian dollars): 8110 Unimog U400 $269.00 42008 Service Truck $75.00 42024 Container truck $84.55
  6. This sounds like a great idea and something I have thought about myself in the past, good luck with it and keep us updated on your progress.
  7. I have just seen this, very well done to build it in such a small scale. I have thoughts to do the same with the Unimog.
  8. I saw this set built a couple of weekends ago as the B model and I thought it looked fairly good, not really in my theme so not something I will buy for my self.
  9. Below are some photos from Brixhibition Launceston 2014 which was held two weekends ago. I was one of the organisers for this so didn't have my own display this time. These photos were mostly taken during the set up day / night, most are Technic related plus some general event photos. http://www.brickarchitecture.com.au/index.html
  10. I am just about to start building this B model later in the week. Has anybody done any modifications / improvements to this set which I should look at before building it? I have some ideas on ways to improve it but would love to know other peoples experiences first.
  11. I got 42024 and 42008 this week.
  12. I have owned both in the past. 8043 looks "cool" and as a display piece / showing off to people most people love it and are amazed by it. 8110 is my number 1 set, it has a wider range of parts and is a good base for adding new features / attachments if you want (I am right in to this). It is also a good set for modifying / improving if you want. It can also be fairly easily motorized for drive and steering.
  13. You have done an amazing job with this, I am very impressed.
  14. Some good suggestions in this thread, I hope to build mine soon and add my own improvements.
  15. I started with classic city and then moved on to Technic by the time I was 8.
  16. I have recently designed and built a loading chute attachment to work with the Unimog U400 (set 8110). I have some ideas for other attachments when I will be designing and building when I have time to do this. The loading chute idea came about from something I saw in use for loading fire wood a few weeks ago. I tracked down some photos and information online and used this as the basis for designing and building this. It runs off the rear PTO of the Unimog and attaches to one of the standard mounting points. To start with it was running using the 1:1 gear ratio from the rear PTO, this was not fast enough to force the pieces up the chute and out the top so I increased to to a 1:3 ratio using a 24 tooth driver and a 8 tooth follower, after some refining of the design and many test runs I have an end result I am happy with. More photos and a video of this in use can be found on my blog: http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/2014/05/moc-loading-chute-for-unimog-u400-set.html
  17. That looks very well designed and built.
  18. Well I managed to fix the problem my gearing up after the rear PTO, I hope to have my video / photos and a write up on this posted in the next few days.
