  1. Trading vessels are less heavily armed, as you probably well know. I'm no expert but I'd say 10 guns would be appropriate on the upper deck, leaving the deck below to be filled with cargo.
  2. Looks like a large merchant ship @Mesabi, maybe a galleon? I wouldn't limit yourself to red/white/black in the future. Yes, it's our colours, but I'm using yellow and black like Oleon (and it's historical to Britain) and plenty of other Corries use a variety of different colours.
  3. Brilliant scene! I love the architecture and minifigure posing. There goes my bonus for most like Weelond buildings
  4. @Drunknok good questions though I am unsure of the answers. I look forward to seeing the response the more knowledgeable players give
  5. Thanks for the comments, sir. I ran out of those 1x4 and 1x2 'wooden' bricks thus preventing me from making it any bigger/completing the sides. Shhhh... don't let them we are slowly going to force them onto a reserve soon!
  6. As much as I love this point of reference, why stop at plants? An index of animal husbandry would also be very useful. Maybe even an index of factory builds, commercial and artisan properties. I am not suggesting catagorise every single BotBS build in this one post but that would be very useful to use as inspiration/decision-making when building.
  7. A thrilling read from start to finish, not sure of the validity of some of the sources though! I commend you people on your writing and look forward to the next edition!
  8. Simple yet effective! I like the colour choice in the buildings.
  9. [Example of a small potato plantation] Name: Potato (Solanum tuberosum) IC background: The Potato has a mostly unknown background. Thought to have been brought over from natives in the Easter Islands in the very early colonial period, potatoes have become the staple diet of many countries, most notably Corrington. A prominent family in the world of potatoes is Clan Spud, of course, 'spud' being vernacular for 'potato'. This Northern-dwelling clan in Corrington have built up estates of potato farms and are now seeking to expand these plots Eastwards in the name of Her Majesty. OOC background: The potato is a starchy, tuberous crop from the perennial nightshade Solanum tuberosum. The word "potato" may refer either to the plant itself or to the edible tuber. In the Andes, where the species is indigenous, some other closely related species are cultivated. Potatoes were introduced to Europe in the second half of the 16th century by the Spanish. In 1845, a plant disease known as late blight, caused by the fungus-like oomycete Phytophthora infestans, spread rapidly through the poorer communities of western Ireland as well as parts of the Scottish Highlands, resulting in the crop failures that led to the Great Irish Famine(from Wikipedia). Builds in BoBS; Arlinsport Potato Plantation
  10. Thanks! Us Corries believe in the preservation of indigenous people as much as possible! Thank you, I'm glad you like it!
  11. I'm loving the different builds of sugar cane everyone is using, I may need to join in some time. I like the variation of colours on the building and roof and the figure posing is great. Well thought out story too, well done!
  12. Thanks, your feedback is very much appreciated! The figure is inspired from 18th Scottish officers, even although the kilt is 19th century it helps define the character. Also, the Lego tartan is used in the Clan Spud emblem.
  13. Very nice build. Function over form I say, nothing wrong with ugly if it works!
  14. Thanks, I had thought about the build for some time, allowing me to invent new usage for some parts!
  15. Great line-up! My favourite has to be that Corrington Lawyer, simply fabulous!
  16. Small Licensed Artisan: Tomahawk Makers Longhouse
  17. Small Licensed Artisan (Footprint: 512 studs) in Elizabethville Spud has a place in his heart for tribal people, after all, he is descended from a clan spanning many centuries back in the Old World. With the new commission by @SilentWolf to build an artisan building in Elizabethville, Spud funded the local indigenous people to craft their own weapons. Spud recalled how his people's weapons were restricted back in history and this ended up in many Spud clan deaths. Although, the natives seem to be keen on using these axes for hunting wildlife on the plains. As Spud inspected the new build he saw a native chopping wood. This would provide the shafts for the tomahawks. Alongside Spud was Marcus Blackburn, an expert in translating tribal tongues and local cultures. A very astute man educated in Corrington Inside the longhouse was a man and woman working diligently. The woman carved the sticks from the barrel into smaller shafts to suit the shape and style of a tomahawk. The man fitted the axe blade onto the shaft. He will then use the grindstone to sharpen the blade. _____ P.S SilentWolf can I get a bonus for building a longhouse?
  18. Thanks! It's a pleasure to represent my nation!
  19. Frederick Spud, leader of Clan Spud and loyal soldier of Her Majesty, I beseech ye fellow countrymen to formally welcome myself into your ranks. I seek not riches or power but I work diligently to honour Corrington, Her Military and my Clan. I was born in the North of the old world where my family have held estates for many years and spread abroad our name to distant lands. Mostly comprised of farming, my home estates are insufficient contributions to this oncoming war. Thus, I boldly go forth into the new worlds to establish trade, production and residences in the name of Her Majesty. Until next time, Chieftain Frederick Spud [My sigfig] [Clan Spud Emblem]
  20. Is this your first property license? If so, then it will be free. I'm sure the game masters will happily change any mistakes
  21. Great build! Check out the 'Build Submittal Form' in the Master Index, under 'Economic Game System Rules (EGS)', to formally register the build as a freebuild. Then, fill out the 'Property License Form' directly below that.
  22. As I said on Flickr, I'll say again here; that yellow is stunning! I love the tiles around the edges, it gives a sturdy feel to the structure. Those tiny 'windows' are great too! Beautiful as always, sir! Psst, is the 3044 supposed to be a 3048 in the right-hand side of the roof?
  23. A very elegant ship in white and gold! Can't wait to see her finished.
  24. Cheers! If it were me in Corrington, I wouldn't throw away such valuable parcels of starch.
