I would rely on Philo's extensive tests of the Lego Power Functions Servo Motor: http://philohome.com...rvo/pfservo.htm . On this Powerfunctions.Lego.com webpage, The Lego Group wrote that "The Servo Motor delivers a maximum torque of 250 mNm (300mA). Without load it rotates with 360 degrees per second. This corresponds to the output turning from center to horizontal position in 0,25 seconds. "The current consumption will depend heavily on the load it is driving. Under normal conditions it can be around 150 mA and it should never exceed 300 mA." Philo wrote that the PF XL-motor rotated at 220 rpm at no load. At 9V, the torque was 14.5 Newton-cm and the current was 0.55 Amp. Its "stalled current" was 1.8 Amps. The Lego Group wrote that it "delivers a maximum torque of 90,4 mNm (406mA). Without load its rotation speed is around 224 rotations per minute." [Very close to Philo's measurements] "The current consumption will depend heavily on the load it is driving. Under normal conditions it can be around 300 mA and it should never exceed 406 mA." This is a bit lower than what Philo measured.

You may have seen the detailed reviews of the upcoming 41999 4x4 Crawler Exclusive Edition Set. Written by rm8, Masked Builder, and Conchas), these reviews may have convinced you whether or not to buy one or more 41999s when available on Shop.Lego.com in August 2013. Only 20,000 have been made. This is a private poll -- your answers cannot be identified as being from you. Please reply in an honest, truthful manner; you can come back later and change your answers if you wish. Thank you.

On this Technic.Lego.com Message Board topic, I finally got an answer from the Message Board Moderator official named WhiteAlligator: Here's the update ... The L Motor and Servo Motor will be available July 9th. Unfortunately we are not sure when the V2 IR Receiver will be available. We apologize for the delay. Of course we are working to get it available as soon as possible.

Lego Technic Figures
DLuders replied to BasOne's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Bring back the Lego Technic Figures! I know that Jonathan_W would like them, to add to the adventures in his Flickr photoset: -
In the USA (at least), those are NOT YET AVAILABLE for individual sale on the Shop.Lego.com webpage for Power Functions elements.

@ rm8: When you were refining your BOSS Crawler design with The Lego Group, did you consider replacing the Differentials with 32072 Knob Wheels? Many owners of the 9398 4x4 Crawler noted that it cliimbs better with Knob Wheels (even if it's only supposed to be driven indoors)....
-
@ rm8: Thanks for your patience; please don't lose any more sleep. I still cannot download the full-size pictures. Maybe your "Download Photo" button is enabled because YOU are the author of that Picasa Web Album. I can view the (undersized) images "Full Screen", but the Lego Element ID numbers are still quite fuzzy. When you have time tomorrow (after you get some rest), could you enable this feature? Thanks....
-
@ rm8: It seems that the "Download Photo" option on your Picasa Web Album webpages is not enabled, so one cannot see the large 3612×2662 pixels images. All one can see are the (undersized) images. Are your photos "protected" in some way?

Please don't stay up too late tonight, Egor, but which web albums can we find the large images? When I click on the Parts List images above (or in your Set Review), the size is exactly the same....
-
Thanks for those Parts List images, Egor, but could you provide a link to LARGER images? The part numbers are very fuzzy when I try to enlarge those pictures -- thanks!
-
@ rm8: Could you post larger images of the 2-page Parts List? Also, do you have a Lego Digital Designer (LDD) .lxf file of your 41999, so that we may possibly "recolor" the upper body shell?
-
Congratulations, Egor, on your great Lego Technic set! There are some nice details in the 41999 BOSS Crawler. What will "Egor Design" think of next?
-
Thanks for the great review, Egor! It must be very satisfying to be the father of this BOSS set. I like the new 6-holed wheels, and all of these Dark Blue parts:

@ MrNumbskull13: Here's a Eurobricks topic on "Posting Deeplinked Pictures from the NEW Flickr" . As far as posting YouTube videos on Eurobricks, Right Click on your YouTube video above and then "Copy Video URL". Paste that URL into your Eurobricks post. The format is like this (NOTE: I have omitted the http://www prefix so that you can see the entire string without it being automatically shortened or hyperlinked in this example): youtube.com/watch?v=E7F4FG9GLGk Note that there is ALWAYS a watch?v= AND a 11-digit alphanumeric code that is unique to your video. Strip off all the extraneous stuff to get your URL down to this basic format, and it will work in Eurobricks every time.

Well, it's now the end of June, and (presumably) TLG's management is home for the weekend -- still no word on WHEN the Power Functions L-Motor, Servo Motor, and v2 Receiver will be available for individual sale. 1) AVCampos (the TechnicBRICKS Lego Ambassador) tried to find out. 2) Lego Technic Designer Grohl (Milan Reindl) tried to find out. 3) I contacted Lego Customer Service -- they did not follow up with my Service Call 033464695A. If 2 x 20,000 Power Functions L-Motors and 20,000 PF Servo Motors were needed for the 41999 Boss Crawler set, why can't TLG say so? What is the new date that these elements will be available for individual sale?

Today on the Technic.Lego.com Designers Blog website , Jeppe Juul Jensen wrote an article about the "Co-Creations Winner Model Box". At the end, he wrote: "The whole package is our tribute to all of you, our amazing builders, fans, and everyone who participated and voted in the competition. We literally couldn’t have done it without you! "Join us next time when Egor [Karshiev, a.k.a. rm8] visits LEGO HQ to pick up the first box from the production line!" [presumably, on or before Monday, July 1, 2013]
