REVIEW: 40084 Exclusive Accessory Pack
Aethersprite replied to ZORK64's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Wow. I didn't expect this set to come with parts other than the brain! The new sword piece in red? A trans fire piece? Two of those beautiful hilt pieces? Sold. I'd buy a ton of these. Unfortunately I don't think my country will be getting a similar promotion, hopefully I'll be able to get it through some other source. -
Question for those who own Dragon Bolt: How well does its brain glow in the dark? How bright is it? I'd ask for pictures, but then I realized glow-in-the-dark things don't show up well in pics.
-
You're so lucky! I highly doubt I'll see the black brain promotion in my country. If I were you, I'd have bought the sets one by one, to get 7 black brains.

So excited for this! Ninjago is one of the 2 Lego themes (other than Bionicle) that for me, have pulled up a really interesting and engaging storyline. Would be a pity if it was live-action though, I do hope it's animated! Can't wait to see more news (and sets) on the Ninjago movie!

Legends of Chima 2013 (Action Figures)
Aethersprite replied to DarkSurgeXL's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Initially I tried shortening his neck by a module like it was in the prelims, but his back neck armour stuck out too much it didn't look good. I've also tried adding one of those bone pieces with 2 sockets on both sides (I'm using my mobile now so I can't post a link to it) to link the neck bone pieces together, but it didn't look good as well. I'm still looking for a simple yet effective solution, anyone with ideas? -
Uhh... Those are kind of a stretch. The only one I agree with is Xplode looking like the Piraka, but that's it. Even though the 1.0 wave may not be my favourite, but I definitely agree that they were pretty unique. It'd be cool to see some of them revamped using the 2.0 system, especially Von.

I'm really in love with Worriz. Cragger's been a bit disappointing due to the gaping holes in his neck and back. Thanks for your feedback, I think I'll pick Razar up if I have spare cash after wave 2 of Brain Attack hits my country! I don't think they're translucent. I have Cragger and Worriz, and their blades appear solid to me. Seems to me that the reason why they appear translucent is because they're thin, so light would pass through them more easily. -
I think he's referring to a "Best of 1.0" wave, since the first wave is the only one not done in the new ball joint system. We could have, say, a revamped Von Nebula! What happened to all the talk about him being the big bad returning?

Legends of Chima 2013 (Action Figures)
Aethersprite replied to DarkSurgeXL's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I was disappointed they changed the blades at first, but after getting the set in hand, I must say the current blade pieces work rather well. I'm still on the fence about whether to get Razar - I don't MOC much, so I won't be using him for parts. I'll only get him if I really like his design - but the only thing that stands out on him are his wings. Would anyone recommend getting him? -
Hero Factory Month - Index and Discussion
Aethersprite replied to Brickthing's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I'm not much of a MOCist so I probably won't be participating in any of the contests, but I'm glad to see HF is finally getting the spotlight! Here's to a fantastic HF Month! -
LegoJang has a review up as well: Way more bearable than YCF, if you ask me.

The plastic bending itself aside - any ideas on how to straighten the piece?
-
Posted this in the Chima thread (which got ignored) but I guess it's relevant to HF as well, so here goes. I just bought Worriz last weekend - and found that the new blade piece (Frost Beast's sword) was slightly bent to the side. Anyway, off I go to my army camp, and I just got home today after 5 days... Only to find that the blade piece has been even further bent, without me doing anything to it. Has anyone encountered this? Is there a way to bend the piece straight?

I'm talking about pictorial reviews here on EB! There are plenty of video reviews on YouTube already, I just prefer pictorial ones.
-
Kinda odd that we're seeing less and less reviews here on EB lately - will anyone other than ZORK be doing reviews of the Chima/HF summer sets?

Legends of Chima 2013 (Action Figures)
Aethersprite replied to DarkSurgeXL's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Wait, they bend back into shape by themselves? Sounds too good to be true. -
Sorry for the late reply, but anyway - the prelim pics showed Cragger using a bone piece one length shorter than the one used in the final set. I'm referring to the piece used as the forearms for some of the 2.0 Heroes like Stormer and Surge. The Chima Ultrabuilds just hit my country, I'm hoping to get Cragger soon!

I just got myself Worriz yesterday. Is there any way to bend the new blade piece back into its straight position? -

After watching Jang's review of Cragger, I think I'm going to swap out his body skeleton piece for the shorter version. Hopefully it'll solve the problem of the long neck and the gaps along the neck area. -

Wow. Glad they actually bothered to add back armour. Also, nice to see that the chest armour is stickered like Stormer XL. -
Thanks for the review! Undoubtedly my favourite of the Chima Ultrabuilds, and this review just reinforces my view. From your review, it seems that his neck is a little too long, resulting in some awkward poses. I'm planning to shorten his neck to how it was in the prelim photo. Can't wait to get this set!

Any Lego.com cache pics for HF?

Legends of Chima 2013 (Action Figures)
Aethersprite replied to DarkSurgeXL's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I agree, Razar looks the most cohesive of them all. His weapon needs some work, though. Cragger, Razar, and Worriz are instabuys for me. Still on the fence on Gorzan, will wait for reviews to see how his torso is assembled. Anyway, with the way the paws of Laval, Worriz and Gorzan are constructed, it's going to be a little hard to put them in poses other than straight up, since there isn't going to be any wrist articulation. Wonder how that's going to work out. -
Surge is definitely his best iteration, but I like Evo and Stormer's Breakout forms better.

I wasn't sure where to post this - but anyone having trouble accessing BZP's news stories? I wanted to check out their Toy Fair pics for the summer HF sets, but I got a page saying I wasn't allowed to view it. I'm not a BZP member, by the way.
