Well done indeed. If I understand correctly the steering system is similar to the one the big brother uses, just smaller?

Powered Up motors: L vs. XL
Zerobricks replied to FoxOne's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yes, Lego hubs allow power, speed and angle regulation. We are planning to add speed regulation in the BuWizz app too, would be useful for models where constant speed is required. Yes, the motor can regulate speed only up to it's maximum power, anything more and well... It can't do more than full power. -
Powered Up motors: L vs. XL

They can do basically anything you program them to do. That is why there are so many paramerters available in BuWizz app for center steering for example. Another example if you set constant SPEED mode, the controller will adjust PWM to hold that speed regardless of the load. -
Powered Up motors: L vs. XL

The SPEED or SERVO modes are controlled by the hub, not by the motor. Motor only reports the position back. And for all modes you need to use PWM. -
Powered Up motors: L vs. XL
Zerobricks replied to FoxOne's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
XL motor also has a flat motor with a larger rotor which contributes to the higher intertia. -
That's a good mod and I'm surprised TLG didn't use the same setup for this and the Stig. But on the other hand we wouldn't get the new diffs if they did...

I think that's one of the rare times the cam piece has been used in it's intended way, hehe. -
42114 will not drive forward

Check the differentials orientations -
BuWizz 2.0 uses 2 lithium cells in parallel with a DC/DC converter, the output voltage voltages is kept stable depending on the speed mode: SLOW: 5.2 V NORMAL: 7.2 V FAST: 9.2 V LUDICROUS: 11.2 V Buwizz 3.0 uses a 3S battery pack (3 batteris in a series) so the voltage is between 12,5 V when full and around 11 V when empty. It's also the reason why speed modes don't work on BuWizz 3.0. One more note. Most Lego motors are internally actually a 12 V design, which are used at 9 V.

Interesting indeed. Can you do the same for the 1:8 supercars?

It looks good, but mechanically it could be better. the current setup puts a VERY high stress on the central differential, U joints and axle differentials and will caus eyour truck to tilt sideways a lot under load. I would replace the normal hubs with the planetary ones and use 24 tooth gears to drive the central differential. This will reduce the load on the driveline at least 3x times.

I don't know about exact material used or the exact source anymore to be honest but yes, they are changing materials, hence all the recent mould changes.- 5,504 replies

General Part Discussion
Zerobricks replied to Polo-Freak's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
As mentioned before TLG is changing the material of the parts, probably switching to non-oil produced materials. The new material is softer, hence they are redesigning the parts and reinforcing them like the ball joints, closing up the before available pins for bars, etc... I think that's also the reason for the pins generally feelings much softer, less clicky and just more squishy.- 5,504 replies
