You wanted instructions? Here you go! LDD FILE EDIT I dont get it why links wont work... www.brickshelf.com/gallery/zblj/Trial/Beast/beast.lxf Remember the new unimog ball joints are missing and the 1x4 old styled thin liftarsm must be connected to chassis in the center of truck (couldnt in LDD, rather illegal connection) and connect the springs to chassis. WATCH OUT HOW YOU WIRE THE CABLE TO REAR MOTOR. I wired it badly first time artround and janked it, causing the motor to loose contact. It has barely enough room to work, so be carefull, or use an extension cable. Remeber once you click in the hing things on the ends of the axle the wheels hold extremely good, popping them out is very hard but not impossible. -

Wheels are from outdoor challenger: No diffs at all, each axle has pernament drive. Thankies! -
I wanted to upgrade the X truck with smaller, yet more capable power functions. To do this the axles and the body was rebuilt to make the new offroader shorter, lighter and more maneuverable. Now each axle has its own steering motor, which works independently. This allows the truck to drive in almost every direction, EVEN SIDEWAYS. Also the planetary gear train inside the turntables was found to be more efficient than a single tooth gear powering the turntable from inside. Suspesnion was soften up to allow better ariculation and the weight was lowered due usage of rechargable battery boxes (yes two of them). This in combination with IMO the best official offrading wheels reulsted in THE BEAST. No terrain is too tough for this offroader, thanks to its total gear ratio of 1:6,25 from the XL motors. Some railroad tracks... And an uneven 45+ degrees slope The underside showing the linear actuators and the axles. Interesting, this truck has no portal axles, yet there is more than enough room under axles. A mandatory video: I am quite impressed with this truck's power agility and overall performance. It may be one of my slowerer and oddest trucks, but it sure can crawl!

Please share the LXF file, and we will try our best. -
For Legoworld I also built this rather simple model: It features steering via steering wheel or the hidden back axle and suspension. Trying to keep it simple, the suspension uses no springs, but the rubber 1x2 beams. This gives it a nice hard suspesnion while being very sturdy and compact. Thats about it for this simple model.

Minimog
Zerobricks replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Wow, nicw to see it get so popular and already modifyed! As seen by T-Tank you can easily put PF M motor inside. Now here is my suggestion: Put the old 9V battery box out and put two M motors side by side. They can be both used for driving, or one for drive and other for steering. There is much room on the back for a PF battery box -

Now aint that cute!!! Nice use of worm gear to move wings and the rounded bricks for head. About time you get new bricks though, lots of them are fractured.- 777 replies
