Concept Car Hubless Wheels

Great work! But does it support the weight okay, even when you lift the car, or does it simply fall off? -

OMG! Any way you can share the LDD file for some performance testing? -

One question: Can you reute steering from the wheel to the rack via uibversal joints and not 3x 24 tooth gears? Other than thats is awesome! -

Looks good, but i think the tail needs reinfrocments... Try building IRL and you will see what i mean.

Plus the grey unimog hubs arent suitable for these wheels, because the attachment points are totally different. Thanks guys! -

Flying Lego Plane
Zerobricks replied to mikezang's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Okay time for my opinion... I used a single RC motor with zero gears and education blades and IT barely lifted itself with 2x higher voltage. 2x higher voltage means 2x higher current which means 4x the power....So to lift its own weight the motor was using some 24 watts of electrical energy!!! And now you are gonna tell me a single unmofified M motor can lift itself (simillar weight) using all those gears and using only 3 watts of electrical power. -

The joints will survive, because each has only one XL's torque to carry...If they were all connected though and one wheel got stuck....than one poor joint would ahve to survive the power of 8 Xl motors... Anyway here's the progress so far, cant build more untill i get the missing parts. The number of wires is just mindboggling -

Today's progress. The chassis is some 70% complete and I'm waiting for the missing motor, connector and springs in order to finish the truck. The bodywork fits like a glove on the chassis with zero issues. I think the weight will be around 3-4 kg. -

Sure copy, remember I will relase the LDD file after i build the real thing, because there are always some updates while building. -
The setup you described should nate have failed...Proboably some bad gears

There is 1:3 gear reduction, yes. The wheels used are from outdoor challenger set. Steering is usual, gear and rack, but it can also skid steer due to independent motors. The bodywork is done: -
So here' s a little teaser for the upcomming 8x8x8 monster with 8 XL motors!

I see this possible only with a mofified motor...unless gravitational cosntant in china is 10x lower,
