  1. They proboably made it 3L long because if you woul use a 1L long on a 40 tooth gear the bushings needed would get stuck in the gears of the 40 tooth gear.
  2. Didnt you read the review.... I think this set was clearly designed to be motorized, like the other simillar trucks in previous years. I'd give it a 3/5 because while it has some great new parts and colors, its not THAT unique unlike the cargo plane.
  3. I love the new double joiner parts with axles (dkgray) and the new worm gear (also dkgray)....And panels and wheels... So many new parts....and suspension parts...and its only H1? I think this year will be great for new parts....never saw so many new ones at once?
  4. Nice SUV! The suspension uses rubber bands?
  5. I see just one problem with this element... What of someone plugs a motor to it and overloads it? There needs to be current protection, and since LED's use very little current a simple serial resistor would do?
  6. Here's the idea this time with all wheel drive:
  7. Dog frame will be usefull for 90 degrees gearboxes where there is a large chance of bewel gear slipping :)
  8. Its a winner!!! Servo motor + RC motor + LiPo battery is a winning combination! It must awesome to drive! EDIT: I would add a female ball joint connector, so there is no friction pushing down on the drive axle... More speed :)

  10. A nice snowy day in the middle of nowhere is suddenly interrupted by a rumble and a big flash... The first ones to arrive at the mysterious craft crash is also a mysterious all black vehicle... The craft is tied to a trailed and led away to a scret base in nevada near Las Vegas..... It was just a satellite....thats the offical word... The truck in detail: This a specialized truck, made especially for fast, covert operation which involve great speed and lots of pulling power: For maxiumum traction all 12 of the rear wheels are powered: Being low on black budget (part limit) the trailer may not be very high-tech and was originally designed as an airplane wing transporter, hence its massive length: The rear wheels can are pendular, so that they are always equaly loaded: The craft is a 4th generation faster than light tactical unmanned interplanetary weapon platform. Unbeknown to the government this weapon was actually sent to prepare Earth for colonization... It failed due to the high solar winds, which destabilized what we call Alcubierre's negative energy field causing the craft to be ejected from its bubble of space into our where the effect of Earth's gravity caused it to drop down. What the craft would look like when armed: Uncensored video of the cover up cmming next weekend!
  11. I got this idea few days ago while building the monster. I simply made a FWD car, with one motor to power one wheel. The usually negative large pivot point of lego steering wheels was an advantage here, as it allows the wheels to self-steer when they are powered. In order for the car to also drive normally forward i used a rubber brick. This idea allows had advantates: Simpler, more maneuverable models No need for dead weight like steering motor Not so much skid steering as by regular skid steering. Disadvantages: Reverse steering is tricky Very sensitive to bumps - bump steer Needs FWD or AWD? (not tested)
  12. Ackermann is out of question here... Also when steering normally each axle has a different angle, but in crab mode all angles are the same.... You got a pickle here...I cant think of a simple solution besides just making a 4x4 rough terrain crane :)
  13. This is just so awesome! That construction sure is compact!
  14. Yes it can, I didnt fake it...
  15. Yeah nothing like XL motors and some 24 ot 40 tooth gears for the best...skin ripping experience....I cant think what would happen if I gor my finger my newest truck with 4 XL motors... Anyway yeah its may hurt, but I doubt you can really pernamently damage your fingers? Maybe a child yes....but adult...I doubt....Plastic is simply too soft IMO.
  16. So while making the LDD model, I found a way to slightly change the gear ratio to get more speed, because frankly speaking there was enough torque as it was... So the gear ratio changed from 1:5,4 to 1:3,6 Now the monster is slightly faster than 41999, while creating much more torque and being more maneuverable despite the fact it has no diffs. I used a slightly different solution to move the 24 tooth gears half a stud closer to the main drive axle using the thing rod: And the model in LDD: DOWNLOAD LDD FILE: www.brickshelf.com/gallery/zblj/Trial/Monster/monster.lxf
  17. Guys the part holding the A arms of the snow vehicle...I think its a new part with 2 half pins and a central axlehole? Dirty pic:
  18. 16x3 tooth :) thats 48 and you get 1:3 gear taio. Good work need to get some of those power miners parts.
  19. That looks really great and all 3 models are motorized even!
