  1. Power Puller with remote-controlled drive and steering. Two V8 engines power the rear wheels and pull a sledge, which is hidden by all the tyre smoke. It only uses parts from Technic sets. Click here for two more pictures.
  2. Link to gallery of Zblj's Trophy Truck. There are no plans, but give it a go - if you get stuck, just ask for help
  3. The sky's the limit. Here are three good ones: I'm on a boat! by mahjqa, on Flickr
  4. Nice review. The fork movement is pure witchcraft, and this isn't really touched on by Lego's marketers, which is a shame.
  5. Another thread bump It's time to break this up, which means: Download here: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/vmln8r/1986-Lunchbox/lunchboxbyvmln8r.lxf
  6. Thanks for the nice replies everyone By the way, I don't own a Tamiya Lunchbox, but came across it on this site, which I find a great source of inspiring models and wacky colour schemes.
  7. Great work! I love how you've kept it compact by using every part efficiently. The video is also very impressive - especially the white background and those super-smooth camera movements. Any tips?
  8. Could you also tell us what camera you've used? The close-up shots and zooming in the video are excellent.
  9. The frame to which all four sprockets are attached needs to be super secure (by which I mean not relying on the clutch power of bricks, but Technic beams and pins). I've found that the small diameter sprockets are pretty horrible in driven models, so together they might be the source of your troubles. Side note: do you need that much gear reduction? I'm guessing the worm gears won't last long (ie, they'll turn to dust).
  10. The pulleys and tyres won't fit in the centre of the tracks - only at the edges. This might help: indrik09 by mahjqa, on Flickr Could you post a picture or two of what you've got so far?
  11. Yes - replacing the small wheel hubs and the small sprocket with and should do the trick.
  12. It's unstoppable! The opening shot is great. Could you explain how the gearbox works, specifically how the two M motors are controlled from a single output?
  13. I don't know if this is accurate or not, but you might want to simplify things and adapt the geometry/size of 8048's front suspension:
  14. Not to be picky, but my collection of letters and numbers is vmln8r Thanks for indexing though.
  15. We need more Technic! Motorised Argocat Chassis by vmln8r - LXF 8051 Alternate: Classic Sportsbike by vmln8r - LXF
  16. Woah, nostalgia trip!!! The automatic coupler looks great - you have to wonder why Lego didn't think of this in the first place, it would have been a great selling point. Your website looks great - perhaps link to it in your signature? Oh, and lovely pictures by the way.
  17. Thanks again drakmin, I will certainly try that out. Thanks (and for your comment on the Batpod). I wouldn't mind all that much if someone thought this was worthy of plagiarising - but when I get around to retouching this image, the logo will likely disappear.
  18. Things to do: Check out harmacy's Shadow ARF, which sold for $45 Now check out my Shadow ARF, which is currently 45 times cheaper I didn't get anything either - nothing <$30 appealed.
  19. How are you doing this? I've tried adding few things to my cart, both items sold and fulfilled by Amazon, and also those sold by third-parties. Either way, I get what Amazon calls 'a slight problem' - that they can't ship the order --- Important Message There is a slight problem with your order. (See below.) The following items cannot be shipped to the addresses you selected. (Learn more.) You may either change the shipping addresses or remove the items by clicking Delete. * LEGO Technic Off-Roader 8066 cannot be shipped to the selected address. * LEGO® TECHNIC® Motorized Excavator 8043 cannot be shipped to the selected address.
  20. Thanks drakmin - I did try using layers, none worked well, even after using [edit > fade > luminosity]. It was only the propellers that caused a problem. Rushing the pictures and taking them in poor light probably didn't help either.
  21. Helipak by vmln8r, on Flickr Lightweight single-seat helicopter. It features a single motor, which drives a pair of contra-rotating, coaxial propellers. It uses only parts from Technic sets. Here's the real thing - wonderful isn't it? This took less than an hour to put together, but much longer to photograph and edit. I took a picture of the model on a stand, then a picture with just the background, combined them and edited out the stand. The problem is that the tone of the sky in two pictures differ, which makes the end result a bit yucky. Ordinarily I'd draw neatly around the edges, but with the spinning propellers and everything, I quickly hacked roughly around the edges and called it a day. If anyone knows a better way to do this, please let me know.
  22. That's odd - not to rub it in, but I didn't spend a cent on Star Wars and got the minifig (no poster). Definitely ring them about this.
  23. Nothing here yet, order shipped on the 6th. Super Edit: arrived this morning. Super
  24. This is what I’d like: Main forum: MOCs, set reviews and one pinned topic for upcoming sets – surely we don’t need a separate topic(s) for every upcoming set? Sub-forum: techniques, Q&As and everything else. I love Model Team, however for more appropriate exposure, perhaps it should be grouped with Creator and placed as a Town sub-forum. Perhaps most importantly, a reminder of the appropriate etiquette and grammar to improve readability – although not specific to this forum, less bogus topics like this would be great.
