  1. Its a good deal, but I've gotten so much Lego that I have to be really selective. I'll try to stay away from the Warehouse for the time being I'm after the Bionicle set 8995 Thornatus V9. If anyone has this or possibly other Bionicle vehicles/ Technic sets they'd like to sell, PM me P.S. Has anyone tried Lego direct? I've emailed Toyworld, awaiting their response.
  2. Awesome, power and lightness. So it has two RC motors? I have to get some of those. Funny video, I'm not sure the boy thought so
  3. Brilliant job as usual. I love the simplicity of the chassis/drivetrain. P.S. Your camera car is awesome too, the wheel setup is just inspired. I made one a while back with two pullback motors and it will definitely benefit from the twin wheel arrangement.
  4. Thanks for the pictures! Looks like it was a great event, and now I wish even more that I went P.S. love the Quidditch pitch and your castle
  5. They also have them at The Warehouse, but not on sale. Has anyone been to Kmart recently? Anything notable? I might be able to go there this weekend.
  6. I wish I could've made it to Kapiti, it sounded great! I even had a couple of models ready and everything. Do you think it will be around the same date next year?
  7. Looks awesome, reminds me of one of favourite cars. It'll be interesting to see the gearbox, but otherwise looks a little light on functions. I hope the price reflects this. P.S. How slow is this going to be with that giant anvil of a battery box and a M motor Edit, the motor is for the functions, duh.
  8. vmln8r = my name, Vimal + "-inator" shrunk to fit a number plate. This was six years ago, way before Phineas & Ferb was popular
  9. I don't think Lego makes a good investment, and I can still pull out old boxes from time to time, the fact they're opened doesn't diminish my enjoyment of them. So in the majority of cases, I'd open any MISB set I came across. In the event I didn't want a particular box of Lego, I'd sell it.
  10. Where in NZ are you? I'm interested to know what shop you're talking of. Ring Moore Wilsons, I'm sure at the $330-ish they're selling it for they'll ship it to wherever you want.
  11. After seeing the new Slave 1 in shops, I bought a MISB 6209 off Trademe. Haven't built it yet, too many other things going on I've got a lot of MOCs twirling about in my head too. Like David, I'm going to lay off the new Lego for a while. Not that I regret buying anything, I just feel it's too much for the moment. So far have managed to resist both the Warehouse's and Farmer's sales
  12. Great idea, funny and well executed. Nice selection of helmets, if I were Darth I'd pick the Robot one, its so cute.
  13. I voted for the Cloud city one, it has just the right amount of detail and is wonderfully abstract. Plus it's how he is depicted in the LSW video games, my first introduction to Boba Fett. The new one has too much detail, although I like the cape and the separate helmet/jetpack.'
  14. What a massive haul! You must be very happy, there's nothing quite like the anticipation of opening piles and piles of new Lego Plus I love Kapiti's TW, there's something magical about the location, just a shame it takes so long to get there from Wellington. Definitely agree with you Legoman, I don't think any of the new SW is worth RRP. But that's what sales are for, hopefully Kmart will get some of big sets like the CTT, and eventually discount them to clear them out
  15. Hey guys, the 2H 2010 SW sets are in Toyworld: 8089: $100 8095: $130 8097: $200 8093: $55 8096: $150 8098: $300 (again, no typo!) 8099: $90 (a bit better) Can't remember the AT-AT's price.
  16. At Farmers: Plo Koon's fighter: $50 Midi ISD: $100 (no typo!)
  17. I like your models Mark! Duck and Bear are pretty much perfect Oh, I've spent many nights dreaming of a Lego mountain railway Given enough parts and time,it seems fairly simple. Curves might be difficult, although I haven't looked at how they are constructed beyond the Railway Series books. I might do a bit of research, figure out how LDD works and give it a (virtual) try. A mountain or narrow-gauge railway was one of the first things I thought of when seeing the Indy mine set for the first time. The steep inclines and tight curves are a bit much though. I'd like to make 'Devil's Back' with a large engine shed at the bottom, just how I imagine them in the books.
  18. What a 'Really Useful' MOC Perhaps you could try some of the squarer trains - like Duck, Boco and some of the other diesels which might be easier to illustrate in Lego form. One day I'd really like to make a mountain rack railway with Culdee, Lord Harry, Godred and all the rest of them...
  19. Ah, I used to take these to school during 2000/2001, from Burwood to Flemington I think. Your model looks spot on, although I don't remember many without graffiti Seriously though, nice model
  20. The video works from the S@H link. I quite like the model, it'd be nice to create Jango's Slave 1 in UCS form to go alongside it. However at this price, I'll wait for a sale.
  21. As always, an excellent review which confirms how awesome this set is. Thanks Blakbird
  22. Wow, awesome work I love the little extra features like the dashboard buttons and working door handles
  23. They're not online for NZ either, select UK to see them. As expected they are very expensive
  24. Great work, I love the colourful, shiny renders. The bottom left one looks like a weight lifter with spindly arms
  25. TW in Johnsonville and the Warehouse in Lower Hutt have them at RRP. Hmm, went to Kmart last weekend for their 'Mid-Year sale'. I was expecting either new sets or the old ones to be on clearance, but nothing I'm thinking they won't be bringing in the big sets like last year, that October sale was great for us, probably not so great for them Anyone got further details?
