Nope, still waiting too. I ordered a charger for 8878, which I finally ended up buying from this excellent Bricklink store ($110 incl. fully insured delivery) in the US - which makes Lego charging $150 kind of ridiculous.

Lego Polyhedrons

This is a welcome role reversal DLuders Well done, these types of things give me a headache. -
Let's revolutionize mosaic software!
vmln8r replied to Lasse D's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
This might just be throwing a spanner into the works, but I think that automating the process that mahjqa describes here would blow the competition out of the water. -
Has anyone got any of the old RC sets/parts they'd like to get rid of? I'd be interested in stuff from this list. New or second-hand, it doesn't matter as long as it works.

How to upload from Flickr to Eurobricks
vmln8r replied to Gregorovich's topic in Forum Information and Help
Here's what I do (computer): 1. Copy the entire BBCode for the picture into your post: <a href=" title="rango by vmln8r, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5225/5679646276_77286249d8.jpg"'>http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5225/5679646276_77286249d8.jpg" width="500" height="353" alt="rango"></a> 2. In the above, delete everything except the second URL, so you're left with: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5225/5679646276_77286249d8.jpg 3. Highlight the URL and click insert image: Here's an alternative way, where the image is a link to the relevant flickr page (or wherever). 4. Copy the URL for your photo page (not the image itself), ie 5. In EB, highlight the URL including img tags and click insert link. 6. Paste the URL into the URL box. -
Best "handeling" technic set?
vmln8r replied to allanp's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The HOG positioning on the Race Truck (8041) means there isn't all that much weight on the rear end, which makes for an epic carpet drifter. Easily the most fun I've had with a Technic set in recent years. -
Rocket Racer and Veronica Voltage

Excellent work I'm no software expert, but I wonder if the game CD contains these types of files? -
Only 40%? Re S@H: I picked up a boatload of power functions parts, along with some Harry Potter sets for my sister Hopefully this is an annual event.

There's some great work in this thread, which has prompted me at long last to scan some of my stuff. DA looks like a great community. In the meantime, here are some sketches from the past few weeks - I may have overdone it on Rango:

Or Lego could stop committing daylight robbery on delivery. Welcome pinkshiro - as harmacy said, I'd wait to see what special offer Lego brings out for May the 4th. Last year it was free shipping, in which case it'd probably be the cheapest place to get 10212. I'd guess the 10212 will be exclusive to Toyworld - they seem to have a better customer base, plus Kmart completely bungled their last $500 Lego set, and although 10212 is a different proposition, they may not want to take the same risk again.

Thanks for the discussion everyone - I hope it's been a nice nostalgia trip and perhaps even prompted a few to dust of their copy Exactly! I really dislike both those aspects, such that I've only played LR2 start to finish once. That's interesting, I've always needed the CD. If you (or anyone else) has any screenshots of your cars, please post them. I need some new ideas!

Well, here's my entry: 1886 Benz Patent Motorwagen, by vmln8r As you can drive this without having to look at a horse's bottom, this was probably pretty super back in 1886. Things my remote-controlled model features include: tiller steering, chain-drive and a spinning flywheel at the back. As entered (ie, without Karl), it uses only parts from Technic sets. It'd be nice to see the AFOL entries this time around.

Many thanks - picked up 2x 8864 Desert of Destruction at a comically low price

Portal 2 looks nice and all, but for simplistic, childish fun this can't be beaten. It's quite fun to beat the bosses into a pulp and then power your way to victory, as I have done here (termed boss-bullying in our household). More examples of my boss-bullying here. More about the game here.

According to Brickset it measures 28" (71 cm) tall on stand You have a PM re: S@H order

Quick poll about instructions
vmln8r replied to mahjqa's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Of all your wonderful models, this and the Igniz are probably equal favourite. If I decided to recreate this (and I have seriously considered it), I probably wouldn't need instructions to do so. However, since I'd basically be copying your work, if instructions were available, I'd purchase them out of goodwill. I'm assuming your intentions in making instructions are artistic rather than commercial, ie "bringing Technic to the people". In which case I think the biggest obstacle to purchasing instructions would be uncertainty about acquiring the necessary parts. To address this, here are some random ideas (with varying price and difficulty): - charge $500 and sell as a complete kit - sell the electronic bits, such as the XL motors, which to the typical Lego fan were last seen two years ago - provide the bricklink parts list - provide part codes for Lego direct (with which the US/European Lego fan can pretty easily order the parts) - advise on some sets which will provide the bulk of parts -
Harvester Idea Book 8888.

I think we need a sub-forum for questions. -
That was the idea. Thank you for getting it! Here's your virtual cookie, etc. The treads only came in this, which was 13 years ago.

I got the idea for this when I first heard about the upcoming theme Alien Conquest. I thought it would be the humans doing the conquering - this tank was part of the resistance. Entered in the Motorized Sci-Fi contest over at flickr.

I have noticed it - for instance last year Brickbeard's Bounty was only advertised in their catalogue as $30 (from $90?), not in store. Similarly last week I bought two Zurgs for 75% off - which the casual customer would not know about. To summarise - use the price scanner

So, did you end up buying any 8878s? At the Kapiti TW I was told they'd ordered them previously - so I emailed the owner eight days ago but haven't heard back. I have done the same at the Wellington CBD store. When I'm able to I'll ring both of them to see what's up. But, if either of those don't eventuate, is anyone else interested in a group buy from BL?
