It's also a little odd that considering there is a servo for steering, it does not return to centre all the time, in most of the video, the loader was not in the straight position? Does this indicate a new remote control? or was the person demonstrating, just holding the servo in the full lock position?

Not to mention, if there are 16 corners, 4 corners make a 90 degree turn, so if there are only 16 corners as deplicted on the prelim box artwork , how would you achieve the proposed track layout on the bottom of the box. I don't think the 2 points would connect as shown in the picture without some additional curve track or flex track? And is that the wheelbarrow mold in Yellow? or Simpsons lime green? Looks yellow in the prelim, 2nd look and it's lime green :-)

Maybe the dozer will be a baby D8 to go with the monster D10/11 we got the other year

100% correct! I have a distant memory of a lego shop in the Friary centre Guildford, back in the 80's but it might have just been a toy shop that stocked lots of lego, but I recall it having a yellow front and a lego sign. Who knows

Considering the cost of injection molds, there are a lot of new parts here, and only a few do them appear to add value, most can be achieved using a combination of other bricks.

I always make sure those clone brands are bagged and sent straight to landfill. Harsh as it may seem I would not want to see those clone brands in anyone's hands. Kids don't deserve to have inferior product. I even received a couple of clone brand 1 x 6 plates from a brick link seller last year, I took it as a genuine mistake, but they ended up in the same place.

By default they would try and run in opposite directions. I don't think I've explained this very well. Other option is to open one of the motors and resolder the cables to reverse the polarity of one of the motors so it runs in reverse

It took me quite a while to locate a nice copy of this set. So many available on the market only had 3 of the small hazard stickers. Really annoying from a collector point of view Paul

I just happen to have taken a couple of pictures of this set as well when I bought it all those years ago, but never had the right topic to share them until now. At first I was so impressed with the box, it's a digger/backhoe, and a massive box, it's ticked all my boxes However there is no doubt there was a slight bit of disappointment at first when I opened the box, it felt like the set was a little over packaged………. Luckily it turned out to be a great set and I managed to acquire a second one in the Argos sale when it was discontinued :-) Still MISB awaiting a rainy day
