  1. Finished building mine last night, I love it. I just wish they would print the stickers onto the bricks. but it is a great model, I love the way they built in the pump for motorisation and the lifting cabin is so nicely intergrated. Even the brick under the cabin to hold the 2 x 2 brick when you upgrade the set to include LED's. great set.
  2. I jumped on 3 for 2 at Argos on Friday morning, first thing, ordered 3 x BWE into Guildford, they arrived in store on Sunday, boxes were huge! £179 saving, so £119 each, not bad less than a week after it launched!
  3. Any idea what i'm doing wrong, or is this just how it is now. On the old bricklink, you went to catalogue, and as an example, you then selected gear, and retail displays and you could see pretty much all the retail displays which have ever been listed on Bricklink. However when you went to shop or sale, you selected gear, and then retail display, and bricklink only showed you the retail displays which are physically available to purchase at that moment in time. Now, roll on 2016 and the new look bricklink which is slowly growing on me, but it's things like this which I get frustrated with, now I go to Shop, then gear and then retail displays and it shows the catalouge of every item which has ever been listed, rather than just the items which are for sale. I guess I can change a setting to say only display available items, but any idea where this might be? Thanks Paul
  4. I've justed ordered 2 of these on 3 for 2 at Argos, along with another set, nice saving. Pick them up Wednesday.
  5. The improved Argos website is actually letting you order in sets as part of 3 for 2 this year, I had so much trouble last year, good and bad news as i've spent a fortune over the last 2 days. Thanks Argos. Christmas is now sorted!
  6. Looking at that rear picture of the box, I think it's safe to say you can use the medium motor to make a compessor (likely with a small pump which is also included) and add LED lights as well. Nice feature, but this price point probably could have included one motor and a battery box but anyway.
  7. Hi Blakbird, I have a couple of minor corrections for the site. Under other, supplemental sets Wheel styling pack is down as set number 8219. This should be set 5219 Also on the set number list on the home page, the hyperlink is missing to link to the real set 8219 (small go cart) which you have reviewed under go carts. Paul
  8. that is a serious amount of 1 x 2 plates, nice job
  9. I did not even see these hit the shelves in the UK, guess they will hold their value well. Even if I did get any, they looked really hard to feel up the bags as most of them would feel the same.
  10. Many many years ago, I saw the real truck at the Southampton Boat Show in the UK, always seemed a stange place to display the truck, but I remember being excited when I saw it there. Must have been only a year or two before it ceased it's tour. I wonder what ever happened to that real truck, I wonder if it was put into storage or whether it was scrapped, or just gutted, rebranded and returned to a lease company?
  11. I experiemented with hills and tunnels a few years ago, and on a 32 x 32 I think you will struggle, not the best picture, but I made a straight hill with tunnel and a corner, but the corner was a little tight. I appreciate it is fairly basic.
  12. I think the general rule of thumb is avoid Florescent lighting in the room, avoid UV, avoid constant temperature changes, I would think you would be safe with LED or regular incandescent lighting.
  13. Maybe just me, but I'm not feeling a need for another VW beetle I think there were other more required sets on the AFOL want list
  14. Unless like me he is still struggling to navigate the new look bricklink........
  15. I'm unsure whether you work at the California Legoland or another one, but I've had the opportunity to spend a day at the California site only two weeks ago and to be honest, as an adult who is not interested in the rides and has travelled 6000 miles to see Legoland, and really Miniland, I went away quite disappointed. Giving this thread started 18 months ago, I was expecting to see some improvement to Miniland, but if anything, it continues to show it is in decline and in need of some serious TLC. I need to ensure this feedback is passed onto Lego. Whilst I appreciate your reply, telling me it costs a lot of money to maintain, when I've also spent a lot of money over $200 for 2 adults to have 1 day in the park with Parking. This is not acceptable. Some of the repairs, and minor things could be resolved in a matter of minutes. Luckily I have a few pictures from my visit just to show everyone what I'm seeing needs to be fixed. This is not to mention the 2 Jet Ski's which had sunk in one of the exhibits, I never took a picture of that. Also giving we are now coming into the start of high season, you would expect to see the miniland area in tip top condition after a winter period, but it was like a building site or a large number of models were missing. The luxor needs a couple of bricks to be reconnected Lincoln Memorial, missing 50% of the white house missing New York, just a complete building site Trams not running Another model missing No water, in total disrepear Another model missing Monorails not running, and looking very broken Random orange 1 x 6 rogue lego brick in the water? This was seen in a couple of other places as well. Not just this one. Another rogue orange Lego brick in the water around Treasure Island None of the hill trams running in San Francisco The lock system was completely destroyed Overall, most of the animated vehicles were no longer running, apart from the couple of floats in New Orleans, the couple of new looking double decker buses and maybe one ropey looking car, all other vehicles were out of action. Overall, really disappointing,
  16. OK, this wanted list is still driving me bonkers. So I have 98 items in my wanted list, and it only shows 25 per page. In order to search by shop, I click the check box at the top of the page, which selects the first 25 items, but when I click onto page 2, to select all the items on the wanted list from page 2 as well, it does not keep the items on page 1 selected. There appears to be no button which says select all items on my wanted list before going to quick shop? Thanks Paul
  17. I too am having trouble, I login and go to my wanted list which is fine, but on the old site, I then clicked "by shop" and it showed which shops had the largest amount of the parts I needed. This must be standard functionality on the new site, but I'm not seeing the button to click? Any ideas? Paul
  18. It was still available at the Lego shop in Disneyland California 2 weeks ago.
  19. Great job, I really like the escalators as well, wish we could have seen some figures flying off at the escaltors at the top :-) I really love seeing big displays with anamation built in.
  20. It is definitely odd that in the city lineup, Lego see police and fire as required to be released every year, but as soon as the child is old enough for Technic, boom, no more interest in fire and police.... The engine with ladder is a good one. We have definitely only seen a few fire and police ever in the Technic lineup over the years. Paul
  21. Hi, I wish you luck in your quest, there is a game flag on ebay in Italy at the moment at quite a reasonable price, postage to the uk should not cost a lot at all: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEGO-STORE-SHOP-DISPLAY-NEW-BANNER-LEGO-HARRY-POTTER-35-x-71-/311584414517?hash=item488be0db35:g:vHYAAOSwtUtXA9CY And here is another potential Harry Potter retail display? Not sure if you have this one already? http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?G=4194343#T=S&O={} this one as well http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?G=HPAM2#T=S&O={}
  22. For me that underwater monorail would have bought a few new part colours, the blue monorail track and supports, very cool. And to think, somewhere, those parts actually existed, they molded at least a few of them parts in blue to make the prototype set which they photographed. It's not like these sets in the pictures were digitally designed.
  23. I'm very pleased to see the balance of minifigs in the box is better, not like the regular figures where you sometimes get 6 of 1 figure. The odds from a lucky dip are more in our favour. Whilst I still like many of the figures, I'm hoping they include Winnie the Pooh characters (especially Tigger) in Disney Round 2,
  24. I'm not blown away, the car looks good, the features are nice, would have maybe liked to see working head and tail lights, but I can live with this. They are selling the luxury packaging, but when he lifted the lid, it did not look as good a quality packaging as the 8448 Super Street Sensation of which there just happens to be a review I've spotted on the front page of Brickset today, and the packaging on that one looked better. As for the phone book manual, that looks to be where most the cost of this product has gone into to. £200, it would have been a top set, £250 will be ok, but I won't feel like it's good value when I'm building it.
  25. Love it, great integration of the pneumatic functions, even if the doors look a little dangerous for the average minifigure! Strange why the two small cylinders open in sync. But close seperately? I guess one is stronger than the other, or has had more use and sticks a bit? Paul
