  1. This is really cool. Totally love your story and the build itself is of course really nice too. Great landscaping (river, snow etc.) and I also like the weirdness of the towers, wich befits the two loonies!
  2. hey lenjoy, nice scene and all, just perfect for a first AoM moc. One thing I do wonder about though, have you already declared your alligience to Mitgardia?
  3. wow, that Marx figure is really great! Are you planning on making more, like aristotle, sokrates, rousseau and all those others?
  4. alright, so this time I really took in some of the suggestions, shortened the poop deck by three, change the place where I'm groing to attach the shrouds (what's the name in English?) and added the sideway beams. So do you guys think this looks better?
  5. amazing techniques, great build, can't take my eyes off it! Cool stuff Dave! BTW, did you mean Illyria, capital of the fith guild?
  6. there is actually a whole bunch of good builders that I'd like to see back, not only this guild ... sot, taz, isc ... you name them!
  7. amazing piece of work there z, very close to the original but clearly decernable as your moc! A truely great achievement!
  8. hey guys thanks a lot for the feedback @ac: well I know there wasn't that much new here, but I didn't want to bump this thread without anything in my hands, so sorry for that. I'll try to work in your suggestions! @covi: the dimension are actually alright. Late 15th century caravels had a length size ratio of more or less 1:3. So I guess 46x16 studs does the job. I've actually used the same ratio for my carrack and I think it looks alright. I also tested three midsections, but that didn't seem right anymore. After all this is the minifig illusions scale ... anyway, I'm going to shorten the poop deck, maybe that does something to strech things a bit
  9. progress is slow but steady: feel free to comment, even though it might be the 362nd ship construction that follows the CGH method. At least you could tell me why you think it so boring that it doesn't deserve any comments ...
  10. oh wow, this is awesome! I would have never thought that you could do a Lavvu with Legos. Totally amazing techniques used here and also a nice presentation! Good stuff
  11. absolutely amazing dragon, hard to understand how you did it, therefore really outstanding!
  12. great idea, can't wait to see what's next!
  13. thanks a ton guys @gideon: I think you told me this last time and I tried to improve this issue, appearently I didn't cover all holes, dang ... As for the grinder, going to medieval markets sometimes really helps getting inspired!
  14. @dg: shouldn't give up on that castle, I really liked it! But, I know what it feels like to get tangled up in a big project ... It's a good thing my ships inspired your, I'm curious to see yours now! I'm also working on a new one though.
  15. nice try yoohaa! BTW, I've finally found out why your sifig is always wearing the hood:
  16. good to hear that you didn't quit after all DG! So how's that castle of yours coming along?
  17. wow, I really like this! Everything looks nice, organic and well photographed. Wish I'd finally get there ...
  18. hugh, and you're an official friends moccer now, are you sure you still got your balls?
  19. @LV: you got me there too, good thing my students never visit this site ... @HB: well, before yesterday I too thought it was a new window design, but then I found out that someone else has done something similar before, quite a pity.
  20. Am I the only one who feels like the morale in this forum is kinda down these days? A lot of the veterans are missing from the scene and many mocs go uncommented. Everybody tired of GoH?
  21. I think this belongs here too: roof techniques
  22. really great stuff, nice colors, nice action and awesome photography!
  23. thanks guys @eccs: yeah, I'm now going to use these kind of windows more often as halftimbered houses tend to have more sqare than round windows, but it sure eats into headlight bricks quite a bit. @jodocus: I'm sure Haakon can be cheered up by fool and jester
  24. just wanted to bring this up again, as it got lost on the last page ...
  25. welcome to the north edward, you made the right decission! @jeroenaa: no problem pal, I was just kidding On another note, it currently looks like we are raking in all of the new members whereas other guilds go empty. What would you guys think about closing Mitgardia for newbies until the balance is even again?
