  1. Really good to see something quite unique being built for a Lego town, @Lepralego and even better to see a tribute to Craven Cottage (home of the greatest team of all time), which is particularly evident in the brick façade and arched windows. The statue in front of the stadium is also a reminder of the Johnny Haynes one. I like the attention to detail, with all the sponsorship around the ground, the tanoy system and the merchandise available in the gift shop, as well as the colour scheme reflected in the seating. You'll have to build another stand opposite with 'OBU' written! I have always wanted to try a minifig-scale replica of CC. May I ask if you have been there and how you know about Fulham, given you are in Spain and they aren't one of the 'big' teams?
  2. Me too - I'd be moaning about it pretty much non-stop! The regular CMF lines give us so more to add to the Lego universe by including things that wouldn't get made into regular sets. Just think of all the special moulds that have been made for music instruments, sports equipment, animals (not to mention how many of these items that still don't exist). These things wouldn't be included in a regular set as the parts that make them worthwhile just wouldn't be deemed essential to justify increasing the cost of each set. I find the licensed series rarely offer much that couldn't be included in a regular set (in my view super hero themes generally are just collectible figures with added bricks included). I acknowledge I'm generalising here and it's cool that we have all the Star Wars/Batman/Avengers main characters but I'm just not that interested in seeing 101 variations of Batman suits. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-comic books or against Lego having licenses - we all like different things after all. However, I just don't want licensed themes to monopolise the Lego brand and don't see why certain figures can't just be released with regular sets.
  3. Great work again, Robert. Always grateful for you sharing your talent with us - just a pity as usual that these aren't the official Lego designs! Love the variety here - a series that caters to every fan. My personal favourite is the violin girl, although the halfling, Rastafarian and vampire boy are the others I'd most like to see make an official Lego CMF series.
  4. Yes, I much preferred the original parrot to the current blurred colours, which looks awful in my opinion. I would like to see the original parrot as a blue macaw and also the original red parrot refashioned (like they did with the horses) where the figure looks like the original but with wings spread out like the seagull. Also, the revers of the seagull would be good (e.g. no wings spread out).
  5. Nice to see an Adventurers MOC - great job @Peter1999 - I particularly like the bridge. Just been reading about Nepal and Tibet too so your build encapsulates the spirit of adventure perfectly!
  6. Looking forward to this @LegoMathijs !
  7. eHi All, I hope everyone is keeping well. Just wondering if anybody could help or provide suggestions with a technical issue I have. It's just a bit of fun for some friends of mine, who I can't meet up with at the moment (for obvious reasons). I want to take very small snippets of pop songs (preferably from i-tunes) and combine them into a short track, playing consecutively one after the other. The aim of the game will be to identify which tracks the snippets come from. The samples will be too brief to identify using 'Shazam'-style apps, so nobody can cheat. I store my music using i-tunes but want to be able to post the tracks using Whatsapp? Any advice or suggestions will be much appreciated. I'm not overly technical so explanations in simple language would be very helpful! Thanks
  8. I think if we are only now getting one regular series a year, any future recolours of the brick costume should be made via Build-A-Minifig in stores. I'm not saying they shouldn't be done but it would take the place of something much better. I echo the comments above about some of the figures being worth the amount we are charged for them if they do not offer anything new or commonly available. I would also love to see the return of 3 regular series a year. Each series should include something to please the castle fans, space fans, costume fans, sports fans, music fans, etc. The licensed sets are often of zero interest to me.
  9. A shame there don't appear to be too many new moulds, as the licensed figures seem to lack these. I'd still much prefer multiple regular series each year as there is always something that will appeal for everyone. Hopefully we'll all still be here in 30 years time with a full minifigure orchestra available, a full zoo of new animal moulds and still playing Itaria's guessing games and solving his clues, with comments like 'we are long overdue an axolotl suit guy'!
  10. A disappointing series for new animal moulds, although pleased about the turtle. It's a shame as the CMF series is usually the most appropriate place to see new moulds for smaller animals. I'd still like to see a koala, toucan and sea lion in future series. The introduction of licensed figure series has been a real disappointment as it means only one regular series per year and usually this means a lack of new moulds for generic, everyday items (sports equipment, musical instruments, etc). I suppose there could be some new animals in the Harry Potter series but these may also be fictional animals like the niffler...
  11. Only one animal is a disappointment. As a City fan, the CMFs are a perfect way to introduce new parts that aren't readily available in regular sets. I echo the frustration of others when the figures are those that are likely to appear in normal City sets. Itaria, is the animal one we haven't seen before? Also. Any music figures or new instruments?
  12. Some nice ideas above. Particularly more inclusion of animals to match the emergence of more new moulds appearing in recent regular series. Hope the Lego Group are taking note! Itaria, I assume as you can't take part you possibly have some indication of what we can expect to see. I know you understandably won't reveal any of the figures but could you perhaps hint if there is much potential for @Roebuck 's 'New animal mould' thread to have any additions? Anyway, my guesses... 1) Air Hostess 2) Ancient Greek 3) Bear/Teddy Costume 4) Canadian Mountie 5) Dark Elf 6) Diver 7) Dog Costume 8) Fisherman 9) Gondolier 10) Hotel Bellhop 11) Marie-Antoinette style character 12) Orchestra Member (violinist) 13) Shepherd/Shepherdess 14) Zoo Keeper 15) Zorro-style character
  13. Any news on this year's people packs? There were two last year - personally hoping for Fun on Safari, Fun at the Zoo, fun at the Orchestra or fun at the Ice Rink
  14. DJ hair (with headphones) in blonde Classic flowers in purple and orange (not the current 'blocky' flowers) All cutlery (knife, fork and spoons) in a grey or even better, metallic grey Other colours of sports team players (e.g. American footballer, Ice Hockey, Baseball, Footballer) Cheerleaders with every letter of the alphabet and new colours of pompoms Alternative 'golf' torso (like President Business) Christmas Jumpers Christmas Elf Helper's hats, torso and legs New coloured scarf pieces Black round-neck T-Shirt torso print (with short sleeves)
  15. Wow - 300?! If only the Lego Group could churn out such quality and so frequently. I really hope someone who recruits for them looks at all your threads Robert. I have said it before but you are extremely talented and I wish all your designs were actual figures!
  16. A shame in my view that a valuable CMF slot has been taken by DC. There doesn't appear to be much new or any figures that you wouldn't expect to appear in a regular set. Roll on summer...
  17. The Pick-A-Brick buckets would be the best place for Lego to add some re-coloured elf hats, torsos and legs, plus a selection of Christmas "jumpers".
  18. I remember the PQ sets as well as the original Adventurers line. I really liked the PQ minifigures especially, although I think they had stickered parts for hieroglyphics, rather than the printed bricks that made to the Adventurers so good. Hopefully, the homage to Johnny Thunder and the Mummy in the current line of collectible minifigures, show that Ancient Egypt and exploration themes are still in the minds of Lego designers. However, it would be great to have a full return of The Adventurers (to allow for full global exploration rather than limiting the theme to Egypt like in PQ). What would you like to see from PQ/Adventurers in future collectibles minifigures?
  19. What a claim to fame! I once met two of the Gladiators at the opening of the St Nicholas Centre in Sutton... ? Very good! ? That's actually a very Jamie Berrard type of humour so it wouldn't surprise me. The cops and doughnut shop combo is also something they would do, although I suspect it the Wiki entry was a a fake. if we do get an optometrist, I hope it comes with a printed 2x3 Snellen Chart tile.
  20. Although not incredible, these later sets seem a lot better designed than the Police and Fire ones.
  21. Are there any French people here who have played Cluedo? I am trying to find the definitve names of the Cluedo characters but there seems to be some variation. Please could you message me privately as I don't want these to be listed online as part of a game I am playing with friends? Many thanks
  22. Thanks for your suggestions all - much appreciated!!
  23. Seeing as a new mould for a bulldog and an owl are included in two 2020 City sets for Police and Fire respectively, this would make it even more strange if a new safari animal is not included with the safari vehicle, so I remain hopeful. However, given the atrocious vehicles included in the 2020 Police and Fire line, I do worry who is approving designs at Lego and fear we'll end up with something horrendous and no safari animal. Forget that - I have just seen a pic of the safari truck. There's a re-issue of the lion from the Jungle sets. A bit disappointing really as this was a perfect opportunity for something new. Come on Lego, is it too much to ask for a giraffe and a hippo (particularly one that separates the upper and lower body so you have the option of it looking like it's semi-submerged)
  24. Hi All, Do any of you technical people have any suggestions to help. I am trying to take some photos of minifigures and superimpose them against a picture showing the backdrop of a TV show for a game with some friends. How can you just transfer the outline of the figure without any background showing. The MS Paint way of manually cropping the picture by free-form is untidy and difficult to do accurately? Any sensible suggestions much appreciated!
  25. Very cool. An ambitious, neat build. Evidently a lot of thought put into it.
