Hmm. I like the idea of cyborg ninjas, but if they're not in ninja garb, what is the difference between this and another sci fi theme?

Been waiting 3-4 years now, it must be about time...

Likewise. I hunt around the internet every few days looking for a leaked photo.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
parksroad replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Haha, I got just two from S@H as an add-on to something else I was ordering. Managed to get: 1 Mountain Climber, 1 Yeti. Love the Yeti, and had thought the Mountain Climber was a little boring but actually think he's a quite fitting companion for a Yeti, now I've got them side by side. -
Yes! I miss that the old, say, $20-level sets could be bigger and a little more detailed because the resources didn't go to a dinky secondary model. I don't even mind having two factions, or a secondary vehicle with larger sets, but it seems that every set now is split up this way. Take the new Castle theme, for instance. Not one set without representatives from both sides.

Oh wow! I was just today wondering why Lego hasn't made many space bases lately. This is making me very nostalgic . . .

Discourage somebody from taking up LEGO as a hobby?
parksroad replied to Paul B Technic's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Better he buys Lego he doesn't know what to do with than guns he doesn't know how to use . . . ? In all seriousness, it sounds like the problem is less whether he has Lego at home than whether he's going to jump on you as his new best friend when you go back. Discourage him from Lego, he'll pick up photography or cycling or whatever other hobby he thinks you've got, no? That's a tough situation, especially if he's basically a nice guy. -
That is one amazingly detailed wall!

Nice. Three chapters so far, and clearly intending more. Good sign that they're generating interest for another wave?

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion

I *wish* the Walgreens around here sold CMF. Even the Target in my area doesn't sell them, so I normally resort to ebay... -
That's a good point about the movie stuff. On the one hand, I'm excited to think that the little blue spaceman in the trailer will be showing up in sets this year; on the other, I'm worried that next year will be nothing but licensed themes and massive media events (Chima, Lego movie, Ninjago's return...). Sigh.

This may be (hopefully is) premature, but any idea when we would see rumors/promo materials for either a new Galaxy Squad wave or a new Space theme?
-
Oh wow, I'd never read the Evil Mech bio. I'd love to think this is hinting at a Blacktron revival. It would help fill the void after Galaxy Squad.

Strange, my browser displays them all in the text of the review just fine.

Hoping to make this my first modular soon, but might hold out to see what the Parisian Restaurant looks like...

Really interesting to see the building techniques on this. Way out of my price range right now but this review makes it very tempting...

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
parksroad replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Apparently the Lego Group feels otherwise--they wouldn't do this if they didn't think they'd sell them. I also suspect you made up your stats on the spot. We have different preferences--you think one female minifig is weird, I think an absence of female characters would be weirder. I liked women (even as a child) and I'm glad to have more for my sets. Looks like we can all have what we like now. -

Why not a female robber? The only one I know of now is Catwoman. Wouldn't it be weirder if Lego continued having 99% male towns? Like I said, there are lots of scientists already and only one is female. This is hardly a political agenda. -

It is cool to have a female scientist minifig at last (since we've already had a couple of male ones), and I think it does make a difference to kids and what they think is acceptable or not. Kids are merciless about what is a "boy" thing or "girl" thing. -
I'm careful, I'd never waste a drink.
