  1. Can I involve you for a minute more? Okay. The reason the XL was used in 42099 was probably for structural reasons, as the big motor casing lends quite a bit of strength to the chassis.
  2. I think the question is "how many RC vehicles can TLG come up with that actually work?"
  3. One thing I did notice about the 6x6 prototype was the XL motor. I have no idea why TLG didn't go with that motor for drive.
  4. I think it was more to do with the fact that the Zetros 6x6 is designed for and used by the military.
  5. It was probably Lars Thygesen, who is seen in the promo stills with the finished set.
  6. Thanks for the download link, @Toastie! Time to test my German.
  7. Looks like this part to me. Could be a strengthened version.
  8. Orange is a fairly dull colour. There, I said it.
  9. Maybe the 80's styling didn't resonate with today's yoof? Just a thought...
  10. Maybe it was too expensive, or used too many parts. Kinda brings up the question as to why TLG decided to design it at all if they didn't have (or didn't want to use) the resources to give it complexity or visual appeal.
  11. So Lars T. is the designer. Could kinda work that out based on 42029.
  12. 42029's B model is the prime candidate for those...
  13. Yep. Like the Jeep tyres, the Zetros versions are less wide than their balloon counterparts, so they take up less space.
  14. Wouldn't fit. 9393 uses the 68.7x34R tyres, while the Zetros tyres match the 81.6x38R version.
  15. Yeah, it is. Think the tractor is my fave though.
  16. Oh yeah, looks like they were built for that one.
  17. So, anyway, I bought a whole pile of Jeep tyres and decided to give them a spin on some other sets. 9393 Observations: Nice! LSW version for the rear wheels please, TLG! 42053 Observations: Again - nice! They really fit the aesthetic of the EW160E. 42080 Observations: Uhh. This model is such a visual fustercluck that the new tyres don't have much of an impact here. Oh well! 8283 I did get a set for 8283 as well as some white hubs, but they just didn't work. The original balloony tyres form part of the telehandler's overall profile and the narrower versions didn't look right. Sorry for the lack of visuals here, but I couldn't be bothered to put them back on.
  18. Tried the Jeep tyres. They make some seriously bangin' super singles for this puppy!
  19. Great use of contemporary parts like the biscuit frames and the 3×7 panels as well!
  20. That puzzled me as well, since it was Alfred Pedersen who designed it. Maybe Luke just really likes it, or was inspired by a part of it. The text blurs, so I can't make it out - some scans of this mag would be great.
  21. Oh man, this is too cool! International versions please, TLG! Loads of interesting info here - so that's what Luke Cragin looks like!
