  1. Ultimately it's up to the builder in this case (pun not intended, as this is a Caterpillar! ) but I don't think there was any other choice here but to use the original wheels as no other current (or soon-to-be-released) type matches their dimensions, and would therefore look odd. I don't even see TLG reproducing a tyre with these specifications.
  2. Brilliant job on the looks and functions, looks like everything works really smoothly! A true tribute to the original.
  3. There are some design choices from the 6x6 that have been retained here, like the front bumper, the front axle housing and the cabin, so it does look like the 6x6 version was heavily modified rather than being scrapped completely.
  4. Needs the Zetros tyres... they'd really set it off. Ah well, superb work regardless!
  5. Amazing work! Detailed and massive - what's not to like? A ride fit for a Terminator!
  6. Very cool! 8049 is one of my most wanted sets and this is a great take on it.
  7. This sort of thing should be discouraged, especially considering that actual reviewers, like you and @Sariel, abide by the embargo dates and put in the effort to make something worthwhile.
  8. Poor guy, after all that time building it he won't be able to play with it for half a month. Such hardships bring a tear to one's eye.
  9. It's not even a complete speed build, for reasons we can probably ascertain for ourselves. Why he'd even bother with it at this point in time is beyond me.
  10. I'd say it's more of a midi than a compact, but good job nonetheless.
  11. Great work! The details and overall shape are spot-on.
  12. The tow truck and Zetros are on TLG Shop(TM) and listed as Coming Soon - with lots of pics and info, natch. Raptor's listed as well for preorder and shipping on 1 Oct. It won't be available for some more months yet, so I wonder why it's available for preorder now, whereas you could just order one for shipping a few days after the release date. Are TLG really expecting high demand for that shitbox? Still no sign of the CAT, either. I wonder why - probably TLG trying to maximize the mystique.
  13. Excellent job! Looks just like the original set and would probably make a pretty cool set today.
  14. I think this looks pretty close to the original. Converting this set to studless is no mean feat either. Great work.
  15. The set hasn't been released yet, that's probably why.
  16. Yeah, Bosuzoku culture did translate well into the Racers theme. Some of the cars had some cool technical solutions, like the rear-mounted steering control in the Nitro Muscle.
  17. Wahoo, a Jeep scraper! The machine we didn't know we needed until now. Top stuff.
  18. Generally, the fun is in seeing what the designers can do with existing parts.
