  1. Mm-hm. Now, if anyone needs me I'll be grooving on the stairs to Harry Belafonte until we get more info.
  2. One way to minimize the bits jamming is to install tan half-pins in the middle of the 5-hole beams on the belt that takes the small bricks. That creates more momentum for the agitating plate and ensures more bits go that way. The top admin guy on Brickset pioneered this fix.
  3. I say we Beetlejuice it and say the set number three times. That should work. 42097. 42097. 42097. ...damn.
  4. I left the tan cone gear out of the actuator first time round. Luckily it was an easy fix. Check there.
  5. It was this time last April that we were getting blurry pics of the H2 sets at least. I think this is the longest we've waited yet. Are the designers ashamed? Do they think, "ooh, our builds are gonna look like crap next to the mighty Liebherr R9800, let's do all we can to hide them until they ship, then we can hide them behind the 42100 boxes!"?
  6. Keeping stuff under wraps didn't even help that much in the first place. I'm surprised they even bothered.
  7. Actually I thought last year's releases and the 1H sets this year were quite reasonably priced. Granted, I got 42080 and 42081 on discount, but still.
  8. Pronably shouldn't have opened my keypad on the subject of pricing. It's expensive, woo big surprise. Anyway, 42097! I'm thinking the B-model might be a tracked work platform, like this.
  9. Manual means you don't need batteries and can worry less about gear trains and friction.
  10. I've just never seen the price for a 900-odd part set so high.
  11. Who the hell is going to be able to afford this? I think TLG's shooting themselves in the foot with this.
  12. I was aware of CONTROL+, but if that's what TLG need to charge to cover the costs, it's insane.
  13. How damn "Extreme" is this bloody off roader? Near enough the same amount of parts as 42097, but it's nearly thrice the price! Does it run on tritium or something?
  14. Makes sense considering that's what a spider crane essentially, and most commonly, is.
  15. The pendular rear suspension on 8264 resembles this in principle.
  16. This is starting to look really good. I'm also looking forward to your Loadall!
  17. Very cool stuff @Zerobricks! I wonder if TLG's official portal hubs will bear any resemblance to your design.
  18. I'm not hating on 42070, mind. I actually think it's okay. Price aside (it'd be a ripoff if it was slashed by £100) it's a good representation of a tough, stripped-down off-road truck, and as a result some of the criticisms levelled at it, such as its utilitarian looks and the lack of rear bed, don't bother me. I even think the B-model is alright because it's so different. Shame about the suspension and function switching, though. Can't have everything. Or maybe you can...
  19. That was a stumbling block with 8455, I'll admit. Whoever drew up the manual didn't know where the hoses were going from one step to the next. 42070 was also a bit annoying on that front, what with pins going walkabout between steps and other screw-ups that @Sariel already pointed out. Other than that, though, I'd say double or even triple-checking each step before moving on alleviates much of the supposed difficulty in a build.
