  1. @Professor ThaumThanks! Oleon believes in peace through superior firepower and a strong negotiating position. @BodiThanks! @Capt WolfThank you, I considered a few options for the main ground but decided that if there were going to be targets there it should probably be clear. The drum uses a scabbard, white Lego rubber band, and some 1x1 plates and tile. Here's a closeup.
  2. Line infantry are being recruited in Fatu Hiva for the defense of the colonies! Brave Oleanders step forward to heed the call and wear the blue. The Ninth Colonial Regiment is accepting recruits today. The only disqualifying crimes are treason, graft, or unpaid hitching-post tickets. Behind the lieutenant, color sergeant and drummer, we can see the targets the new recruits will volley fire at and then charge.
  3. I just realized on Dame Fortune's voyage for this turn, I have the ports reversed. Can that be fixed or do I need to submit a new form?
  4. I've got a couple ideas... I think I may have to MOC this one . Urgent parcel service pays well....
  5. Solid investments in my Class 0s! Four unescorted runs between them and they've each had a 500+ doubloon voyage. Love the write up as well. I always enjoy reading them.
  6. Thanks, figured it was somewhere but hadn't been able to find it. Need to start recruiting for the Lotii war.
  7. Where do I look for the size of settlements so I can figure out how many troops I can recruit? Many of the settlement pages don't appear to have this information.
  8. Thanks! That is useful. Not a lot of sea going vessels in Ameri-indian culture but I think I can blend the decorative motifs and style with Polynesian ship layout and rigging to get something suitable. Maybe a couple small cast bronze cannons.
  9. Looks like this will be a ton of fun! I'e got ideas for a couple categories already. What culture if any are the Tyree'De based on, at least as far as ship design?
  10. Haha I'll try not to. I figured my sigfig is too low in the ranks to be released from his duties for a party like this... but not his esteemed parents, or their daughter.
  11. A letter of intent o attend from Monsieur Pascal Sebire and his wife, Madame Marie-Noël Sebire née Dumaresq. Formal notice will be sent when sufficient transport for themselves, their eligible daughter, and servants has been chartered*. *aka as soon as I put together a couple servants and take photos.
  12. With this Carno-Lotus war brewing, are the histories and details of these nations filled in anywhere? All I have been able to find so far is that one of Carno's colors is red.
  13. This fresh war should be interesting! And I'm very pleased with my proceeds from the little Angelique. Not half bad for a Class 0!
  14. Thank you for the award! Congratulations to all, lots of good entries!
  15. @Ross Fisher @Bodi Yes, the hammocks, rolled up and placed in the racks served as a light protective barrier against musket fire, spalling and splinters. The racks are mostly along the sides of the ship - in this case the guns will be fore and aft on turntables but in a ship with broadside guns the racks are built over the gunports.
  16. @Bodi Thanks! She's coming along slowly, I need to order more hinge bricks for the starboard side, and bits for the hammock racks. I think I've settled on a two master with the rear mast leaned back a bit, so the hull also will get a small revision to place the rigging in the right spots.
  17. Thanks everyone!
  18. Those are lovely little ships, and a nice story to go with them! That lamp might be a touch big for the ship though
  19. Love the build, and the bunch of grapes in particular is very NPU! I may have to steal that
  20. Beer Garden - Stories Having received orders to head east, but with a large allowance of time for travel and leave, Guillaume Sebire thought he'd make a stop at the famous Weelond Oktoberfest to see the sights and hear tales of the wild islands and dangerous waters of the new world. Once there, he found himself a seat in one of the less-crowded beer gardens, at a bench with an Eslandolan merchant and an Oleander sailor. Armed with a commemorative mug filled with a fine stout, he settled in as the sailor and merchant bantered back and forth over what the region held for them. The Eslandolan wove tales of riches beyond measure, gold, silver and gems for the taking - as long as one had a head for business of course. The Oleander sailor spoke of the dangers of pirates, privateers, and natives, and the titles and honor to be won conquering them in battle. Guillaume thought his new posting was going to be quite exciting, wherever it would ultimately be. As they spoke, they studiously ignored the Corrie infantryman making a rainbow yawn into the refuse barrel behind him. Quite a boorish lot, they seemed, but at least indisposed as he was the Corrie couldn't waylay the fresh beers headed their way with crude advances on the beer-maiden.
  21. @Bregir @Captain Dee Thanks for the advice! I altered the gables as suggested and it looks much better now. I've put a lamp and roller blind on my shopping list as well, hopefully that will help. Here's a couple close up shots of the tools and such inside: Treadle Grinder and Lathe Anvil, Bench and Pole Vise
  22. @Keymonus @Roadmonkeytj Thanks! I've played with removable walls or sections in the past, but ultimately I don't find it worth sacrificing stability or detail to allow one or more removable panels. I do need to get a better photo setup than my phone and some typing paper, to help me better showcase the interiors. Perhaps next time I can take some detail shots of the equipment and furniture outside the building.
  23. Thanks everyone! I'm glad you all like it.
