[MOC] DELTA Rover
zux replied to oracid's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice idea! Have you tried running it outdoors? Should crawl pretty good on soft surface. -
JopieK, you forgot to mention this is for RLUGs. Not sure if you could arrange a tour without being a LUG member. Sadly, number of such visits/tours has now been reduced.

Technic has 3 sets per year of more than 1000 parts lately
-
42000 has wide range of useful panels in white. Also it includes tires that were also available in another set from 2007 only. It might be wise to get 42000 now if you still can find it at a decent price as price might skyrocket later.

Can you have enough pieces that buying sets in unnecessary?
zux replied to Iori_Yagami's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It is pretty easy when you have your collection stored on Rebrickable. You can then easily check which pieces you are missing in sets you are interested in. Personally, I have accumulated pretty much Technic pieces so I'm just looking for missing pieces if I wish to build smaller sets. But still buying larger ones. -
Best set never told...I mean sold

Yeah, forgot about this great looking set. Haven't even included it in my wishlist as with current prices this is something I would never get. -

Check the photos on the link I've provided, these are at the bottom. Panels don't have silver-like look, which would be in case of Flat Silver. There are some other DBG parts nearby and they are all the same.- 5,509 replies

Nice find! Time for Y2016 BL wanted list... I'm affraid 3x11 panels could be in Flat Silver instead. Driving ring seem to be in Flat Silver as well, which is already available in one SW set.- 5,509 replies

It's back onlineRebrick - MOC/URL sharing site Rebrickable - place where you could keep track of your brick collection and check which MOCs you could build, since all of them have instructions.

Mercedes Benz Truck of the Future
zux replied to Milan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Calm down guys, it works fine now. There was a reason. -
We have a LUG member who has a BL shop. Not a million, but he has about 600-700k pieces. Some storage pictures could be seen here.

Best Mid-Sized Technic Models

While we are speaking about new models, I would like to mention 8858, which was pretty cool at the time it was released. -

I've got few sets that I've wanted really-really bad already. Still have pretty large wanted list on BL. Some sets to include: 8466, 8461, 8675, 8480. Well, nothing you can't buy these days, but some sets are pretty hard to get hold of good condition, especially with a both and at a decent price. 8043 was on the list also, but I found I'm missing just small number of pieces to build it from parts I already have. -
Yeah, I like boxes too, but didn't encounter issues like yours. Still to find a box I couldn't open by cutting through glue with a thin knife. There are many reasons why current boxes are the way they are, and most of the time you won't get thick boxes with inserts as you described.

I would say I like that oversized grille, looks uncommon and pretty.
