Which figures have a full chest and head helmet?
tkatt replied to Asphalt's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There is this guy from the new Ultra Agents line. -
Excellent video. It is so well done I think Lego could use it as an official promo for the set.

The balloon and lighthouse have been in all the various images of Heartlake City. I wonder if any other future sets are shown or hinted at in these pictures. .

Thanks for all the nice comments. The Hyperdrive comes from 4504 Millenium Falcon, but I've made a lot of special modifications myself.

6th Anniversary REVIEW: 9476 Orc Forge
tkatt replied to Masked Builder's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Great pictures in this review. I bought this set for $12, without the minifigures, on eBay. I didn't think I'd miss the Minifigures. Seeing them closeup makes me wish I'd bought the complete set.- 11 replies

After I buillt the Haunted House I wanted to make another house in the same style. I'm not totally satisfied, but I'd like to share it before I take it apart. Han Solo's House It opens like the Haunted house High tech kitchen. Dinner in less than 15 parsecs. Princess Leia had some say on the bathroom design Hidden compartment in the living room Trophies and memorabilia Thanks for looking, sorry about the poor quality of the photos.

I've made several orders through Brickowl in the past year and I've become accustomed to it, I think its very easy to use. There are a few reasons I think BO works better. Brickowl shows the shipping charges in your cart as you're building your order. The carts stay open until you delete them, closing the browser doesn't empty the cart. I really like that you check out with paypal right through the site. I still use Bricklink if the price is better and if I can't find what I want from a BO store. Usually for rarer parts and minifigures.
-
I like Brickowl. It looks and works better than Bricklink. But Bricklink has a greater selection, and often better prices. It would be nice if Bricklink's stores were all on Brickowl.

I decided on most of the changes as I was collecting the parts. I didn't keep any real record of the mods, just a part list I printed from Brickset with a bunch of tally marks on it.

Material required for selling on eBay
tkatt replied to kinggregus's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
As a buyer I can tell you how I like my eBay Lego to arrive. For minifigures a small padded envelope is ideal. If the set is still in the box it should be put into a slightly lager cardboard box with newspaper stuffed around the sides to keep it from getting knocked around. No styrofoam or packing peanuts, just packing that can be easily recycled. Loose sets should be disassembled and always be in a sealed bag or container before going into a box. I don't like it when someone puts parts directly into a box because there is a chance pieces will slip through the flaps of a box. -
I've been thinking about buying the book they are putting out next month. It looks pretty good. http://www.amazon.com/Lyles-Brian/e/B00LULUSSC/ref=ntt_dp_epwbk_0

survey Picture versus Video Reviews
tkatt replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
I like picture reviews better. Most video reviews have too much of the reviewer in them. I only want to see the Lego parts, not hands. I don't really want to see the build process, it can sometimes spoil surprises. Bonaparte, I did enjoy the video you've posted. The reviewer is concise, and I appreciate that he stays off camera. I'd like this style of video review to be the standard. -
The Lego stores I've been to don't ever sell most of the licensed polybags. I've never seen a good poly at a Walmart. TRU often sells them from their website, but the shipping cost is an issue. They often have a polybag as a giveaway with purchase, but if you ask they will sell you the polybag on its own. I got that Ironman fighting drone, Gandolf, and the Robin cycle that way. I've got about ten Targets within 30 minutes of where I live and most of them have had the exact polybags you mentioned for the past two years, but one of them just started stocking the Imperial shuttle so there is hope. Check the Holiday section of Target. Especially the day of or the morning after a holiday. I got several of the Ghost/clock poly the day after Halloween on clearance, 75% off. The problem is other collectors often buy up all the discounted sets, so the trick is finding a Target that isn't frequented by AFOLs- it may be worth a trip to the Target in the sketchy part of your city. Oh and stay away from my Target- That clearance Lego is mine!

I'd never seen that piece with an open stud so I suspected it was a clone. Bionicle is something I have no knowledge of, thanks for identifying that part for me.
-
Thanks for the info on the technic bits. As for the bricks with knobs both of the studs are open, so there are no numbers anywhere.
-
You've got a great little setup going there. I've been curious if it is possible to make your own four wide track sections using this part, http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3228c
-
I've got a few parts in a bulk buy that I'm not sure about. The bricks with side studs are hollow and have no identifiers on them, I'm wondering if they are actual Lego or a clone. The technic pieces are unfamilar to me and I'd like to know what set they may have come from. I could probably find them on Bricklink but I don't know where to start. The two on the right don't have Lego on the studs, but they sure seem like real Lego parts.

I live in the states and have had a positive experience. I had several bad parts in a couple of Chima sets I bought. I went through the customer service section of shop at home and requested replacements. They sent them to me but shorted me four pieces. It showed on the invoice they should have been included. About two months later I got around to emailing them again to tell them of the mistake, they sent the four pieces a few days later. I was worried they would think I was lying and abusing the system. But they didn't ask for proof that the parts were bad, and the form letter they sent me was quite apologetic. As the others have said calling them is probably the best option.

I really like the modularized Friends High School and Medieval Market Village.

Two years ago on Black Friday at Target- I see The Black Pearl for $75. My wife had the cart in another part of the store. I go to get the cart but don't bring the set with me, when I get back of course it was gone. I still regret my laziness in not just carrying the box with me.

I'm a little embarrassed by this one, but it came to mind after reading this post... For this topic I'll call it, "It's getting Hoth in here, so take off all your clothes." Also known as "The Emporer's New Clothes" or "An evening with Vodka and Lego".
