  1. Originally I was thinking of a system where you could use 1x2 wall elements and have the base plates nestle into those. However it may cause some moving around of the baseplates and it would have to be slightly larger than the 32x32. I looked at the Lego World Copenhagen 2013 photos. They have a nice design for a subway which is open to the air but below ground level complete with a stairwell onto the street. I had to update my drivers as it turned out Sin. 2007...
  2. How did you have the LDD design look like that with lines and not render? I changed the unchecked the box for High quality render in the preferences menu but mine doesn't look like yours does.
  3. I'm wondering though how would you fit in the subway with these kind of support beams? I understood brickgrrl's original question as that she is looking for a system where you can lift sections in and out without the need for pins. I like your design Sin, I'm wondering if I can modify it somehow.
  4. I really liked Blue Thunder. Used to watch Air Wolf too. I am really looking forward to buying the new police helicopter. Just wish the ones that come with the headquarters had more girth to them.
  5. I love it when that happens. Unfortunately I was missing on one 1x1 white tile in my last order, so close to being perfect! I just also received the wrong order on pants. It was suppose to be Dark stone grey legs x4. Instead I got the Dk stone grey with black hips. Now I guess I will have to order diver torsos to match...I did manage to score an extra 1x6 and 1x2 sand green brick, also a 1x2 earth green brick. Very bizarre. The person must have been working on two orders at the same time and confused the parts/amounts. I knew it jumped but did not realize by that much for a 1x8 brick. Sigh...now if you could only increase your salary on a whim like companies do with their pricing.
  6. Love your winter village creation and so detailed! Excellent work. I really like the pull out Wompa cave too. :)
  7. If you watch the movie again you will notice that on the map behind Lord Business in the conference room shows the various Lego worlds. One of those was Technic
  8. I don't know about others but I wouldn't boycott sets with made in china listed on the box. I am however much more knowledgable now and will be scrutinizing of things I purchase in the future. Definitely in the case of make your own mini figure stands in the lego store. What you say is true. Like most things on eurobricks forums I would hope TLG read some of these threads to know what consumers like us think about the products we purchase either for ourselves or children. There is an inherent assurance of quality when we bought their products. It will be interesting to see how things play out once they have their factory up and running by 2017. Perhaps these issues will disappear or get far worse. I already get disgusted by seeing cheap knock offs on eBay.
  9. So far, most of the recent sets I've bought from the City line have been 'clean sets'. I managed to get my mini-figure parts replaced with freshly minted 'Denmarkian' parts. I did not mind trading them one for one.
  10. Hi all, I was rather uncertain where this topic should go as its a hybrid of three areas. City/Trains/The Lego Movie. I saw the movie on opening night and this bridge was designed by a master builder for the scene with 'The man upstairs' (Wil Farrell) and his son. I only had two low resolution and odd angle images to work with but I designed this. I added in a walkway underneath the rail system and a street sign (which will need stickers) to indicate directions in the city. On the movie set there are buildings all around it. The Horizon Express is based on an LDD file from the forums and is there to show how it would look/work.
  11. Loving this construction so far. It is quite detailed and intriguing. Excellent work.
  12. No, you weren't. Can't wait to own it! I really loved the characters and the message about not being too conformist.
  13. Emmet, did not because at that point of the movie he was captured by Lord Business. Sea Sick UniKitty is in the set with of the Sea Cow coming out for the summer I believe.
  14. Really liking the designs for these trucks. Good work!
  15. Very unique and original! Would love to see it light up.
  16. We all definitely have the same thoughts because I designed my mod of market street with just those exact pieces! Haha
  17. Thank you very much LukeWarmTea! I suppose I could redesign the back wall to incorporate a hinge brick to open up that way. However the roof is detachable just like the modular buildings. I left the cars out of the photos as they got in the way. Hehe
  18. Over the course of a few days. You don't notice it right away as it takes some time to develop. I remember having in on my dresser and it was exposed during prime time sunlight 12-3pm. I estimated last year that it would cost me like $65 to replace all the sand blue parts.
  19. I brick-linked most of the parts so the shipping costs/fees are factored into that estimate. If I had done it through BnP or PAB I surmise it would've been around $70-80 range
  20. Really loving the flavour of the building and the pushed out back wall, not to mention the tunnel. The interior tiles are a nice touch. Definitely a lot of nice details with your MOC.
  21. It is available from the 2011 Police Station 7498 and a 16x32 baseplate for the building. Thank you!
  22. Hahahahaha Everything is Awesome!
  23. Cool, nice modification there. I like your train carriages too. Ugh I am going to have to buy more logs aren't I?
  24. I've seen some straight style Cafe Corners. I think someone did one recently. They look pretty great, so I would look forward to seeing your version. Must be so nice to have a pool of parts to build something like this. You saw the thread with the Blue Grocer too eh? It does look gorgeous. I really should reorder those sand blue parts, my pet shop experienced some discolouration from direct sunlight...eep! That is excellent! Absolutely, they increased the prices on parts. I noticed that just a few days ago. Mini-fig torsos are up to 80 cents from 70. Bricks and plates went up too. I'm not sure as to why TLG increased them. I assume it has something to do with shipping companies. If postal services and the like increases prices they are off-setting the cost onto us consumers.
  25. I like the use of the support stand for the mailbox. Interesting use of the glass panels with the bus stop. I have a bunch of those panels I purchased last year to recreate the stands from Public Transport station (8404) but I opted for my creation instead. Thank you LazyChicken Thank you. I do have the Lord Buisness Mini-figure...maybe his evilness will end up charging higher petrol prices haha.
