42055 - Bucket Wheel Excavator
Anio replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This is why I never read Brickset reviews. -
Exactly. You totally got it ! Unfortunately, I won't. I can not spend more time on that project. Moreover, if it were bigger, it would be almost impossible to display it at the Château of Cheverny. It is in a small room on the left, when you enter the Château. edit :

Thank you a lot to everyone ! You help is really greatly appreciated. The auctions are gone. Hope the guy won't post them again.

I am very picky when it comes to credit, but... you want credit for the use of a 6x6 dish ? What's the next step ? Someone asking credit for using a LBG 2x4 plate ? Oo edit : the dish/radar seems to be quite an obvious choice given how the model is in reality : http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/d/dd/AT-AT_cockpit.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130122180138&path-prefix=nl

Moreoever, the guy is an as*. He told me basically "I changed the cover, and did the plans myself, so they are not yours". Typically the kind of person I can't stand.

I have no interest in all those new models. But they seem very well designed to me. Lot of details, nice textures, good joins in the angled sections, etc, etc. I am not very fond of the final models, but I think designers did a great job.

Hello guys, I found another "guy" (not to say something more insulting...) who is actually selling most of my work... Thank you !!

I am sure that the final model has a way better playability than the prototype version. With one single function, the final model enable to control the arm VERY easily. On the prototype version, where the arm is more or less like 8258, I am sure the controls are a pain. (also note that the outriggers seems to be attached in a much lower position on the prototype than on the final model)

Of course this is what your pictures show. The question is rather if there is an "update kit" available at the customer service for more than 6 months. Moreover, if such a kit exists, the part itself does not exist according to bricklink.

One more thing : at the end of the booklet instruction, the inventory shows a 2x10x3 windscreen... Oo
-
Not so sure. In the Beetle, it is trans-clear while the windscreens of the Cooper are trans-black. Moreoever, the comment from Lego was made in December 2015.

Hi, I read this today on 10242 page of the Swiss Lego Shop at Home : I never saw anyone having an updated version of the 10242. And I could not find any 2x10x3 windscreen on Bricklink... Does anyone know more on that matter ?

42055 - Bucket Wheel Excavator

I am not sure I understand what you mean. The belt works also as a chain in order to rotate the bucket wheel. And the quadrant racks rotate with the wheel. -

42053 - Volvo EW160E
Anio replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This and this in the same sentence. It can't be true. C'mon, this set is an unstructured mess... -
I wrote my review, and kinda disagree with that. The tubing is not perfect ok, but not so terrible compared to 42043 for example. I think the controls are easy to remember, even without stickers. Definitely sooo muuuuch easier to remember than models with tons of controls : 8258, 8110, 42043 8293 makes moves much smoother. Plus, it prevents the locking point of the blades from breaking (it always break when pumping with regular pump). http://www.techlug.fr/review-lego-technic/42053/pelle-sur-pneus-volvo-ew160e-42053--2016

I have the same feeling. Btw, I think the part behind the windscreen could be 1 stud longer. With or classic slope 2x1 + instead of ( is not available in blue, this is why you have to do your A-Wing in dark red. :D :D )

[CMODEL] 42042 - Bulldozer

Very good look, functions and playability. You did a great model ! Only the cabin might need some improvement. Maybe it is possible with the parts you have left. -

Surprising (and ironic) to see that comment coming from a person who did the Cathedral of Strasbourg in reddish brown. haha haha. White would be way too garish. I've been there several times (and took tons of pictures), and the colors of the Château appear to be more like this :

Hi there ! After some builds for the city of Saint Quentin (France ; see topic : http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=130580 ), I designed some new models for the Château of Cheverny. It is one of the most famous Château of the Château of the Loire valley. Of course, I did the Château of Cheverny itself. It is the main piece displayed inside the Château of Cheverny. 28,000 elements. https://www.flickr.c...157667664294584 Château of Cheverny by Régis Gamba, sur Flickr Château of Cheverny by Régis Gamba, sur Flickr Château of Cheverny by Régis Gamba, sur Flickr Château of Cheverny by Régis Gamba, sur Flickr Château of Cheverny by Régis Gamba, sur Flickr Château of Cheverny by Régis Gamba, sur Flickr A dog of the Château of Cheverny, with the "V" of the Vibraye Family on the right flank. 6,200 elements. https://www.flickr.c...157670445678305 Dog of the Château of Cheverny by Régis Gamba, sur Flickr And another dog : Dog of the Chateau of Cheverny by Régis Gamba, sur Flickr And a Louis XV style chair. 13,000 elements. Of course, if you are careful, you can sit on it ! https://www.flickr.c...157667673407913 Louis XV style chair by Régis Gamba, sur Flickr Note that none of the models are glued. It is stable with the clutchpower of the bricks only. You can see those models and some more at the Château of Cheverny from now till the end of the Histoire en Briques (History in Bricks) event (November 2nd). A little bird told me that the model of the Château might stay there forever... Time will tell. :) Régis
