  1. Admiral is a Navy rank, General is an Army rank. Changing rank from Admiral to General would be a demotion. ;)
  2. More likely for her to show up in a new $120 Rebels version of the Blockade Runner, because most everyone want the figure to show up, she'll be in an expensive set. Nice to see the Resistance ship has an interior, even if it's not huge.
  3. Kylo Ren's Shuttle. The only TFA set I don't have now is the Falcon, but I have the 2011 version and completed a BL 10179 this Summer, so I can take a pass on this one.
  4. Seeing all these GBC lately has inspired me to try one... Right after Final Exams next week. The idea I have is to make one based on a real object/place... I can't wait!
  5. The shape is great, but I really don't remember it being green... <Runs to google. By day, I'd have used trans-blue, but I do see some night shots with green lighting. I guess you should take a nigh picture of your MOC.
  6. Ugh. That Bridge of Sighs is bordering on criminal... I guess that's accurate, connecting to a prison? That part is getting an instant MOD when I get it. Raise it 2 plates, put walls on each side, and I think it will look 1000 times better.
  7. Sounds like a certain rollercoaster forum I used to participate in.
  8. New contest rules = new 25 page topic of people trying to misinterpret and bend them. Hear hear!
  9. Yup. From start to finish, I took 13 months to order and build 10179. I simply couldn't afford to go faster.
  10. For those not familiar with drag racing, the A-model is what's known as a funny car. It looks pretty good if you compare it to that class of drag racer. A prominent feature of funny cars is the way the whole body lifts up, and I suspect that may be what the mini-LA is used to do. I'm not sure one could lift this whole vehicle.
  11. I really hope that the bridge on the far right of the Venice set is NOT supposed to represent the Bridge of Sighs. THIS is the Bridge of Sighs, not whatever that thing on the right is. ...and also why microscale is completely inappropriate for some of these sets. (I'm looking at you, Trevi)
  12. US Capitol Building, if you are referring to the Architecture line.
  13. More like a valid excuse to let this thread wind down and start posting discussion of things other than rumors in other threads.
  14. I hope you're right and that there is a wheel. That would be much better, but the box image doesn't seem to bode well for that.
  15. Rudeness is a matter of personal interpretation. Interweb communication is notoriously difficult to convey nuance, and we have members and mods from several countries. It's not surprising that some folks might find... strong moderation a bit rude. I've seen a couple mods engaged in moderation that I thought were a bit harsh, but I'm not a mod, and it's not my site, so my opinion doesn't matter for much.
  16. Sure, but gear A turns gear B isn't even as nice as this year's $12.99 set.
  17. I have called every time I have ever had a problem. All two times. Both times involved a missing brick. I've never had a defective brick, nor a misprint. That's why I am always a bit suspicious when people say they've gotten a bunch of defective torsos. But I'm always a bit suspicious anyways, so there's that, too.
  18. Anyone else disappointed in the hydroplane's 'feature'? Turning a knob to roll the engine cylinders? That's weak, even for a $20 set.
  19. Um, the LEGO logo is backwards... How could that be legit?
  20. Ah there it is! I must have missed it in the middle of such a long list.
  21. Very nice! I think it looks extra aggressive when the wings are open, and extra smooth when closed. The back part of the engines could definitely use some more meat on the bones, though.
  22. Ditto. Only 4 stickers on my sheet: two red rectangles and 2 round black wing hubs.
  23. I've built four non-mini-scale TIEs in the past 12 months, 9492, 75095, 75082 and this. This build was simply the least interesting/satisfying, IMO. I liked the way the wings locked into the pylons on the others better, and that's a big factor. The bottom turret being missing is certainly not helpful either, since it's one of the most important performance upgrades for the new TIEs. The price is certainly not helpful, though. The piece count isn't a big deal to me, and it looks fine otherwise. The FO Officer and Crew Member will be moving to my FO Transport to act as the pilot and pop-up gunner so that the Stormtroopers can all occupy the landing bay, so that's a plus.
  24. Um, I see that the LEGO Movie is part of all this, and since in the film, Batman snagged the hyperspace drive from the Millennium Falcon, how is LEGO Star Wars NOT part of all this? ...and is Droid Tales a separate sub-universe?
  25. There was a Serious Play set that had one of the ultra-rare parts from the UCS Millennium Falcon. Based on the resale value of the 8 copies of that one part, it would pay for itself.... The set did not remain available for long. You never know what oddity will be found in some of these atypical lines.
