  1. Bump. Fun looking Mech! The "hands" are interesting. More like Hooks, but I can see how that may be useful in a robot fight. No need for serious dexterity when a forklift works just as well! Good luck in the games to come, and may the odds be ever in your favour! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  2. Beautiful. This SHIP is an inspiration. Wonderful work. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  3. Hahaha! Great stuff! That hallway is wonderful! Love the sleeping capsules, and the mainframe is really really nice. great stuff! Keep it up! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  4. Cool ship. Really nice shape you went for. I have a soft spot for white landingcraft like this! the asymmetric stripe of grey is also a pretty nice touch. I agree with Missing Brick that the tips of the wings could use something, maybe they could be made a bit smoother with some studless slope parts. The tail design is inspired. Great work and hope to see more from you in the future! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  5. Really wicked work here! I remember when Halo originally came out and there were so few purple pieces that MoCs like this were very hard to pull off. This one is a fantastic rendition of the iconic vehicle! Great work! Shame Lego never got the rights to Halo, and it went to megabluck instead. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  6. Whooo hoo! Pombe's an Imp! Love the story, and love that vig! It's so clean and well designed! Really great work on the forced perspective! Reminds me of your "The freaks come out at night" Also the characters are delightfully viscious! What head do you use for the squad leader? I wanna say it's a tmnt character... Great work and welcome to the Empire! ~Insectoid Imp
  7. When I originally interpretted it, I assumed he was asking to "Throw his loot in the Dordogne River" made sense to me. I assume now that's where Bob lives. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  8. Well, one way is to start with a good close up picture of the figure to start with, as focused and tight as possible. Once you've got a good picture to work with, you can crop and resize it in paint, or you could do all your photo editing (cropping, brightening, adding contrast) in Flickr, an image hosting site I highly recommend. In Flickr, you can also select what size picture you want to share, and it offers you the option, actually, of a 100-100 pixel square. Also, assuming your current profile picture is your desired sigfig, you could download the picture straight from your thumbnail, and upload the 100-100 pixel to a hosting site of your choice. (You can't just copy the URL though. Eurobricks is not a hosting site. ) We'll need your initials here, here, and here, signature here, and that's that. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  9. Hello there! welcome to Eurobricks! To vouch from personal experience, the game is quite fun! It's an awesome challenge to improve your own building and storytelling talents and to interact with other great Lego builders in collaboration and competition! And it's always great to read and look at the stories and builds of your fellow players too! As for which faction you should join, Octan. You should join Octan. But you know, it's your call. Your three options are Octan, Kawashita, and Mantis. Pick whichever faction you prefer aesthetically or storywise, or go with whichever you think you can build best for/ have the colours for, or which you think has the best community. Octan is white, with red and green accents, Mantis is black with green accents, and Kawashita is Dark Grey with red or dark red accents. Octan is kind of your standard megacorp, with great builders and storytellers and a wonderful community. We've got both some of the funniest characters, and some of the most serious, with a diverse verity inbetween! Mantis is a Paramilitary band of tough types, with a fun group of great builders and story tellers. Kawashita is a secretive Japanese-inspired corporation with mechs, tech, and cyborgs, and some really quality storytellers. The corporation pages tell you more about the flavor of each faction than I did, though. Thus far Kawashita has had fewer active players than Mantis and octan, and Octan has seen a hit on some of our previously most active players. Mantis seems to be going strong, but I'll let them speak for themselves. Feel free to PM a faction member to learn more about that faction. As an Octan player, I know more about Octan than I do about Mantis or Kawa. To sign up, all you need to do is construct a sigfig (a mini figure that represents your character) choose your name, occupation, and faction, and post them here! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  10. I agree with Greeble. Awesome look, but it does break the size limit by just a bit, I think, and the weapons limit by a little more. It's all in the saw/drill hand, though, so my suggestion would be, since the entry is considered a Work-in-Progress before the due date, why don't you swap the grinding gears for a rather small hand, so it'll look like a fiddler crab of sorts. You could call that its tool-manipulation hand, and it can still be a sawmill robot, just not one with a built-in saw. The claws are fine though, and according to this post don't count as weapons. I did initially consider a drill hand too, but the weapons restriction prevented that possibility. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  11. Merci pour l'explication! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  12. Ah j'ai compris tout les mots, mais le sens... pas exactement. Maintenent je comprend. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  13. Moi aussi. ~ Insectoid Aristocrat
  14. Not exactly. The domination areas can be observed very clearly on the map by deselect in all options apart from "Control Area". Once you've deselect ed all other options the map will appear as a grid split three ways between green white and red (conveniently, all Octan colours, but I digress) red indicates Kawa domination, Green indicates Mantis Domination, and every planet in the galaxy belongs to Octan, but the ones in White and those around them are the ones Octan players can build on without getting told by the judges to pick a more suitable planet. That's domination area. Now, the ships you were referring to are where each faction has placed it's fleets. Colour coded, again, for your convenience. The green skull things are the Alien fleets. Hope that helps. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  15. Lovely pattern on the floor There. I like that the main floor is elevated. It makes the build feel more dynamic and part of a larger world. Very smooth and pleasant. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  16. Yay! XP! Thanks Judges! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  17. Dark is good. I love dark. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  18. Lucky indeed! While I didn't consciously model this off of the ATSTs, I guess it resembles an imperial walker more than a little. And hey, if your Mech can trip her up, that's your prerogative! Thanks! Lol, yeah, it does have a bit of a chicken vibe to it! Thanks for the complement! And yes, that was a reference to your build! My title does not lie. I am a history expert. I remember everything.. everything... Dr. Long doesn't know much about wrestling... and neither do I.... But I imagine it'll be very good at souplexing, and not being lifted or moved by anything else. But who knows. Certainly not I. It's a good thing that Dr. Long's reputation precedes her! I decided to leave it around until my brother builds his so we can get a fighting shot!... if he builds one. So it'll be around for a week if you change your mind. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  19. It drops robot soldiers, IP drones. Interest-Protector Drones. Designed to protect Octan's interests. Wow! Thanks! The dead people speak! Glad to hear you enjoyed it! Hopefully I can keep it up! Thanks. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  20. That pretty much sums it up! great work Pombe! As always, you've constructed a hilarious build and accompanied it with an equally funny story! Wonderful job! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  21. Wow! This improved dramatically from the preliminary picture! As I said in the private thread, that bridge is quite cool! The structure looks great! Suitably ranshackle. Keep up the great work! Story is interesting too! I wonder what Bruno will find! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  22. Really tense story! Love the foreboding! Great work! The fence technique is quite cool! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  23. I love that speeder! Great parts usages and colour scheme! Wonderful greeble too! And the shaping is perfect. This combo of builds is totally exquisite! Your best to date in AG! Very good to have you back! The story also is awesome! Action packed! I can't wait to see what happens next! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  24. Counselor is excellent. I'm sure he and Dr. Long would get along quite well. Nice build. Can't wait to see more of the lab, and that "not" camera is funny! Wonder what the story is there! Great work! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  25. http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=138516 Ok, I lied. Mine does have a cute tail. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
