  1. Poor Rachel is so worried! she must be more accustomed to how Dr. Long handles things than Pombe. Also, I have a bad feeling about Garv's chances for a safe and... living... delivery... for some reason... Gorgeous build! That truck is absolutely gorgeous! I love it! Everything from the darker colour scheme of sand green, dark red, and grey, too the smooth shaping! The greebling is wonderful! The repulsors on the sides are particularly great at lending a realistic feel to the sci-fi vehicle. You've really stepped up your game and improved exponentially from your first builds here! Your builds are looking more and more like Goatman builds (may his space-soul rest in space-peace)! Keep doing what you're doing! Please! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  2. Glad to hear it! almost horrifying? Thanks! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  3. Wow. This is a dramatic improvement inphotography, first off, and also in build! Wonderful job here! The shaping is great, the overall concept is awesome! You pulled off a large ship! I especially like the cockpit area. The shaping is pretty sweet there. Kinda puggish, in a good way! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  4. Wow. That is a beast of a truck! Fantastic work! I live the crane on the back, and the slopage on the roof of the truck. This is an impressive, heavy-duty workhorse! Great job! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  5. Awesome awesome build! These smooth, clean builds are truly your halmark. The snot terrain is a good idea, and the slopes make it interesting, but the NPU on that hair is phenomenal! also, love the cactus_like plants too! That's a lot of clips in that colour! The bike is nice as well. Great work! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  6. Always great to see Chief Accountant Long, just as irritable as usual. The story developments are very interesting. I'm watching this impressive-in-scope colab with great anticipation! The way all the Mantis builds are on the same page all contributes to an air of forbidding and danger. I wonder what revelations will emerge next! The build, as always, is smooth and clean. Lovely. Great Mantisified police station! I'll be honest, the police/firefighter stations never appealed to me as a kid, but you've done them justice here, and produced a great result! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  7. Wait... what?! This is wierd... it's... not insane? His Pombe taken his meds? What is going on?! great build this week! Love that chunky Octan ship! The shaping is nice! Boxy, but not too boxy, and industrial looking. It's got all the colours in the right amounts too! The trike is also pretty sweet! Obviously, Pombe is naked, but aside from that the build is fairly normal too! Great work! Also, since Kodan's been steady 1 year, that means you've been steady a year and a day, so... wow... congrats! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  8. Always good to see you building again. The cake is really nice. The fig on a plate reference is funny, and the characters are interesting! Nice work! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  9. Shoot. I forgot I was going to reference this in my build this week... ah well. It was crammed as it was, and I'll certainly get around to it this next week. Congrats on a solid year! Wow! You put us casuals to shame, Kodan! You succeeded where few others could, and with any luck, you'll continue to defy expectations and the odds! It's a great build for the years end also. I like the reflective end scene in the meditation garden. Kodan is such a pleasant lad. totally oblivious to the unhinged, unfrocked space marine he's being bullied by! I loved all the film references, particularly Dr. Strangelove! Great build! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  10. Haha! Hope he doesn't play Monsters of Andromeda while he's piloting! awesome relevant build! Shame I can't get the game on my own Samsung. Great work! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  11. Took me a second to figure out which piece the wall was too. You don't see that part used frequently... especially not from this angle. Nice simple build. Interested to see what the doctor knows! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  12. Nice little ship! I'd hate to be attacked by a whole swarm of these badboys! the shaping is cool. I particularly like the 3rd shot. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Dr. Long: "Excellent. How, might I ask, did you acquire this information?" Jebediah O'Reilly: "That's a story for another time. Maybe I'll tell you next week." Dr. Long: "And... the contents of this disk?" Jebediah: "Well, our one-eyed buddy Ba'al Ba'al Jinks has done some pretty serious stuff. Not the bumbling fool I initially took her for. She's been charged with organizing riots and fomenting rebellion. She even flew a stolen pirate speeder into the Queen's palace! She claimed it was an accident, but if you look at the evidence they've collected on her... Well... Let's just say she's a little bit zealous when it comes to instigating 'social and technological progress'." Dr. Long: "Interesting... And the status of social issues under the Queen's rule?" Jebediah: "I think it's more than enough to make the Board of Ethics place economic sanctions on Onix... Or at least it would be if they had imports." Dr. Long: "Sanctions weren't what I had in mind... Why don't you... walk me through this." Jebediah: "Alright." Later Bright Light of Civilization by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr Dr. Long: "Kevin." The Bright Light of Civilization by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr Kevin: "Well good morning to you, Danny! How's business?" Dr. Long: "Just greeeat." Kevin: "Don't be such a Grumpy-Guss, Danny. As a Certified Human Resources Professional, I can tell when I hear dissatisfaction. I'm very empathetic, you know. Now, what seems to be the problem?" Dr. Long: "This task you asked me to do. It's getting a bit... messy." Kevin: "Oh my, Danny, I've never known you to be the messy type!" Dr. Long: "It doesn't suit me... but I need your advice... or... at least... your approval. For what I'm about to do." Kevin: "And what is it that you're about to do..." Dr. Long: "The Oni-Ren Queen will not listen to reason. We've offered her the galaxy on a silver plate. Technology. A cure to illness... And yet, she will not allow us to mine the richest Copper deposits in all Andromeda. Her people are dying, and she chooses to spite us rather than simply acquiescing." Kevin: "Well she sounds like a real Mean-Mandy!" Dr. Long: "You could certainly say that." Kevin: "We could?" Dr. Long: "Yes." Kevin: "Well in that case, I think you and I both know what has to be done." Dr. Long: "And that is?..." Kevin: "I think I said once, that running a business is a lot like running a dairy farm. Did I ever tell you that?" Dr. Long: "If you did, I don't recall. Sounds euphemistic." Kevin: "Oh Danny, don't be silly. You know I'd never use euphemism with you. That's just malarkey." Dr. Long: "Carry on." Kevin: "See, The point of a dairy farm is to get milk for our valued and beloved customers. When the milk cows produce milk, everyone is happy! The cows are happy! The farmers are happy! The cherished customers are happy! The world is perfect and everything is awesome. But what's slightly less awesome is when one of those poor milk cows doesn't make milk any more. That's not good. But fortunately there's more that can be done with a cow than simply milking! A good dairy farm never lets its customers down." Dr. Long. "..." Kevin: "So. Still down in the dumps? Did my little pep-talk help?" Dr. Long: "I think I know what needs to be done..." Kevin: "Oh that's wonderful. See. That's why I trusted you with this task, Danny. You're a smart cookie. A keen intellect. We both work for the same folks, you and I..." And our benevolent corporate overseers, who are always trying their darndest to best-serve our cherished consumers. It's our duty to provide the paying people of the galaxies with the best service, and best products we can market them, and quality employees such as yourself are key to our grand purpose." Dr. Long: "The Oni-Ren need our vaccine, and we need copper. It doesn't have to be complicated." Kevin: "But if it does get complicated, remember. Octan has the best PR department in the galaxies!" Dr. Long: "Very well. I guess it's time to pull up my gloves and get back to work." Kevin: "That's the spirit! Go out there and spread some happiness, and peace, and light." Dialogue by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr "Log date 697, This is Dr. Danielle Long, recording from Cerebus Station, Onix. Mass-production of Black-Eye vaccine has begun. We will have to work very efficiently if we're to make enough to serve the entire population of Onix... I've gone over the logistics of the distribution plan with Special Forces operative Jebediah O'Reilly. He had quite a wealth of insight regarding the vaccine distribution plan. I have to go over the preparations with the Axle staff as well. We will need ships, and supplies, and many drones, so this will have to occur in person, I'm afraid. I've informed Dr. Martenz of my brief leave. He said he'd make sure that the vaccine production continues without a hitch. Alright. Dr. Long signing off." Later... Bright Light of Civilization by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr Ba'al Ba'al Jinks: "Youssa was wanting to a-speak with me?" Dr. Long: "I do. My colleague informs me you've quite the reputation as a political extremist in the Gongen empire." Ba'al Ba'al Jinks: "Umm.. Well, Messa and theresa Queen are no-gettin' along. Shessa be thinkin' that wessa people no be havin' to advance... no be havin' to interact with the offworlders. But wessa the laughing stock of the galaxy. Wessa dying down here." Dr. Long: "I see...." Bright Light of Civilization by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr "Could I ask you a question?" "Yessa!" Dr. Long: "How would you like to be... President Ba'al Ba'al Jinks?" ________________________ While I'm still proud of the build, it didn't turn out exactly as I'd hoped. Two things I'm not so pleased out are first, the sun on the building... It looks like a cross, and that's not at all what I was aiming for. I wanted some spikes pointing out of it to really pull-off the sun-like appearance. Instead it looks like a gravestone or a cross, which leads to undesired implications. I throw a lot of symbolism into my builds, especially during this arc... and that was not intentional. Second thing is I was hoping to add more buildings in the background. That was just a time thing. Didn't want to lose the light! Hope you liked this week's installment. As always, comments, criticisms, and concerns are welcome! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  15. "Good Guys" is registered Octan trademark. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  16. No. They're all welcome to return whenever they like. Even Jon Horsleben could return, and he'd still be welcomed back with open arms. So there's no need to build every week, or avoid a spell of absense. We all build as much as we want and can at any given time. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  17. Wouldn't you rather join an underdog? Kawashita is certainly the game's underdog at this point. What fun is a game without struggle? Or, if you'd rather a winner and an Underdog at the same time Octan is hiring... ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  18. Thanks! She's definitely back. Won't hear too many monologs from her for some time. meanwhile the storyline is about to get hot the week after this week's build. If you want a preview, this Week's build will be called "The Bright Light of Civilization," and the next will be "And Clouds of White." And here's a pic. You're more than welcome to. I'm sure you and Dr. Long will meet eventually anyways. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  19. Thanks! Not a stupid question at all! The "jaw" is the Snake Skull Helmet It's found in the recent Ninjago sets. I got a lot from this set on sale The eyes are just the eyes from the mixels. If you want to feature Oni-Ren in your story, just send me a pm. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  20. While Octan vehemently denies the patently untrue, biased, slanderous, and defamatory allegations that our esteemed once-and-forever Colleague, John Hannibal could even be remotely considered a "Warlord," we would also remind our attentive friends in M.A.N.T.I.S's Toressta-renowned PR division that War brings peace. Lasting peace cannot exist without constant reinforcement. Peace, much like profit, must be hard earned. And here at Octan, earnings are always up. The optimal state of governance, nay, existance, is incorporation with Octan. Our magnanimous corporate overseers are wise and compassionate, and our corporation's structure is efficient and egalitarian. Our society is harmonious and hard working. There is very little dissent or dissatisfaction in Octan. Octan is a Nice corporation. "Octan: bringing you peace, through acquisition." ~Octan's PR Department
  21. Octan loves me this I know, for my Contract tells me so.

  22. Hey, At least Octan has a PR department... Or at least we fund ours. I dunno, For Peace and Profit is a pretty good reason, IMO.... ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  23. All public statements by Octan employees are rigorously pre-checked by our team of expert attorneys to ensure that Octan will not be found liable or held accountable for any fallacies or empty platitudes they may contain, and therefore, Octan claims to be "one of the least false MegaCorps in the galaxies. © " Almost all of our statements are Mostly True. ~Octan's PR Department
  24. Kawashita is in desperate need of players, if that makes the decision making process easier. Seen you lurking around the threads! Can't wait to see what you build! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  25. Unfortunately that is not allowed. We can only join one faction, since otherwise there would be some conflicts of interest. (We all have private pm threads for strategy, and if a player had two characters, that player would have access to both threads. But! you can create NPCs (non player characters) from other factions to aid in your story telling. For instance, you could Join Octan, and create a MANTIS agent character to either serve as your archnemesis, or as your character's love interest, or just a friend who serves another corp. Or, you could join Kawashita and build an Octan character to be your enemy/friend. As long as you only have one primary character, and serve just one corporation, the possibilities for story and characters in addition to that are limitless. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
