  1. That is a large amount of money. I do not have that kind of money. It'll have to be pretty flawless if I'm going to fork over that much dosh for it! (although considering the price there's a very good chance that it will be...) On the otherhand, one set may be a good sign that others could be on their way. I certainly hope that Lego produces more PotC sets! I've been pretty bummed by this thread so far, since it's all been baseless speculation, but this rumour has some awesome potential! can't wait to see more! (And I guess this means I won't have to simply "mark forum read" when I see new posts on this thread! ) ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  2. Kinky! Great build! Hillarious too! How scandalous! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  3. Love this, Phred! Awesome job on the shaping and the imaginative design! I think this is one of your best that I've seen! The sails are so cool, as is the roof! Also, I personally love the white stripe which serves to emphasize the shaping! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  4. Gorgeous! You managed to cram in details aplenty! I love that this square contains so many distinct story elements! It's all fluently blended, and looks bigger than it actually is, as a result! I think my favorite part is the Yellow Mermaid. Excellent bar scene. Great work. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  5. http://brickset.com/sets/5222-1/Vehicle-Chassis-Pack Amusingly enough, I think I got this set. I certainly have the pieces for it. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  6. The Family Restaurant: Squidman's Pitstop The Mezzanine: Chez Albert ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  7. The Invasive Species Story arc has been completed. Part 1 has been updated with a section to introduce first time readers (and those who forget characters) to the story and characters featured therein. Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Interlude Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 (Finale) Obviously, the storyarc left off with a few loose ends, and I'm more than open to collaboration from any corporation to tie them up, or continue the story. PM me if you'd like to join in. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  8. More like A Qira.... Amiright? Beautiful cycle. As always, you've created a truly stellar build. Smooth, sleek, and stylish! Awesome job! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  9. As a result of the fact that I have used my Lego collection heavily since before I was able to appreciate the necessity for treating some Lego "gently" I have a large number of broken pieces, many of which I kept despite their state. I don't actually have many reddish brown clips... maybe 0, actually, but I do know that the most easily broken piece I have are the battle droid arms. Those things are so flimsy, I have maybe 10 broken ones at least. It's always the clip that snaps. also, of course, some lime green bionicle parts from Ellek broke. Of course. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  10. Alright, now it's a firing squad. We've got 'em by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr Once we move them to a more secluded space, I think. Oleon is very strict on Hijackers. ~Etienne du Couergris
  11. This occurs moments before this build. "HP-LC, We have to go. " "No." Star Wars Nar Eubrikka by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr "What do you mean 'no' The Empire is upon us!" "I have received an overriding command from the Captain. He informed me that I must permanently errase certain contacts from the datalistings. I have almost completed my assigned task." Star Wars Nar Eubrikka by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr "There's no time. Here comes Ezra and Zeb!" "Time is not important. Only life." "Erasure complete. Now deleting personal file copy. This can be performed while in transit." Star Wars Nar Eubrikka by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr "Set your blaster to stun, DLL-5222!" "You mean this isn't a stun gun?!" "No. That's a specific setting. It's that blue button right on the side." "You mean I've been killing people?!" "Only if you consider Rebel Scum people. Now we want these rebels alive." "Yes sir." Star Wars Nar Eubrikka by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr "We've corralled them into a trap. Take your time, trip' 2s. They're not going anywhere. I'll extract any data this droid may have in its drives." "Well this wasn't too bad for my first deployment." Star Wars Nar Eubrikka by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr Edit by Goatman. ******************************************** I completed this in honour of my Brother. It's not as large as I had hoped, but given everything that's happened this week, it's the better than nothing. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  12. Never was a fan of this theme. Felt like a bad riff on Insectoids, but with the Aliens as the unambiguous villains. I suppose the theme should have been right up my ally, but somehow it came off as an uncanny valley version of what I wanted. Anyways, the theme did not do well in my town(s). I visited toystores and bookstoresbookstores aplenty during its run from the suburbs of Philadelphia to Bridgewater mall NJ, and they were always on the shelf too long, stamped with sale stickers. I swear I saw the two largest sets at my local USToy just a year ago at a pretty big discount. I regret not buying any, but mostly because now I don't have Zoid mini figures for AG. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  13. "Not to worry. We'll show them how the Glorious Kingdom of Oleon deals with Hijackers. Zeus's light shines everywhere, and there's no crack in the earth dark enough where these men might hide from the law." ~Etienne du Coeurgris
  14. If there's anything we can do to help, let us know. Otherwise, just take it easy. As Dr. Long said "These games are just that--Games." ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  15. Hehehe Congrats on the Tag. I'd love to see a breakdown diagram of them, or at least hear what's on the inside. They're really genuinely spectacular, and I might try to make similar looking palm trees in builds for BoBS. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  16. Thanks for this suggestion. Maybe I'll find an auto shop and see if they wouldn't charge too much for just a silly sentimental request such as mine. This is exactly the person I was thinking of. I knew this was an actual business, and it looks like she's still doing it. I may not have time to use her services this time, but I'll keep that link in my back pocket for the next occasion I have for a custom mask. May want to rebuild some of the MNOG I setpieces eventually, and there are several characters made with nonproduction colours, such as Tamaru, another favorite of my brother's ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  17. Awesome work man! This is an excellent display of some really awesome pieces! Hopefully I'll get a chance to see it in person if I have a free weekend sometime soon! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  18. Curious as to why you don't have the "Master Builder" Tag. This is phenomenal. Those trees especially, I like. The structure is gorgeous. The colours are nicely blocked, throughout. The desert is perfect. Very well done. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  19. I have a Metru Ahkmou Rau that I'd be willing to convert to the Flat Black if it comes to self-done custom, but I've never done a custom mask before, and I don't trust myself to do it properly. I guess I could test my painting job on one of the more modern masks... I was hoping to get a professional mask. I could have sworn there were people out there who did these. Thanks for the advice! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  20. Hi, all. I realize this may not be the appropriate subforum for what I'm asking, but I know you all will be the most knowledgeable regarding my Question, and it is a somewhat time sensitive one. I would like to purchase a Black Noble Kanohi Rau, which I Know would be a customly painted item... and I need it by monday. Maybe what I ask is impossible, but I wanted to know if any of you would be able to direct me to where I may order one such item in the first place. If you have an idea, I'm all ears. If you want to know the reason, I'm planning to make tohunga Ahkmou, my brother's favorite Bionicle character. He liked that he "hated everyone" and was as far as he was concerned, a magnificent bastard. I may consider self-done customization as well, and if no one here knows of a source by which I can acquire a very legitimate looking custom, I'll try looking for a tutorial on how to do this kind of thing myself. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  21. On Farmolis's Famous Octan Olympic Arena, where all the best and brightest athletes have come to train! Including none other than Dr. Danielle Long, who was surprised to wake up to a holo-mail from CEO Pombe, requesting her presence at the games... on penalty of forfeiture of shares... Octan Olympics! by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr "This is Dr. Danielle Long, reminding all participants in the First Andromeda Olympic games to please Drive Safely. These games are just that--Games. Please, do not engage in fowl play, or cut corners. And always, follow the rules. The rules exist for your safety and to ensure a fair contest." Octan Olympics! by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr Octan Olympics! by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr Octan Olympics! by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr ************************** It's a tablescrap, but I figured I might as well whip this together while cleaning off my table. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  22. Thank you. It better be! I've still got so many plans. So many stories yet to tell. So many worlds yet to see. Thanks! Glad you like it! Ditto on the college front. Thanks! Wow, you reread the whole thing? That's a lot if words! (and probably more than a few typos.) Part of the reason I made this Arc was so that Kawashita could write the rest, or at least, continue the story. But if Kawa doesn't bite, I wouldn't mind continuing it. My brother, a true lover of Star Wars, actually inspired this arc with his talks of how Phantom Menace should have gone down. That coupled by the fact that We're alien invaders in this galaxy, and I hadn't seen all that many builds that make this dynamic explicit. Consider it done. It's up to Kawashita (or Octan collabers) to figure out how best to deal with the banana republic of Onix now. (PM me if you want to colab.) Thank you all for your sympathy. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  23. Excellent choice, Major Dirk Allcock. Island Report has been updated. Now Oleon may pick their 3 desired Islands. PS: Thanks for enjoying the writeups everyone.
  24. Hi, I was wondering if perhaps it might help in the ever-present war on spam, if the Report button on a profile actually locked that person's account from posting further until a MOD reviewed the situation, or perhaps, this lock could occur after being reported for multiple separate topics. I cannot speak to how often the report button is used erroneously, but that seems like something like this might help. Then again, this might be too close to vigilante justice for the Mods' preferences. Just my two cents. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  25. Gnewal Gwevus was given the title "The best brother in this galaxy and all the rest" because that's what he was to me. Thank you very much Hinckley.
