  1. That's an amazing MOC, I really love it. I myself have built a couple of 8-wide trucks and this one blows them right out of the water. And the fact that it has so many functions can put even some of the Technic models and MOCs to shame. Great job, 'karmi'!
  2. It's this part, it has been used in the 90s Castle sets as a helmet decoration. Well, 'freakwave' got there first
  3. Well, here's yet another car. With this one I decided to try putting the axles at different levels, and the result is quite diagonal You can get the .lxf here
  4. Yeah, I meant something like that, getting original bands would definitely be too much trouble
  5. I have almost zero experience with LEGO trains, but what about putting a thin rubber band or some kind of tape on the wheels? It's easier than putting it on the track And LEGO actually produced something similar, if that's any indication I like the idea of building some cool mechanism, though, that would improve any layout
  6. Yet another one and it's getting very difficult to come up with different fronts for these cars You can get the .lxf here
  7. It's obvious now that this piece was destined to become a "washing machine piece"
  8. This very amusing piece on 1000Steine.com pretty much sums it up - LEGO is still the best, but some of the clone brands (very few) might offer unique pieces or themes and those are the only reason to maybe pick them up
  9. That's awesome, the fact that someone else comes up with a similar solution proves that the solution is a good one And having released 1x round tile LEGO unknowingly made it even better
  10. That's a lot of awesome SNOT. A great MOC, 'de-marco'!
  11. You should tick the two "high-quality" options right above it, then the outlines box becomes active and you can turn the outlines on, restart LDD and it should be it. It requires quite a lot more memory, though, so LDD might start to lag, but with outlines on models do look better and building is often easier
  12. I actually did shorten the wheel base and it does look much better. Thanks for the suggestion, 'Missing Brick'!
  13. This is just a washing machine that was already featured in my other MOC, wanted to share it. The build is really straightforward, this is the main piece. There seems to be quite a lot of these on sale at Bricklink, I was surprised, because it appeared in white in only 1 set. Anyway, I hope someone finds it useful
  14. I haven't noticed it until now, but they do look quite similar. Thanks, 'ThePlasticWerks'!
  15. That's the problem - the bottom of the car would become too low and it wouldn't look anything like an off-road vehicle. The other option is raising the roof which is much easier, but I wanted to experiment with the windshield and that is why the roof turned out so low. Thanks for your comment and suggestion, 'Zed_43'!
  16. It's been a while since I last posted, but here's something I built some time ago. It's a 4x4 for desert races like Dakar, to me it reminds a Schlesser-Renault buggy. It is painted in traditional Octan colors and fits (just barely - no hairpieces or hats) a minifig. Here's an .lxf and here are the pictures:
  17. Before I watched the video I didm't fully realize how this model worked, but now I am thoroughly impressed! Good luck with the competition, 'Fresko'!
  18. Turns out, somebody actually did that. This part is a little bit bigger, but It does look great
  19. Thanks a lot, 'L@go'! A good solution is a really good one if multiple people come up with it And as I've mentioned in the previous posts, I myself have borrowed some ideas from Lego designs. There are some very nice cars in the LEGO City Undercover game, the louvers and the roof on the red car are actually inspired by some of those, so I definitely recommend checking them out. Speaking about the roof, I tried to keep these cars as low as possible so they are rather impractical now - no hair or head wear allowed The olive green car is indeed rather dull, but that's because I was trying to use the parts that are actually available. Unfortunately, those 1x2x2/3 slopes were available only in dark bley and olive green at the moment. Now there a few more colors for it and there's even a 2x2x2/3 slope. But I will try to do something about it. I mostly create MOCs digitally, can't really afford buying as many sets as I wish. My dark age is in the past, but so are all the sets I owned as a kid But I am working on it. Thanks again and keep the awesome MOCs coming!
  20. I am sorry for reviving this topic yet again, but I came across something I find really amusing. In the original post I pointed out the similarity of my design to that of the 2014 Race car by TLG. It is still true, but let's just say I am now not entirely convinced that the TLG design was entirely original to begin with I've been looking at al kinds of car MOCs and as usual at some point I found one of 'L@go's cars, this beauty to be exact. Looks familiar, doesn't it? New parts make it look more slick, but still. And honestly, I can't blame Lego designers for (allegedly ) borrowing some ideas from 'L@go'. For me his MOCs are a huge inspiration, especially his superb remakes of classic sets, so I wish him the best of luck and look forward to yet more awesome cars
  21. I absolutely love it. Not only it self-steers, but it also looks really good, at least in my opinion. Well done, 'solta'!
  22. Unless an .lxf qualifies as instructions, no I don't. There's a link at the end of the first post, though, and if you have LDD installed, it should be able to generate good enough instructions
  23. I still can't help building sports cars and I blame Split/Second, it's a must-play if you like cars. Anyway, here are two more vehicles, each with a certain idea behind it. in the olive-and-gray one I used 1x4 axles and that influenced the rest of the build, it even got unnecessarily complicated in places. With the black-and-yellow one I was trying out an idea I had about making triangular rear lights. Both of them could do with a bit more room for hair and hats, but other than that they turned out pretty well. Here are the .lxf files for the first and the second one. EDIT: I rendered these two as well. With the first car I took 'L@go's advice and chose another color scheme and slightly changed the shape
  24. I agree, a lot of functions for a C-model, good job!
  25. Those are very elegant solutions, 'hysot', my usual method is trial and error
