That's the problem with LDD - you kinda stop caring about stuff like that) There's indeed a LOT of plates - almost 230 1x1s, around 450 1x2s and something like 100 corner plates. Tiles are also quite numerous - 120 1x1s, 220 1x2s and 100 2x2s plus a whole bunch of longer 1x tiles. So yeah, even if I manage to build it IRL, it won't be soon)

This one is a bit different than my usual vehicular MOCs, it's actually a building. I designed it a while ago and have made minor changes a few times since then. It's a modular hotel, but it's not only modular because it could potentially connect to official modular buildings, but also because you could add a few floors if you felt like it. Here's the smallest configuration you could get: You get a lobby in the ground floor, two rooms with balconies on the first floor, and a two-level suite at the top. But there's also this floor: It makes this hotel a modular modular building as you can add as many of these as you wish. It can be one: Or maybe two: You get the idea) So that's it. So far it's the only building I've managed to design and not be disappointed with how it looked when it was finished) I have to admit, though, there isn't much of an interior at the moment, and the sidewalk turned out really narrow. Anyway, hope you like it, would be happy to hear any suggestions. And if you like it enough and have plenty of spare pieces, here's a link to the .lxf

Thanks, 'wooootles'! I actually like it a lot myself, I am always really glad when I manage to fit 2 minifigures in a 7-wide body, 6-wide is still too tricky. I've also checked you flickr and I have to say, those modulars are amazing

Hello again, I'm back with some more of my LDD creations, and quite a lot of them. Let's get right to it! 1. What I've got here are a station wagon and a hatchback versions of the car from the set 4435. Not much creativity was involved, but I thought it would be nice to give LEGO citizens some choice) If you have a big family, it's nice to be able to buy something with more room in the back, like a station wagon. And if you don't need a car that big, a hatchback is the best option) 2. But those are just your average cars, what if you have some extra money and want others to know that? Then you will definitely love this one, a huge executive sedan: 3. What's that? You have some extra extra money? You should look no further, as we have just the thing you need - a limousine! 4. But what if you don't even live in a city and those shiny modern cars, let alone the limos, are too fancy for you? Don't worry, we've got you covered. These are cars from the good old days of big engines and cars made of steel, not plastic) And if the roads are too bad even for this truck, just raise it a bit and put bigger tires on: 5. Now let's not forget that young people want to have cars, too. But more often than not it's speed not practicality that they look for. I say, let them have what they want: (A little sidenote: I've built these two 6-wides a few month before the 60007 appeared and it's just unbelievable, how similar they are) 6. Obviously, you can't have people driving around like madmen all the time, so - a police car (another sidenote - this one wouldn't fit a minfigure, but the scale seems to be OK) 7. Police aren't enough? How about the military, more specifically, a guy from the miltary? He's not just "a guy", though, he's a green beret, so he can handle a bunch of speeding kids: 8. And finally, something for the businesses - commercial cars: (Yes, another car to not fit a minfigure. The scale is pretty good, though, and I just wanted to test my SNOT skills) That's all! Let's hope everyone's happy and got what he needed) And remember - speed limits are there for a reason and a green beret is not someone you want to mess with EDIT: uploaded the .lxf files to Brikshelf, so here are the links. All of the 4-wides and both muscle cars are in this file, 4-wide 4x4s are here. Here are the hot rod, 6-wide truck, 7-wide truck, 6-wide 4x4 and police cruiser

I guess I'll go there right now. And by the way, in the Carbohydrates post there's a link to his folder on Brickshelf (which is undergoing maintenance at the moment) with detailed enough instructions for his Mustang. Looks like this, very similar to a real Mustang: https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQhn10kVP2npF13-UWReGWHkkt5e8pwlHzKHjG1N1ZmiGAlUIQs2A

Yeah, I've just been thinking of getting a Brickshelf folder or something, because 100 KB limit Eurobricks has for files you upload is very limiting) Maybe I am just overthinking and there's a much easier way of doing it.
-
Thanks, everyone! Well, you know, the one building with actual bricks) The pieces that I am sure aren't available are the bowed bricks I used for the windshield on the tan-brown one. You are right, though, changing the colour scheme might do the trick. Anyway, thanks a lot, 'Si-MOCs'!

Here I am again, sharing my LDD designs. Today I wanted to show you the following three. 1. American-style semi with a trailer: 2. Stunt car. It started as a copy of the incredible Ford Mustang MOC by 'Carbohydrates' (awesome name, by the way) that I came across here at Eurobricks. But I already had a lot of "borrowed" MOCs in my LDD Creations folder and decided to change it a little bit. The end result looks a lot like a smaller version of 8227 Dragon dueler, and that's because I really like that bottom curve. So here it is: 3. Racing truck. The front wouldn't be very sturdy if actually built, but I really like the way it looks with the winch and additional lamps. And unlike the stunt car, it can fit a minfigure: I would really like to hear your opinions) EDIT: links to the .lxf files - semi & stunt car and racing truck

Hi, first time posting in this forum. I've had these "gliders", as I call them, built in LDD for quite a while. Of course, LDD allows to build some great MOCs, but unfortunately many of them just couldn't be built in real life. This is one of such MOCs) There's a bunch of pieces in colors they were never produced, but I thought these could be of interest or even use for some of the proper AFOLs) So here are some pics: Hope you like them) The .lxf file with both models is available at Bricksafe, here's the link

First of all, I have to admit that both of these are not so much "my own". The cargo truck was reverse engineered from someone's MOC that I once saw at classic-town.net, but couldn't find ever since. The dump truck (its hopper to be exact) is almost identical to the hopper Zed designed for his unbelievable KRAZ, definitely check that one out. So, here go the pictures. Cargo truck: Nothing special inside, just some furniture, boxes and a dog: I'd like to point out the washing machine, 1x1 round tile was made for this: Now the dump truck, nothing special here: So here you go, two trucks, one dog and a washing machine. For those interested, the .lxf files are attached. .lxf files are available at Bricksafe, so here's a link to the cargo truck, and here's a link to the dump truck

These are awesome, 'Pepa Quin'! I've been thinking about designing an Outrunner myself, but never got to it. And now I doubt that I should even try)

.lxf is the standard LDD files format, isn't it? Anyway, thanks a lot, 'Only Sinner'!

LEGO should make an exclusive set which should only be available at schools. Even if some kids still wouldn't want to go to school, their AFOL parents would make them)

Just a little post, this is a MOC I come back to from time to time and "polish" it. It's more of a "proof of concept" kind of thing, as many of the parts don't come in the colours I've used: EDIT: added a link to the .lxf file

Thanks, 'Henchmen4Hire'! I like 6-wides a lot, the scale is actually so much better, but it's infinitely easier to fit stuff into 8-wides) I've actually popped out the tank and it does look better. The gap is kind of tricky because of the way the hopper is attached, so it's still the way it was. By the way, love your MOCs, those muscle cars are so cool Thanks a lot, 'L@go'! My 6-wides still turn out kind of janky. That scale would obviously be much better, though. The popsicles were almost an accident, I usually stick to the Lego mirror designs, but I just felt like trying something different. And yeah, when it comes to colours, I am a huge cheater, and LDD Extended makes cheating SO easy) Speaking about 6-wide trucks, those classic sets remakes are amazing.

Hey, everyone! This time I present to you another one of my favorites (I built it, of course I like it) - a 7-wide SUV: I've seen a couple of 7-wide SUV and pick-up trucks on LEGO forums a couple of times and really liked the idea, just enough to try to build one myself. That was tricky, but it turned out pretty good. A link to a bunch more pics on my flickr Here's a link to the .lxf file on Bricksafe.
-
Once again, I'm sharing something I am most definitely unable to build in real life as my LEGO collection is very modest. Also, some most of the parts I used were never produced in the colors that LDD was more than ready to provide me with) Still, the cab, which is the part I really like, can be actually built - white is a much more popular color than dark green. So, without further adieu, an 8-wide Garbage truck: It's a bit on the chubby side, that's a fact, but I still like the overall look. That's what I was going for: I have a bunch more pictures on my flickr page Here's a link to the .lxf file on Bricksafe.
-
Thanks a lot, I am glad my mod is actually useful for someone) I guess you're right, I will probably try that. And that's the problem with LDD - all of the bricks are digital and you can't actually see some things that are obvious in a real MOC. Dark ages are dark, I have to get more sets asap)

That's the first time I post anything here, but there's a first time for everything, right? To be honest, I can hardly be considered a proper AFOL as building a MOC is still something I only look forward to. All of LEGO building I've been doing lately is fooling around in LDD. However, in the last year I've actually got a couple of LEGO sets and I plan to get a couple more :) I especially like the "Great Vehicles" LEGO produced this year, one of which - the 60018 Cement Mixer - I have standing on a shelf right behind me. 60017 Flatbed Truck is another one of those. I built it in LDD and immediately forgot about it, but just the other day I stumbled upon a Youtube channel of an American company producing tow trucks. It gave me an idea of a nice mod. In the actual set the angle at which the bed touches the ground is ridiculous, and pulling the car onto the bed looks a bit clunky. So what I wanted was to allow the bed to slide back just like it does on real tow-trucks, and to make the angle still more reasonable I hinged the rear section of the bed, just like in those Youtube videos I'd watched. The end result looks like this: Bed lowered: I'm pretty happy with the result, I even tried to recreate the bed itself and the build proved to be quite sturdy. In my flickr there are a few more pictures of the set including step-by-step instructions on how to build the modified bed. There's also an .lxf file attached just in case I know that LDD isn't quite like building with real bricks, but the idea seemed interesting enough to share it with someone who could actually test it. Therefore, feedback is more than welcome Flatbed official mod.lxf
