Thanks for the kind words guys! Yeah, the contrast between the body and head is completely intentional, I feel that it gives it the look of an actual alien face, like the robot was made in the likeness of its creator, you knwo what I mean? Like human built androids usually have a face that is more or less human.

Ancient sand strider. This sure has been a productive week for me. I wasn't sure whether I should post this here, but it is a large figure and contains a lot of Technic so I decided to do it. This guy was built over the course of a weekend. It started out as a project to build a body for a head I had built earlier but then it became its own thing when I realized the head no longer fit what I was making. The end result is some kind of mechanical hermit guy and I'm really pleased with it. I'd love to read your comments on it. Thanks!

Hehe, thanks guys, the head design is what started this thing off. Soonish.

This was just a really fun quick build I did while being under the effects of sleep deprivation. The original idea was for the torso to be red too but I simply did not have the required parts. I've considered making this the Robot Devil from Futurama, but the head was too round and again, lack of appropriate parts. The end result was some kind of black wetsuit looking thing, which is not too bad. Anyway, yeah I really enjoy how this turned out. Your comments and criticism would be greatly appreciated!

Realy likin' the use of the glow in the dark bits and I absolutely love the shaping of the torso. The head is a bit on the tiny side for my tastes though. Still, pretty slick overall!

Searing red As always, no real back story to this guy, I just wanted to build something dynamic with loads of red. The Carapace opens up in the back to reveal a jet thruster as you can see on the pictures. The finished product kind of reminded me of something you'd get as an enemy in some Japanese shmup or something so I looked up a cool sounding phrase and the name stuck. I really like the contrast of the tiny skinny frame and limbs against the big hollow shell. So yeah, your comments and criticism is welcome, as always.

Thanks! Well, the the head isn't really blocky, it's pretty much made of curves, but I guess it seems blocky? And it was kinda necessary so I could incorporate the whole organic brain gimmick. At first it had some guns sticking out of the chest and some antennae coming from the back of the head and spine but I though it was a bit tacked on and that just a simple skeletal structure covered with some armor was enough. Thanks! Thanks, the head was wath the moc started with. Because it's not purely mechanical. It has weird fleshy components in its structure.

Flith - Experimental Biotech. So I got a bunch of these white parts a few weeks ago and just started putting them together. This is what came out in the end. It draws inspiration from the cat creature from the movie 9, as well as the machines from the Portal series. I'm rather satisfied with how it turned out. Your comments and criticism is very appreciated, as always!

Pretty sure that was just about the MAX combinations.

That does have a huge PRELIMINARY stamp over it though.

This is much better than all the other attempts at a revamp of this guy IMO. Sacrificing the splitting function is totally wort achieving the hugeness that's implied in all the official artwork. I plan on doing something similar if I get the set.

I refuse to believe this :I

So I came back and made some improvements to this guy. Rather satisfied with them. It did require me to do a Bricklink order of dark red parts though, and even then they didn't have everything I need. (like curved slopes for the fists.)

I just got City and Sub Slizers and the Onyx Roborider. :v

Jaw Beast and Stormer's Crowd Control Machine
WARHEAD replied to WARHEAD's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Thanks! And yeah, heh, I'll post the next thing, I promise :v Thanks to the rest of you folks too, your compliments mean a lot! Like it? It's still unfinished. -
I find that if I try to build in theme with the music I often build something completely unrelated to it in the end. So, like Aanchir I usually just listen to what I would be listening to anyway, and lately that's been King Crimson, Rush and Buckethead. Good stuff.

First of, I wanna thank you guys for the extremely insightful constructive criticism, it really means a lot. I will probably be tweaking this build to include all of the suggestions which I agree with. I totally was not expecting to get such in depth commentary. It really is flattering. You're probably thinking of a Zaku II. Funny you should say that, as the build started as an attempt to recreate it in Lego, but then I did my own thing. :v Sadly I won't be able to get building for a while now since I'm away fom my collection for the next two weeks.

Thanks! Yep, that's all the Dk.Red HF stuff I have, bought an incomplete chi Worriz, for like 2 euros. Don't really have much Dark red System either so I'm not sure what I could do to add more of it in :T As for the crotchplate, yeah, I know it's oversized. That's the point :v

Threat Suppression Unit Number Six No hidden weaponry this time :v This was mostly an experiment in blending system into technic\HF again. pretty pleased with how it turned out. I really wish there existed gunmetal bricks. Anyway, your comments are appreciated, as always.

Jaw beast. Set of the year, IMO.

Used to build Bionicle\Technic stuff before 2008, ditched lego for a couple of years and came back to it with the release of HF 2.0 in 2011. HF mostly attracted me because the figures weren't riddled with Technic holes and I dug the smooth aesthetic as it reminded me of other series I enjoy. Now I mostly build stuff that's a combination of Technic, System slopes and HF shells, with the odd Bioncle part thrown in. I've also started building System aircraft recently, discovering SNOT techniques, it's great fun.
