I've actually used the Hero Factory bones themselves as stands a couple of times, as can be seen here and here. It works well enough, but for heavier models you might have to use those gray friction adders too, or a couple of chains of bones. Hope this gives you a bit of inspiration.

I don't get why you guys don't like the cores on the shoulders, it's sort of like markings on any war machine, you know like faction insignia. This guy looks pretty neat. Love the placement of the little anti-infantry cannon. At least I hope that's what it is. :v

Must have mustache critters. Series 2 is my fave so far, but all the figures are pretty sweet. Also, minifig heads as eye pieces, those should come in handy.

Absolutely blown away by that hurricane mech. (rimshot.wav) But no seriously, I don't really buy many big system sets, but that thing is just, wow.

Thanks guys! The colors really were the focus of his build. Well that and I wanted to cram a bunch of weapons in there, haha, wish I added more rocket pods.

(Click for Flickr set) So this guy was built for a contest over at Piece Out and I just really like how it turned out. The plates on the chest fold up to reveal a barrage of missiles, as you can see in the pics in the Flickr gallery. The colorscheme is unusual but I've grown to really like it. Anyway, yeah I was never good at describing the stuff I make. Your comments and criticism would be very appreciated.

The beast heads look so much better with the larger piece on the bottom, glad all of them have that setup in the summer wave. Still haven't picked up any of this year's HF stuff, but that summer wave is looking really nice, with the cocoon pieces and everything.

Looks like there's some new armor on the shoulders of the good guy sets. Only in the boring gold color though, it seems. :T

Blue looks to be the ice tribe to me. Also white has probably not been used because of all the white tooth and eye parts. That's just my guess anyway.

I personally really like the armor on the torso, a big gut fits the character perfectly. Really fond of this re-imagining overall, although I do really like the original too.

Heh, this guy is instantly recognizable as a creation of yours. Love all the fake pistons on the limbs and the upper torso bit.

I just want the shortest bone piece in dark and\or light bley. Really surprised they haven't produced it already.

You do know kaiju just means giant monster in Japanese, right? Also, mind controlling parasites are a sci-fi concept from back like the fifties.

I still think we'll be lucky to get HF at ALL next year. But that's ok, change is good. As long as the parts aren't useless. (coughgalidorcough)

A couple of other things I noticed too. The first, obvious one, is that we're getting blue shelled jumper beasts in the summer instead of black ones, which is kinda lame, IMO. I was kinda hoping we'd get the main body parts in new colors. The other thing is that the models in the game are based on the actual sets and the summer beasts have those exo-force arm fingered hands even in the game, so they didn't add it just for the episode, that's pretty sweet.
