Simpsons Collectable Minifigures aka Series 13 (non-official term)
just2good replied to kasmca's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Interesting! Thanks for the info! I thought they'd reset the colors and use white or yellow. But, the blue color will probably look good. -
Indeed! The hair is a problem for that, though, but still! Eh, I'm really hoping they don't do a molded torso for Homer. He's not that fat. The can just put belly printing, but even that shouldn't be excessive.

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion

Nice find murphquake! That hairpiece is pretty interesting. Like Aanchir once pointed out, he's supposed to be a very goofy villain, so it really suits him well. Here:- 2,626 replies

Supposedly that was just a place-holder piece count, used for the preliminary boxes.

Monster Fighters 2012
just2good replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
You never noticed that? It's a very neat touch by LEGO! -
No, they weren't saying it was a D2C, but rather a retail exclusive (some recent examples: Eagle Castle for Chima, Coast Gaurd Seaplane for City, Starhopper for Star Wars). That D2C Castle set is another thing. The reason we think Destructoids is a retail exclusive is because it was first listed with the other sets, but hasn't been listed on some sites and we haven't got much pictures of it, which is usually the case for retail exclusives.

Nice finds. Basically what I expected for the back head printing, but it's still good looking.
-
It should say "Artic", which is a spelling error found on all boxes.

Well, we just got a very small picture of the smallest set with The Penguin in it, which is what they're talking about: EDIT: Ninja'd by SMC.

According to 'Votvik', that figure comes in the Camper with Canoe set, which makes perfect sense.

Those sound much better (for obvious reasons), but I really like how that particular set sounds. I don't know why. I doubt it's an Ice Cream Truck, but one can hope.- 2,626 replies

Nice looking set. The new box art is interesting. I like this year's box art for Super Heroes the best, but 2014 better than 2012. Why is DC Comics listed everywhere now? Makes it look pretty cluttered.

Yep, he looks so cute with the little bottom apron and messy shirt. Votvik is the dude who provided the last two City figures and the Super Heroes figures, by the way. The shirt has stains on it too, so I'm guessing he's not really a good cook and the stains represent that on his casual wear.

I'm amazed nobody is talking about my favorite of this batch of leaked figures, which was taken by 'Votvik' and posted on The Brick Fan: It's gonna be in the Camper with Canoe set supposedly!

Meh, never was a fan of these generic henchmen. I wouldn't be surprised if that is the official head. I really wish they'd use these generic licensed characters (example: security guards and henchmen) to release non-fleshie figures like they used to. I'd love to see more tan and black minifigures.

Well, to answer the first part, yes they can change from the preliminary pictures. In Jabba's Palace, they removed a figure. The same happened with the Uruk-Hai Army set from LOTR.
-
Heh, and Simpsons sets might even have yellow boxes. But, I really think we're only getting the House set (as a D2C) and CMF Series this year. That hasn't been confirmed but really what I think.
-
Eh, it's very unusual for a licensed theme to get two D2Cs, let alone in a two year span (of course, besides Star Wars). If this theme lasts for at least five years, I'm sure we'd see another D2C on the fifth year. It's not completely unlikely for a retail exclusive to be $70, as a recent example is the Chima Croc Swap Lair. Heck, if LEGO is as confident as they are with Star Wars, we could see a $90 retail exclusive for Toys"R"Us.

Love these all, especially the bathroom one. And, holy cajoli, I don't think I've ever seen a life-jacket piece used as a chair. That's a FANTASTIC idea, especially for minidolls. I'd love to see more MOCs from her!
-
That's usually because they're leaked figures. Leaked figures are sometimes figures that didn't pass the quality test or whatnot.
-
It's a common thing for factory leaked minifigures to be sold with different torsos, as the seller usually gets the mould first.

Nice find! These don't sound as good as I expected, as I was hoping for more Western stuff. Oh well, I'm sure the set pictures will be great.- 2,626 replies
