The Forest 3 Mafia Sign-Up Thread
Hinckley replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
For some reason, I re-read Ragnarok Now 3 today, including the dead board. I'm really happy you've signed up. Not to play favorites...just nostalgia, folks. -
@Bob, excellent job taking feedback in stride and taking people's concerns seriously. We only grow by taking criticism and discerning valid points that we can be proactive about when hosting again. It's nice of you to apologize, but don't forget you offered weeks of free entertainment to people. Good job! I hope to play an anonymous game some day and am happy someone else is willing to tackle it! I love that you had some of the same frustrations I did, @Tariq j

Come back to the forest... If you would like to play, please reply to this thread with the following information: Have you played a Mafia game before? Are you available to post at least once every three days for the next 4-5 weeks? Are you willing to play an anonymous game with no PMs? Thank you! Looking forward to hosting again. To be upfront from the beginning: there will be no bonkers, fancy mechanics like I attempted to use in The Forest II, Steampunk Mafia, or Prison Riot. I will not be overly upfront about the game's mechanics. For example, I will not confirm the existence or non-existence of a Serial Killer. Say I do not use one and the final Scum is backed into a corner. I would like to leave them the option of claiming Serial Killer or accusing someone of being a Serial Killer, which they would not be able to do if I announced there was no Serial Killer. Just for an example. The standard Mafia rules will be utilized with win conditions specific from the beginning and again, nothing bonkers. Well...not too bonkers.

I was considering running a quick 12-person mafia game. It seems the other interested hosts need at least a month. If nobody else is interested in hosting, I could start a signup tomorrow. Let me know if there was something planned that I wasn't aware of. -
Since I'm getting married the week before, I doubt I will have time...but I do have a table open for myself.

I'll be there. I'm running it!

I have this problem too. It doesn't seem like anybody out there knows how to fix this. I realie I'm asking for help in a topic where you're looking for help, but is LPUB4 easier to use in MAC OS? I'm tired of fighting with the LPUB3D interface. I don't see any reason why the LDView won't add the parts but the renderer is rendering them...

Excellent and thorough write up, @Captain Nemo! I don't think we've ever had such a well–documented topic for any of our displays. As our group grows, so does our documentation! We've been through a lot of growth over the last 5–6 years and I'm so happy to build with this group every year. It seems to just get better and better. I really enjoy the stuff we've come up with, under Nemo's excellent guidance for the amazing creative ideas he has shared for us to participate in. Being able to collaborate but still express our individual creativity is a staple of our group. Over the years, we've figured out how to meld our creative individuality together to seem cohesive in a group display. Great work, everybody! I'm looking forward to many more years, working with all of you, winning or not. Although, I hope we get that fourth win in a row and beat VLUG's record.

You can leave your friends behind. 'Cuz your friends don't dance and if they don't dance then they're no friends of mine.

Ugh. I should really revisit that design.

I reset every member's skin. Perhaps I forgot to set it as default. If your theme option isn't set to default, you'll see whatever you have it set to. And also I forgot to set it as the default. Thanks for the heads up. -
Yes. You can post that in General LEGO Discussion forum.

Death of Lego Investing? Rerelease of Taj Mahal
Hinckley replied to Doom2099's topic in General LEGO Discussion
In other news, the sky is falling. I think it's a little bit alarmist to see two sets re–released and think that it's going to kill someone's investment. LEGO can't and won't re–release a large percentage of old sets. If you're an investor, you should have a diversified "portfolio." If you only bought the Taj Mahal and the Millenium Falcon, then that's a bad investment strategy. I do agree with @Doom2099 that he should be able to express his opinion without being investor–shamed. Everyone, including the investor–shamers, have the right to express their opinion, but why be so negative? If someone can make money off of their hobby, why not? We spend a lot of time and money on this and it's smart to find a way to take the market you fully understand and try to use it as an investment. If you're an expert in something and can make money off of it, why not? -
I noticed. I made it my FB status on October 11th.
