  1. TWO days left! Get those entries in!
  2. Alright, not to let this escalate, I am locking the thread. Jim is the sheriff in this town, so I will see what he wants to do next.
  3. It is the language filter, we try and keep things clean and tidy on the forums so certain words are swapped out on posting.
  4. Well I spent a few days planning and got to building! Still working on the body of the car, but my entry will certainly be done. If we want to arrange a bit of a 'drive in' (or Car Cruise) I think I will build another car, but not an entry, just for fun.
  5. All this is fake-tacular, so I am locking it and warning you that this sort of thing is not welcome on EB.
  6. So you not entering? I won't be a pain, I have a road car to build, so my previous question is moot.
  7. One more question: Do these have to be existing road/race cars in real life or can a Batmobile, KITT , Mach 5 etc be in the speed champion scale? I mean, all of them exist as cars, but they are not exactly "real" in the sense that my Hyundai i30 is real...
  8. What if there are printed parts?
  9. I have passed this on to Admin as they're the ones who control the ad client.
  10. Are you browsing on a phone or tablet?
  11. On that wheelbase it would likely tip over! I think that would be a bit much...
  12. If the expansion is something functional like an awning, or a rack for equipment etc that then fits back to make it smaller, then it is fine. (It also sounds pretty cool)
  13. Second from left looks like a City police pilot from the last few years wearing an Aquazone diving gear missing the visor. The second from right is a complete mashup of parts, you've got classic town fireman torso with modern dark blue legs and a random head/helmet combo.
  14. I will bring it up with admin. I get the odd redirect when browsing on my phone, it maybe the ad client acting up.
  15. That is a bit too big. Sorry. You can make one if you like but it isn't a requirement.
  16. I will have to check that out and see what I think.
  17. But they don't? None of the figures have markings on the small of their backs pointing attention to their "glutes" (putting it politely). Unless the label has a different connotation across the pond?
  18. It does. He is His face is like a slightly more mature (and modern LEGO design) of Rocket Racer. I have a LEGO racers poster stuck to a cabinet and indeed they compare. (The figures popped up early locally). Finally after all these years we get a Rocket Racer!
  19. You can work for either if you want to. Make something rugged to tackle the whole journey or choose a terrain and create a vehicle. I want to see all kinds and Lester wants a good selection to choose from! That is exactly my thoughts on the matter. A physical reward requires an IRL build. I am afraid that Takanuinuva somewhat hit on the exact reason why also: Digital builds include parts that do not exist in the LEGO palette. (as much as we want some elements/colours). It would be unfair to physical builders if someone could draw and render a build with parts that do not exist. For my Tag Only contests I may just consider digital entries.
  20. Good to see you around Outlaw! Hope the entries hit the standard we are looking for and thanks for that cool photo. As for the banner, thanks, there is not much I can do on Photoshop but I do enjoy banners.
  21. Welcome to the wonderful world of LEGO! As people have said, we AFOLs do a lot of different things with our collections. It sounds like you are similar to my brother in law, he likes a good build that takes a little time and then he puts things on display. I can recommend the Saturn V as a great set that could fit the bill for you. Also I personally found Toy Story LEGO was nice, but the builds were not the most challenging. The minifigures were more the focus in the sets. Then again, I prefer to make my own LEGO MOCs, designing and creating from scratch.
  22. Okay, a few studs here or there are okay. A little extra length from features like exhaust pipes, bumpers etc is fine, a half track would be a little wider and choosing larger wheels would certainly push it out too. I want something in the spirit of those two vehicles that is also accessible to a lot of members. I will post a heads-up to anyone who is pushing their luck
  23. A brand new contest with an exciting first prize has begun in Action and Adventure Themes. Come and take a look!
  24. Hello Eurobricks! I am Lester and I live in the fine city of London. However, I am about to embark on something of an: I will be travelling around the world! Encountering all sorts of terrain, conquering deserts, exploring jungles and travelling far and wide. To do that I will need some pretty tough vehicles. That is where you come in. Members of Eurobricks, I challenge you to design me a vehicle to make my journey. In reward, I will come and visit the winning vehicle in person! So what do you say? Does anyone have the perfect thing in mind? Oh yes, where are my manners... The runners up will receive a rather spiffy hat for their profile - The rules are as follows: One entry per member. Entries should be no larger than these examples: . Anything reasonable in between the two, they do not have to be as long or as wide. As tall or as low. Just take these two as the sort of scale expected for the contest. I'm looking for details, features and design, not sheer scale. Entries should be new (never posted anywhere previously). All entries are to include only real LEGO. No clone brands, 3rd party parts, or digital entries allowed. Decals will be allowed if you've made them yourself, but no cutting, sculpting or modifying parts. Entries are to be placed in their own entry topic in the Action and Adventure Themes forum. The title of the topic should begin with [Lester] and then give the name of the entry. The entry post (first post in your entry topic) may be edited at any time up to the end of the contest, so feel free to make improvements if you wish. Entries are to consist of no more than 3 posted pictures of 1024x768 pixels or smaller resolution but may also include a link to a folder of additional images of any size. The first picture will be used for your entry in the voting thread. Photos of your creation can be manipulated with Photoshop for levels, proportions and colour correction but may not include graphic enhancements. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not follow these rules. Winners will be decided by public vote This contest will run from now until 12:00 GMT+1 (British Summertime) on April 30th. And just to clarify, yes, first place will win an actual physical Lester Minifigure, only available at the London Leicester Square LEGO Store.
