Ok, the little Mech is nice and the Monastery is very good. I think that some of the sets have jumped up to my buy list, well, the list of sets to get when the local supermarkets start making smaller discounts to compete with each other.

Use of colour, perfect part usage and a wonderful design. This is beautiful and I have to admit that I do show others some of your work when pointing out to non-AFOLS that LEGO can be an artistic medium. Another stupendous build, thanks for sharing it here.

Heroica: Glory Amongst The Stars RPG - Game Development
Peppermint_M replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in Heroica! The RPG!
Dieselpunk , Raygun Gothic or Zeerust would be an awesome theme. SF but not hard SF, Science Fantasy over Science Fiction. Something like Mortal Engines or Flash Gordon. So long as there is a chance to build -
Um, I caved and went and looked. I like the skeletons, but a lot of the sets are not hitting my list of GET IT, they're certainly on my radar for random discount purchases (Supermarket chains and their unusual price drops FTW). I do like some of the designs though, so it may end up being a case of taking a look at the sets in person and then deciding.

There are sometimes "Starter Packs" or Starter Sets from City. Coast Guard might still be available and fit what you need. Your next best bet is the less specialised CMF series when they are on the market. There is at least one or two figures that fit a City.

Eurobricks member Magma has shared this excellent MOC. Come and take a look in Action and Adventure Themes!

Thank you for sharing this excellent build! The mixture of plant construction and the landscaping are great. I like the pathway winding up to the shrine and second the kudos on that roof method. Have a feature.

I just wish I could have mustered Tesni one last time, but I think the girl from the mountains went missing some time ago. I know I shared reasons in the past and I could never put my heart into her character quite the same way. Now all this is over I think some epilogue to the wielder of Cysgodion is due.. Thank you, dedicated players and world builders. Quest Masters and creators who brought life to countless characters of every race imaginable. You built a place of wonder and shared it with all who stopped to listen. Tap the mead barrel and drink!

Action and Adventure Themes Discussion
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Ok chaps and chapettes, there are like a hundred or more of those Nexo Power things and they would look great as tags. Anyone want to nominate any for tags? Not only to use as potential rewards in contests, but also as something neat I can apply to great Nexo Builders. I realised that I am missing any tags for a few themes and that is no good!- 226 replies

Yes, Tags are prizes, or awarded at the whims of the Staff, just like titles. It is all a bit of fun for the community. Sometimes there are unique tags awarded for mystery reasons, others are handed out for participation in events or community building. Though I am sure I will still be building with little plastic bricks when I qualify as older than dirt, I have a ways to go just yet (only 30!). Getting involved helps to earn a title or tag.

Ooo, Life on Mars torsos are always an excellent choice, one of the great designs that often get overlooked I find. The colour really does ground this MOC into something I could see mining a meteorite in the near future. Thanks for sharing this, have you got any others in this "theme" lined up?

[WIP] Transparent yellow turmeric dyed Lego windshield
Peppermint_M replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
UNCLEAN. SHUN THEM. All joking aside, I am loving those results, I'll have to take a look at my parts and see if I have a surplus of anything that dying yellow would improve. -
Awesome build there, it really does look like the sort of garage someone could muster a Hot Rod out of an old car, I love the stickered parts to add a little character and flare to the space. The little red creation there is excellent too.

I will have to see what the mechanisms are like for this. While the sets themselves do not appeal to me, I would like to know how they work to maybe adapt them to create interactive elements in my builds. (AKA, flying dragon!)

I always love to see your builds. Thanks for sharing this excellent brick rendering of a punk Idol

That is a good goal to work to! Participation in a community is vital to feel a part of it and to also knit it together more. I think I might give the Three Comment Rule a go myself.

Thank you everyone! I loved working on the terrain and while I admire the highly detailed work of many historic MOCers, I love making things that still capture the simplistic classic LEGO design. I miss those baseplates, even if I probably wouldn't build on them like LEGO sets did.

learnt from experience, never use storage box with division
Peppermint_M replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Really really cheap plastic sorter boxes can stink, but then, so can the Pound/Dollar store DVD cases etc. It's the cheap plastic and the low cost production that does it. Residue shouldn't be harmful or it would not be safe to sell the product. -
If you mean the extras ("Spam Hunter" for example) those are fun things we the staff award or "inflict" upon members.
-
Thanks everyone for the kind words I will have more historic builds and hopefully something of a layout to go with the castle in the coming months.

How to get started building up my own LEGO buildings?
Peppermint_M replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It is always good to get a basic understanding of how to build a structure before you design or create your own. LEGO needs certain techniques to remain stable and you also get to learn about parts and how they can interact with each other. Then it is a good idea, if you have a specific building you want to create, to look at pictures of that building and maybe see if there are plans available. That way you can start to "build" the structure with the parts available from LEGO. Between knowing how to build a stable structure and how a building you want to create should look, you can make a MOC! -
For a while there was an insane amount of storage available. I can't recall how much, as it was so much, uploads would never have been an issue! EDIT: Then again, I have only put just over 300 in a decade. I think I can manage with only 600 and change for another ten years, and who knows what will be going on then! Also, just uploaded a good photo to Instagram! Who know what results I will garner, but I shall be comparing stats from EB, Flickr and Instagram...
