Vichy Coruscant is a dangerous place...
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thank you. I was wracking my brains to think of something to call it once I had made it, then a flash of insperation... I was midly surprised to see that I had spelled Coruscant right first time though... -
Generic minifigures vs. named minifigures
Peppermint_M replied to Lord Admiral's topic in General LEGO Discussion
A bit of both. Generic is great for armies and named is cool for making a story, giving them a personality, voice and quirks. But I prefer named characters to have a uniform, or be part of an organisation with a uniform. This I shall explain: At the moment I have lots of Agents lego and I am only going to be getting more. Because of this I have two Trace, Charge and Fuse and about five Chase figures, I have three Break-Jaws a second Spyclops and two Dr Inferno figures. As they have a uniform I can use my large collection of minifigures to create more Agents and Inferno figures. Generics would be useful for making the army bigger without repeating the character heads but I can still create generics or new characters with my own collection of heads. Sometimes, however, I get fed up of generics because it looks like a cloning accident happened at some point with the royal guardsmen, police officers and firemen. -
Vichy Coruscant is a dangerous place...
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Heh. Maybe. It was a quick build while I tried to work out a problem I had building a more complex MOC. -
Pepsicino was my favourite ever flavour. Coke and Pepsi are interchangeable to me. Even supermarket own brand cola is fine for mixing with rum. My preferred non-cola is Shandy Bass or Irn Bru. I am not the biggest fan of fizzy drinks, for quite a while I ate loads and loads of mints, all the time. Not only did coke and other flavoured drinks taste bad with mints, fizzy drinks + mints =... Bad (coke and mentos are an example) so I stopped drinking anything but water. Fizzy drinks once a day to be honest.

Inspired by this MOC I decided to create one within a similar theme. Picture is link to MOC pages. A rebel prepares to take on an officer of the occupation. Vichy Coruscant is a dangerous place for the Empire.

Special event in October 2010 Windsor
Peppermint_M replied to Ras 74's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
It has been decided that I can go, as long as my little Lego-maniac brother can tag along with me. So now I have to achieve my goal of learning to drive before I am 21. -
The cake is a lie. Welcome. Could you say a bit more about yourself? Favourite theme? MOC or non MOC?

Special event in October 2010 Windsor
Peppermint_M replied to Ras 74's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
I can't believe that I missed this topic for so long! I will try my level best to go. I will certainly be driving by then. as it's a weekend date my family's annual trip won't match up as we avoid summer and spring trips or special event days and weekends because of the crowds. I am afraid that my attendance might be easier if it is an event as my parents would go from "Dangers of the internet" lecture mode to "Oooh how nice!" (even though I'll be near enough to 22 in October 2010... *sigh* parents). -
So Sandy's air bubble does come apart ok and sticks to regular minifig heads? Good to know. Love the space dude, needs a bit more retro colouring IMO though, and the jet pack is great!
-
That is very cool. I like orange and random. Dark blue and orange are a very nice colour combination. Forgive this noobish question: What does Block-Block mean?

I wish I could get another cup (I have one small one) but the PaB at Legoland has a large ziplock bag which, while I am able to fit more in, we get charged by weight. Do the PaB walls in other parts of the UK do this? I would love to go to a Lego Shop but it would be a real trip to go there (other side of the country...) and I want to know if it's worth it.
-
Thas cool, hope he can help. (sorry for late reply, didn't notice the topic had been posted in)

Thanks for adding my sigfig Even though I can't be at Brickworld (what with being the other side of the pond and all that) at least a little representative is there for me
-
Well, if avatars become a community effort someone somewhere is going to have all the parts a single member wants. It's a cool idea, helping all sorts of new members just coming out of their dark ages get the avatar/sigfig help.

Deffroi Atgweiriad. Awaken Restore. Super thread necromancy! As per policy, I am posting this in a former topic that fits. My other interests besides Lego are: Simple/fun costuming. Turning my everyday wear into something others would call a costume. Collecting Zoic Androids (Zoids) and building them Writing. I love to write and create worlds on paper. Everything has a story. Playing Super Smash Bro's Brawl and Pokemon Reading insane amounts Persuing knowledge. How about you?

Welcome. Its always great to see new members.

That is brilliant. I love MOCs set in themes where the sky is all. The design is great and your minifigs fit their role perfectly! Have you any more MOCs in this theme?

I have to sit it out a week or two. I have been spending a lot this month (two trips to Bristol, one for a Comic Con, a larger than usual bill on AmEx due to a payment error. Spending) I'm not broke or even close to broke, I just feel bad if I spend loads and loads (a good thing, trust me.). In the intervening time I can create a complex equation on which sets to buy first.
-
Ok. Step one: Sort out this months credit card bill Step two: No ebay. Step three: Get two of the best Agents sets and some of the smaller SPIII (see, if they were in ASDA or Tesco I could get them on my weekly junk budget one weekend.) Step Four: LEGO!!!!
-
They are now on UK Shop @ Home!!! Now I can buy a bunch (once this months credit card bill is settled) Yay!!

Hmmm. Misters Ambassador? Assistance is needed. Let's get some of our valuable community members with TLG contacts to get us the skinny on the logic that justifies a markup. I'm fine with rounding the pennies to a better decimalised price ,(with the change in VAT prices went a bit squiffy), but adding a good few pounds to the price without an increase in content seems a bit odd to say the least. The rubbish £/$ exchange has prevented me on quite a few bricklink purchases (scuppered an entire project) plus the factory PaB and LDD prices going through the roof... I too have a lot of Lego to work with (I yearn for more) but the addition of new parts is a wonderful thing.

My eight year old brother will be most enthusiastic if these do result in some system style sets. "New building system" does worry me though. I too think Galidor and hope that they won't waste a megabucks license on poor construction. If the figures are decent and the aliens scaled right this could make for a good (if short lived) theme.

Is this the Russian date, I knew it was the US date. But I was hoping that it might give some information on the UK date...

Games and Movies and Books, Oh my
Peppermint_M replied to Mraz Skintas's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Much more Discworld. The Last Great Hare Race, by Jasperf Fford, the last book in his Jack Sprat/Nursery Crime series. Any more Thursday Next books he feels like reading. A sequel to Abhorsen, which I know is coming but not for a while yet. One more Johnny Maxwell book. Games and films? Nothing much I really want from there. Quite a lot of films I like will probably get a re-make (as they are a bit old now) and then those will get sequels. As for games? FFVII and FFVIII should have sequels and maybe even a re-make with all the shiny bells and whistles of your current games and voice acting. That's just me (only other games I play are Pokemon, and those games are coming out until the end of time, as far as I can tell.) -
Oh wow. That looks so cool. Does it have a release date attatched?
