Thanks . I have been working on some extra "pods" and collecting the parts I need to make the other themed walkers on BL. I takes 18 parts just to make a leg and if a few aethsetic design improvements look good it'll add another four parts. If the £/$ rate stays good I'll be able to get the parts for a few more mecha.

I get all three in the themes I like the most and the small and medium ones under £10 in the themes I'm not that keen on, but only if they are in supermarkets or other places I shop. With the themes I enjoy but do not wish to collect as much, like castle and city, I buy the sets that look the best to me, or with the best minifigs/parts. I always try and get impulse sets from each theme because it means I get some minifigs and unique parts of that theme at a low cost.

Brand X Music. It's "trailer" music from films and it's really cool. Very active and exciting. Listening to such music helps me write.

Thanks WhiteFang, I wasn't 100% sure on what to call the topic. Its interesting to find out about people's sigs. I'm looking for a new set of lyrics to put in my signature at the moment (trying to narrow it down between a few tracks).
-
That's cool, I have never got the hang of linking in signatures (even if I could I have nothing of interest to add to it) I'll remove the note at the bottom momentarily... Done. I sometimes put such notes in place as some places lcokdown such topics. Seems there is no need here

Hello. I was just wondering about people's signatures (not the sigfigs) why they chose them and where they came from. Banners often tell a tale but do you have anything else to add? My signature came from an Electric Light Orchestra LP's Backtracked(backmasked) content. I thought it sounded cool and summed up a little crumb of my personality. So how about you? Where did that snappy quote, picture or link come from and why did you put it there?

'Scuse me if I'm wrong... Aren't cavalry mounted on something? Horses/Motorcycles etc? Nevertheless those are once again fantastic figures.

Ho Hum Thought I'd post an update: I am planning several extra "pods" for the back including a communications pod, big gun, manned gat, personelle carrier and radiation monitor. I also have several themed ones planned for construction after I have collected the parts I need.

It seems to be that underwater, as the last great unknown of our planet, captures the imagination. Much speculation has concluded that Agents 2.0 is the last we will see of the theme unless TLG really stretch the idea (I am a huge fan, and even I can see that there isn't much else that can be done set-wise) so maybe it will be a replacement theme for Agents? Klaus: Not being mean or anything, but the Pirates theme is far from realistic, it is certainly slightly more grounded in reality than the other themes but it presents yet another romanticised view of Pirates from the Georgian era. Reality doesn't sell well, military is the only "realistic" theme Lego could sell besides Town/City expansion and War is not a "theme" TLG wish to touch upon. All this is IMO however, so take of it what you will. I would enjoy an underwater theme if a more exploratory track was taken. Fighting sea monsters will probably sell better though.

I always add a picture to my MOC posts. I even spent ages going through the tutorials so I could get it just right. As I (currently) use MOCpages, I find the first picture for each MOC is the right size for a decent picture that I can turn into a link to a larger photo. If I am particularly pleased with my model I will also add thumbnails to each of the other photographs (Left, right, top/front/side views). I don't follow links as a rule, but I do sometimes click through photo thumbnails.

I'm not going to vote as I am biased against Star Wars... Space Police III has, so far, got more detalied aliens and cooler ones.

Use them for mafia cars...

I think there must be some sort of Generic brick manufacturer out there that supplies some of the cheaper brands, true bootlegs are too busy ripping off Lego and have really bad quality bricks, figures and colours... I know that the customs officials would stop dangerous/illegal toys entering through such a legitimate importer as Ackerman. The Hammer and Shovel/Spade are really good, in fact the whole set is certainly high quality plastic. I'll have to get a comparison picture of a brick with Lego and Megablocks.

Hello people of Eurobricks. I recently came across a Non-Lego clone brand brick based building toy and thus decided to review it. I found it in Poundworld for, you’d never guess, a pound. (Or $1.60 or €1.16). This is a Little White Dragon brick set, imported by Ackerman, a London based import company that brings cheap but good quality things to the UK for wholesale. As you can see from the Box there are large white stickers over the Chinese characters and a big “Ackerman Toys” sticker on the front. Also, that is clearly not a Tow Truck.... The box contained two sheets of Chinese language information, a sticker sheet, a single instruction sheet and a single polybag of parts. I haven’t included a picture of the polybag, you’ve seen one bag of parts, you’ve seen ‘em all. Here is a photo of the instructions, very similar to Lego. It was a double sided sheet with twelve steps. This is the finished model. The bricks are decent quality, better than Megablocks but not as good as Lego. There were no marks on any of the bricks to indicate manufacturer. Here is the figure. As has been noted by Chris Doyle on his Blog, Little White Dragon seems to be fond of including multi-racial figures besides a simple yellow (The figure is the only major difference to the box image). He is a rather dapper chap, even if he does look like he’ll try to sell a subscription to OK! Magazine. Here he is compared to an old Megablocks figure, a new detailed figure and a Lego minifig. Now onto the interesting part: The tools. As you can see, minifigures can hold them with the same grip as with official Lego accessories. (I love the hammer). Here is a comparison shot of the tools with their Lego counterparts. ( Two Hammers! ) This comparison of the tools with the Lego shows the difference between the two. The LWD Hammer is much more detailed than the Lego hammer and the Spade/Shovel has an extra point of grip (something I believe the Lego one has been lacking). Overall this is a rather good set and a snip at £1, the tools certainly make it worth buying. I will not call this set a bootleg for it is rather high quality and doesn’t seem to have any elements Lego has a claim on (Bricks are a functional design Lego have been unable to patent, beaten in many courts over the past few years). Unless somebody has irrefutable proof of nefarious pirates stealing Lego moulds and reverse engineering elements, I will continue to see these as a decent quality generic brick, they stick together really well (it has survived nearly four days in my non-Lego box). Hope this review has been informative.

Picture links to MOCpages The Tri-pedal all terrain Battlefield mech unit is an example of functional mecha. Designed to get the job done in all conditions, the Triwalker has ocular sensors above each leg to tackle tough terrain, advanced AI and many uses. The back mounted unit can be changed to suit any purpose, from fright to heavy artillery. This unit is being used for rapid medical evacuation from the battlefield. I saw Don Solo's mecha on Brothers Brick this morning and all day I had an idea of something I wanted to make. So I did. I get inspiration from the internet all the time and make things similar to them. Hope you like it.

If all else fails, Exo-Force code plates all have different numbers so you could get a few of those to use as number plates.

*shudder* Can I kill it with fire? Otherwise, I salute you for not becoming too brain mushey and dedicating your life to defending the books, by doing something creative in making minifig representations. You must have a fine collection to create so many.

Brick Built Switch for ExoForce Light Brick?
Peppermint_M replied to Davey's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Changing the positioning of a switch similar to the mecha mounted switch is the best I ever came up with (ok, so my problem was creating a switch that didn't keep it on all the time...) I second the elastic band idea too. -
A chrome robot. A chrome special fireman (after all, the reflective is for intense fires...) I would also like a chrome knight and skellie. More chrome accessories would be cool. A few more swords, shields and maybe spears. One of these would be a cool addition to the Lego town.

Something I found out today: There is a facebook page for the Professor from 9. There are some cool little breadcrumbs of information posted there. I started following it and if you have facebook, jump on quick before its too far to catch up

Misprints and Other LEGO Production Oddities
Peppermint_M replied to Navy Trooper Fenson's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have a Life on Mars torso without any gold printing on it. It looks rather cool. I'll try and get a photo. I have had on off colour brick in my Agents submarine, it was a slightly marbled dark blue brick. I'd try and get a photo but it is in the model now and I am unsure where in the model it is... -
Saw those on io9, they look so cool. I can't wait!

Do people not do history anymore? YG-49, monkies are not native to France. That is a nice little vig. Great use of flower stalks as grass. I was trying to do a small build of the beach landings but I wasn't able to collect any helmets (all my sources for Best-Lock etc have dried up) and had too few soldiers.

Thanks. I forgot that the deadline was soon so it's a good job I am happy with how it looks now.
