  1. Does this mean we can all start wearing the jumpsuit/tunic combos and moon boots that the 70s envisoned us in (Really, I wish we were living in the proper future they wanted us to have) I would love to live on the moon...
  2. Will be waiting eagerly for sets. Will certainly be buying many if not all. End Communication.
  3. Well, I have seen them at legoland and in fact made my own Top Gear figures for the Blog, but seeing as no reply came, take a look yourself.
  4. by Idle Race. The lyrics are by Jeff Lynne, who as everyone should know fronted Electric Light Orchestra, one of my favourite groups and certainly creators of my favourite music. It could be somewhat of an AFOL anthem.
  5. Thanks I am hoping to get a few views of the underside of the Variable Fighter and more photos of the BubbleMint. As for my personal universe? I'm really working on it, there are a few more MOCs I need to make before I am ready to fully unveil the concept and some are near finished and waiting on next years themes and for me to bother to make a bricklink order . Lets just say I am in love with Zeerust/Retrofuturistic these days, which has really influenced both my writing and my MOCing.
  6. Variable Fighter on MOCpages. There are a few more photos. I did build the BubbleMint to fit into my personal universe I have been creating does include the Space Police III sort of things.
  7. Variable Fighter and BubbleMint Just some space craft with SNOT involved. More images will be forthcoming on my MOCpages.
  8. Does anyone know of a good camera with Macro Zoom? I am wondering whether I should get a camera with such a function (as it was advised by David Morgan Mar himself) when I upgrade my camera. However I am aware that it significantly adds to the price (or it seemed so last year when I first started looking for a camera) so do you, oh members of Eurobricks, know any cameras that are not too costly but have Macro Zoom?
  9. Sluban Riot Police Command Car review. The first of a few more reviews I should be posting in the next few days or so.
  10. There are much worse out there... Much, much worse (coming soon). I think if they are in shops again this christmas I will buy the boat and the car in the same theme, they have excellent designs and I can post reviews.
  11. I love how everything fits inside and folds away in the Agents Mobile Command Center. All the compartments under the trailer, the swing out crane for the quadbike that slots neatly in place. The fold out light brick that projects the sticker picture onto a scrreen. That set had some of the best features in a long time.
  12. Nice Liger Zero I was never fond of New Century Zero (I prefer Chaotic Century myself) but that is one great Zoid. Sadly I am not so good at combining my two great hobbies into one. The extra units are very impressive additions to a great MOC. As a Zoids fan and a Lego fan
  13. I am afraid Dino 2010 came out when I was a bit broke (and "too old" to be bought Lego) so I have like, four 1x2 dark red inverts. Thanks for the comments. I think I will have to build a rival tank in a similar style now.
  14. To which I must add, many members on this very forum seem to want. Especialy those who grew up with the classic 80s designs. Its a common complaint that sets are too specialized and curved/wide/big/etcetera nowadays. I too have a boat, the hull was a very nice quality. Also, the guns from this set fit in minifig hands quite well, but the plastic isn't that good a quality, feels like cheap dvd cases (ever bought them from a £/$ store? that kind of plastic) which was disappointing. What I forgot to add: The berets fit minifig heads just fine but the gas mask / riot helmets do not as they have a long peg in the center of the interior socket, that easily fits into the Sluban figures (the head studs have holes right through) but not on Lego figure heads, however they do fit into 1x1 cylinders to make facless drones. The riot vests are by far the best feature, I really hope to find a few more of the riot police sets to equip my army with (I'll have to post pictures of the soldiers I have so far). For £2 its great and I can safely say that kids are very excited to get realistic "Lego" guns without paying through the nose for licensed sets, I found out that Wilkinsons had these sets after seeing a kid tearing open the box and building in the town center! (Was very amusing how cross his mother was). I have two more sets to post reviews about that I bought on my recent holiday, these should be forthcoming.
  15. Bought last Christmas from Wilkinson’s the pictures have sat on my hard drive for months. This set is from the Sluban Riot Police Series that includes a nice selection of sets (Just like any Lego theme). Now I do not know of the legitimacy of the brand as it has been said that it is a copy of Oxford Bricks sets, however it isn’t a bootleg of any known Lego set, series or elements so it might just be an easy way for us in the west to get some of the cool Korean sets. I can’t find any sites in English about the brand, only the linked site in something (A little help please my continental friends?) From the sticker, it has been imported from wherever by Ackerman Toys who also imported the Little White Dragon Tow Truck I reviewed in the past. You can see from the box, it is priced at £4, but I paid £1.99 as it was on sale after New Year. It has 206 pieces that come in a cardboard sleeve and three polybags. The guns are on a sprue and are of a slightly lower quality than the plastic of the bricks. The instructions are linear and printed on both sides of the sheet. Some of the steps can be quite complicated as there are quite a few parts are added at once and aren’t indicated that well. Finally we have the van built, with the men and a small thing made of random spare parts. Unless I missed some in construction, which is unlikely as it was completed when I noticed the spares, these parts are supposed to be extra or there was a packing error. A Close-up of the men that are included. They aren’t that bad however one of them kept losing his arm... The berets and riot vests are most useful for Lego figures, as are the guns (reviewed soon in a massive multi-brand weapon round-up). Overall this is a well designed set. I do have some issues: The back door pops up, which is annoying and the single studs are very tightly gripping so they are near impossible to remove. The Plastic is a decent quality and the rest of the bricks have the perfect grip friction for a solid model that can be taken apart. The other interesting elements are the windows with bars. They are different from anything I have seen in other brands and are quite useful in military MOCs. So here was another Review. I like this theme and its unique parts. The quality is decent and the price fair. Feel free to add mature comments
  16. Heh, nine people, a three bedroom house (I sleep in the living room once everyone else has turned in for the night...) A Lego room is wishfull thinking on my part. I do have plans for when I move out but that will be a few months yet (gotta learn to drive). I just want a big table and space for all the subdivisions in storage . Nice table you have there
  17. I love them. The chimistry involved in their make-up and the effort that goes into the big displays is amazing. We watch the fireworks at the end of the Torbay Regatta if our holiday coinsides with the display. It does annoy me how many people don't have a clue about the history behind the "Fireworks Night" of November 5th. But then ignorance always vexes me . We had some fireworks at a party once, but my dad wouldn't let me help light them (I was about 12 though.) I wonder if I can get some friends to let a few off the next time we have a party...
  18. Well, I have music from my laptop, ES Posthumous, Anime Soundtracks, Vangelis, Enya. Something that sets a mood if I am MOCing. If I can't play music (like my annoying sibs are about) I'll hum a bit, some song I like at the time or something of that ilk. I always sit on the floor, on the carpet. If it is a huge set I will have a board down as a solid base, but otherwise its bare carpet. I have a bad habit of twiddling my hair, it is about mid-back length, which means I have to pull strands out of MOCs and sets when I am finished or have paused. Nothing else really.
  19. I've been reading a lot of 50s SF and books of collected Pre-Star Wars SF artwork (for the books covers of SF books) thus all of my MOCing of late has been based in space and I have been writing a guide to my galaxy in a similar tone to the TTA books and Galactic Encounter books (same writer, y'see). I just love those books.
  20. After reading that article, boy they should have explained the object better to the five year old, he didn't seem to understand the idea of the task... Yes, we all have our own words for Lego bricks in my family. This started 13 years ago when me and my sister and my mother played and has contiuned to be added to as the years went by. Nowadays it is me and my 8 year old brother in the Loft building in our seperate halves. Our request for parts is described in a mixture of "family" names how an 8 year old describes parts and a bit of fan speak from me (plus some of the obtuse Bricklink discriptions). Often times we just wave a part at each other and ask if there are any spares in the right colour in the others collection. Why don't we turn it into a guess the part game? We have: Clippy top, clippy side and clippy. Smooth left long slope. Oven. and side bits. (Just off the top of my head) It would be interesting to see if we share similar names for parts and if anyone can guess what I am refering to.
  21. Monster 4, 7634 Tractor or 7638 Tow Truck?
  22. Thanks. I have to say that about the only thing I'd change is get rid of the bley for complete dark red, but I don't have any dark red inverts and this was a real throw-away MOC I made to kill time and I bigger MOCs to buy parts for. The wheels were supposed to give it a cartoony feel as I was thinking of the Advance Wars sprites and the Crash Bash tank battle tanks when I built it. (wow, bumped from over a month.)
  23. Just over a year is the longest I have ever left a set. This honour is currently held by the Agents Rolling Command Center. I MOC more than collect, so if I ever encounter a problem with part shortage or colour needs I will take apart my sets to get those parts. If a set is very good I will find it harder to take apart. I do have some complete 6625 Speed Trackers, but I bought that recently so it doesn't really count. (I did have one way back in 1996, but I took it apart quite quickly).
  24. But I like transblack! Oh well, I hope they replace it with a good colour because most of my ships look their best with a transblack canopy. Maybe more clear and colourless will be produced (I am not too fond of transblue) to replace it.
  25. Thanks Everyone. I had a great day (Was on holiday in Cornwall) and Toffee Vodka I got three pages
