What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Peppermint_M replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
A Castle Building Box. We need a big box full of bricks shades of grey, arches of different sizes, all sorts of different bricks alongside "roof" slopes in on colour. Then "special" parts doors and hinges, flags and windows, throw in a few basic soldiers in uncrested chainmail and some swords and you have a really good supplementry set to go with the new Kingdoms sets! -
*Making in advance to the fallen object!* Is that my knife?! Not a very secure locker Mr Security. If anything happens to my stuff you'll be in for a lawsuit *evil glint* Hah!

Oh god, I am so broke. New castle that is more castley than the current fantasy stuff (I do not want so many war machines I want castles bits) a racers series that looks awesome? TRAINZ. Add to that Atlantis, PoP, Toy Story, Power Miners, SPIII and collectable minifigs? Looks like I am going to have to make a strict budget for my Lego purchasing spread out over a year (instead of current: Splurge every wave, little sets inbetween) or else I will be so broke. Also space issues... Ima going to have to get my sorting hat on and start working out what to do to make more space... Lego, my anti-drug, anti-drink and by the seemings of it, anti-going-out-socialy.

Well, if taking me on a trip was so much trouble I would have gone on my own. Are we approaching the ferry yet? *considers chances of getting knife out from the safety locker*

Mac is the best for video creation (or so my sister keeps gushing. Always been more of a PC girl myself). Take small steps first, a short animation without much going on. Look up different techniques used by professionals, some of the best out there started in their bedroom and have told of what they did to create their first short films. I may have never been able to animate myself but I have read a huge amount of information in preperation!

Anyone else just have a accumulating pile of bricks?

Keep an ideas book. If a detail pops into your head sketch it out and have a go at building it, if it doesn't work maybe you'll hit on a new idea as you work. I also second the "leave it alone" advice, if you get too stuck, walk away and get on with something else. It worked for my last ship. I had the best top half I had ever created but had hit a dead end on the underside. I left it for a day or two and when I went back to build I came up with something great. Sorting parts also helps me when I am stuck. Organises the mind and might turn up a solution to your problem. -
Grandma went a long time ago, she was about my age. As for the knife, I suppose because I carry it around with me all the time I kinda got used to it being there and now it isn't on my person I feel "weird" like when you forget your watch or something.

Well, she told us that as the moon got redder howls came from the trees, all the guides ran away. The shadows...moved and people disappeared only to be found dead if at all...She never went into to much detail, gives me the shivers just thinking about it. *smooths locket between thumb and forefinger* That's all she really said to me about it, I think she lost someone that day and didn't like to go into detail.

Grandma came here decades ago, she would tell us the story every time we went to vist. She said there were monster demons that carried off members of her group... Pretty creepy stuff, came out when the moon went red...

*Urgent aside to Zachary* They took my knife,*slight panic* I take it everywhere! *Smooths locket nervously* It's nice to coming here, Grandma had a trip here last lunar eclipse. Always told me stories even if she was batty as belfry.

I have been published in Structo magazine. I still write and draw at times and maybe one day might make a childrens book or write a book. I used to fanfic under a different name. I am a member of Gaia Online. I adore SF artbooks (let me know if you have seen/heard of any good ones!)

I adore hats, I have: A Black Top Hat, a leather aviators cap and goggles, a german police officers hat from the 60s, a fleece spiked snowboarder hat, a purple knitted hat with ear flaps, a hat of the cat from Trigun, a Skull Bear hat with ears, two very furry "russian" hats one in black and grey and one in brown. A trilby a peaked hat and a bucket/boonie hat in olive green. I want to get a slump and possibly a smaller drivers hat and an army helmet. I also have three different styles of leather jacket and a long oxblood red leather trench coat.

I think they'll come as full figures, else they are setting themselves up for all sorts of "false advertising" problems with adults and children who thinks it's sucky that they don't get the right parts and move on to the latest series of Go-Gos and Ben 10 rubbish. To compete in the rather fickle field of tradeables for the under thirteens they need to be one full figure in each bag with all the correct parts, not mixed. Now I need to figure out how many to buy at a time... -
Polysnow, snow that looked like polystyrene beads. It is bloomin' freezing but no precipitation yet. No problem for me, I wanted to go to Cardiff tommorow and if it did snow badly today I would have to walk in to work and no one else would be in the office

Hi everyone... I'm Penny Maltese, this should be a great holiday, Zachy is so wonderful to take me. -
Yeah, the older stickers are a bit of a problem. I took them off the sides pretty quickly but I was very cross when I started sorting my Lego and found the slope without a sticker and one very glueless sticker at the bottom of the box... It really was one of my best sets for years and taught me how to build 4 wide cars.

INDEXED The year was 1996, stuff happened. I wasn't aware of much of this as I was eight years old and eight year olds are not known for their grasp of current events. However one thing I do remember about that year is this set: 6625-1 Speed Trackers. When I was a small child the summer holiday was punctuated by two events, our holiday in Devon and Nana taking us shopping for a present. That year I had four Lego sets (money was always tight when I was younger, explains my appreciation for clone brands) and Speed Trackers was the largest. I went shopping with Nana and this was the set I chose, I remember building it and playing with it and basking in the decadence that was a set with two Lego people and a motorcycle! Well, enough of that, on to the review! Here is a photo of the box, courtesy of Bricklink. It was a mid-small sized set comparable to 7236-1 Police Car with only six pieces less. I believe it came in a single polybag but don't quote me on that. There was a sticker sheet and an instruction sheet. This is a side of the instruction sheet, thanks to peeron (full instructions) . Two sides of instructions with nice clear steps. Again, I can't say how long it took me to build it, thirteen years is a long time to remember back to pre double digits... The Built Set. A car with lift up canopy, traffic cone and the all purpose megaphone/torch/blaster here appearing as a speed gun. The motorcycle with dual panniers printed with Police, front headlight and blue light at the back. The classic motorcycle really is classic, comparable to vintage motorcycles IRL. Unfortunately the stickers are missing, as two were stuck over two parts and the glue died on the sticker applied to the slope. Interesting parts: The motorcycle of course and the wheel welled 4x4 slope, useless for anything but a 4 wide car but very 90s town. (Slope image via Bricklink). Our two brave officers of the law, clad in the police uniform of the 90s town, the best in my opinion and with identical heads (I call that head Bob, therefore all figures with that head are Bob, I had about six Bobs growing up). A helmet for safety for our motorcyclist and a stylish brown hairdo for the officer in the car. In all, this set is a good one, the design is typical of the time and would be a perfect addition to any 90s town plan or a fan of 4 wide cars collecting. It has a great amount of play value, giving me years of play, the motorcycle being a vital part in many a game and the chosen mode of transport to my favoured created characters. I hope this review was useful to you all, especially those who missed the 90s to their dark ages and those few who weren't old enough to play with Lego System.

A Little more... - I devour books, however I wasn't able to read until I was 8, something just *clicked* in my head and within a year my reading age was the level of a normal 14 year old. -I can write backwards and from right to left, it was how I first wrote (and clued people in to the prescence of some minor brain issue that causes it). This also means I can read from any angle and I form all my letter the "wrong" way around, much to the rteachers dispair. - I love curry, the hotter the better. - I love great big chunky boots from New Rock (like the Judoon wear in Doctor Who). - About the only television I watch is very early in the morning cartoons, Doctor Who and some random interesting documentary programmes. I hardly ever watch in the evening. - I like Anime and Manga. Comic Books and Cartoons.

Considering Megablocks is thebest quality non-Lego on the market and Galidor was a buildable action figures series... I would say: It is as bad as the cheese in McDonalds cheese burgers in comparison to a really good mature cheddar.

My name is Christie Lee, named for the Billy Joel song. I am the eldest of seven children. I am an embarassingly huge Final Fantasy fangirl even though I have never managed to complete the games (time and ability are an issue). I cannot read analogue clocks or dials and I have issues with rulers. I have several odd hats that I wear on random occasions. I am training to be a Civil Engineer. I have cosplayed on several occasions. My picture on my profile was taken in Kelowna when I went for my uncle's wedding. I was a living cliche at the school ball when I lost the glasses, had a hair cut and dressed up. It wowed the year more than my friends full tux, lime green cummerbund top hat and cane. That's enough for now

I reviewed the a Pirate Building Set... It was bad. Very Bad.

I'll keep an eye on Lidl over here and see if I can find a set to review. Nothing will beat Tatco for dreadful quality, let me tell you! I wonder just how many clone brick brands are out there?

Well, when I was small I collected TY Beanie Babies. Then I collected dragons (cuddly ones) I have a cuddly Duplo Dragon from Legoland . I have always been collecting books, since Famous Five and Secret Seven when I was little to Discworld and Jasper Fforde now. I also collect trade paperbacks of Justice Society of America and Elseworlds. I collect Zoids and cool action figures and trading figures from Final Fantasy. I have a collection of polyhedric dice and sand timers... I am a collecting person. I do not see my Lego as a collection as it is much more dynamic to me, MOCing is my hobby and I take sets and figueres apart (While the most I do with anything else is customise my "double" Zoids). Considering I don't have much space I certainly have a lot of collections!
