  1. *jumps up and down waving* Not all girls like fashion and shopping etcetera. Besides that, Lego won't have any success competing against Polly Pocket in that respect. What Lego need to do is have a lot more "incedental" women figures in sets, like Playmobile. Other Little Brother adores Playmobile and I have a soft spot for it too, so I buy him sets. It just so happens that there is a femal robber, a policewoman, a lady vet. They aren't "Look! Look! We have included a girl!" they are just figures in a set alongside other figures. (By the by, for newer members, I did have the Lady tag until my recent ascent to Fellow.)
  2. The Great from The Big O soundtrack. That was one cool anime.
  3. So it won't be a supermarket/highstreet thing? Damn. That's going to eat a hole in my pocket. 32 figures in two waves... We shall have to create a trade topic to swap figures
  4. We had a big conversation on this a few months back (but I cannot remember the name so I can't retrieve the thread). Lego doesn't make very many "girly" sets or girl figures, society has an ingrained set of gender roles and associate dos and dont's for both so girls don't play with construction toys and boys don't play with dolls. As much as part of me hates to admit, many girls (despite the best efforts of radical femmenists) love pink and barbie and all those other things. At the moment, girls who play with and buy/request Lego beyond pre-school Duplo or girly Lego are a real break from the norm (like me) but it is getting better as we go along because parents are becoming less rigid with gender roles. That is all
  5. Well, you could crack open the good book and take a look at something you could build from Lego. It is rather large and all of it does relate to God and Jesus.
  6. Ah well, looks like I am going to spend a few days looking for a new host to fix up my clone brand reviews.
  7. Ahg. I now need to find somewhere to put all my random pictures that won't be allowed on MOCpages and don't want to put with flickr. It's too bad if brickshelf is gone forever. Its relative simplicity was best for my review pictures.
  8. Ok, lets all agree to disagree. If it was cheaper I would be reviewing a Halo MB set, however it can't find a set I want to buy. Flipside is a blast from the past, used to read it in the school Library (that and BBC Focus, Time and National Geographic), thought they researched things a bit better.
  9. Hi, there. Maybe a few Lego related things might help us, after all this is a Lego fan website So what Lego themes do you like? Do you MOC or collect sets? Are you getting back into Lego or just started/never stopped?
  10. The music is my sort of sound, the lyrics and vocals? My sister (maybe, she might be in a new music phase..) and my mother would like. I was quite disappointed at the lack of Zoids. All those Retro toys and not one Zoic Android...
  11. I hope so ever so much. I love custom figures. I think very few of any I have built at the moment came that way in the Box. I swear those new collectable buildable figures will be popular with little girls too, especialy if there are enough "girly" parts to collect. I can see the boys and girls trading parts to get rid of yucky girly/silly boyish minifig parts. This should be a huge success if it is what we are imagining.
  12. My Word. Those are beautiful. My mother would kill for a layout like that (no kidding, she keeps nagging me to start a modular town) those MOCs are the best I have seen in a while. It always fascinates me how people can make such wonderful buildings with detail to scale and functionality. Welcome to the forum.
  13. Vinyl is the format to listen to music in. I sit with my dad sometimes and we go through his record collection all afternoon. I also am fond of listening to music on a tapedeck. My second other is my Walkman, I do not own an iPod, I plan on never owning one. I love my 8GB Walkman (in silver and orange) its MP4 and much cheaper than anything Apple puts out.
  14. Bat Poop can be quite informative actually (When your office fixes bridges you have to learn about rare breeds dontcha know) That would be so awesome. I imagine a UK release would be about £1.50, to compete with Go-Gos and Match Attax (target age group siblings current fads) thus I theorize I will be buying a box or three from the Cash'n'Carry
  15. Thanks. Most of this dark red came from my Exo-Force collection. I love the shade myself and hope to get hold of a bit more.
  16. If all else fails use a thickish needle or pin tack/ drawing pin. Push it out from underneath. Easy and safe!
  17. I collect parts. If I think that a certain figure is "cool all over" I get that figure from Bricklink/eBay if it is old and I try and get the set if it is new. If I like a particular part I'll get that from Bricklink. I love making custom figures and have done since I was a small child so I get as many parts that I like as I can to make characters, people and my own made up characters. I have 359 figures according to Brickset, however I have more if you count old figures from mixed boxes and figure parts, not sure how many more though.
  18. I love the moment when (pardon the pun) everything just clicks. The point in a build when the parts go flying into the MOC and nothing can stop you until it is finished and perfect. It may occur minutes into a build or it might take days to snake its way into your mind, whenever it happens it is the best moment. Pure Creativity. I love that moment in anything I do that is creative.
  19. Not watching. I did get the free glasses because 3D glasses look really cool when you wear them (why yes, I am eccentric) and I had a fun weekend wandering around with them on. I don't find them uncomfortable myself. So, anything paticularly good or was it all gimmicks?
  20. Well, the guns were a holdover from an older unpublished MOC and now I look I can see that they look a little silly. As for the bounty hunter? She was the pilot of The Haniver (brief bio on the MOCpage) and is one of the many residents of my universe. The first ship fell apart, so keeping it in universe: it dropped it's hyperspatial synergy drive when leaving fold space and the resultant fluxwave disabled all the systems, right on top of a large pirate base. Barely managing to escape in a stolen pirate cruiser she made her way to her home base and go a new ship built. Also: I named this ship for a type of red flower native to Japan, with a well rounded mythology due to it's autumn blooming and natural habitat in areas used for cemeteries.
  21. Work. Did a letter drop, handled some phone calls and carried on with my database. Then I bought new headphones, took photos of my MOCs and tried to watch Doctor Who on iPlayer, no luck... It was an ok day. Good luck with the finger! My little brother broke his finger (crushed really) and it didnt talke too long to heal.
  22. Lycoris A custom build by the best designer and ship builder in the galaxy. Created for a certain bounty hunter after her ship dropped it’s drive. Another Cruiser in similar style to BubbleMint. I have settled on the uniform “base” for all personal spacecraft in my universe, so plenty of variations on this theme shall be forthcoming. I'll post more pictures when MOCpages works. All the photoservers are so slow right now! EDIT: Lycoris on MOCpages.
  23. When I was a teen and still buying and playing withe Lego my mother was a little non-plussed to say the least. My dad didn't mind (it kept me out of trouble in the house intead of hanging out with "the wrong crowd") my sister thought it was ok and my little brother thought it was the best thing ever. Now that I am in both legal and social estimates an adult my mother is resigned to the fact and likes it when I let her build the town sets (she is trying to convince me to buy the medival marketplace). My work collegues know it is my hobby, but they also know I am a nerd. One guy loves motorcycles, the other watches two films a day. We all have our hobbies. One person called me a loon, but in a good way. No one has a problem with my hobby I have passed the weird teen thing and passed ino Eccentricity.
  24. I've made another craft in similar style to BubbleMint, I'll post it tommorrow somtime. The style it has really fits well with the concept so I shall be building a few more. I might try and make instructions for the basic shape to share with the forum so I can see what everyone else wants to put into my universe .
  25. I bought Spped Racer vs Snake Oiler and a single white cheese slope was missing. Its not much of a bother with common parts and I was able to replace the missing piece from my collection. Uncommon parts are much more vexing, phone/e-mail the parts replacement service, they'll send you a replacement.
