  1. Thanks for the review! This is shipping to me as we speak (ok, so it is likely sat in a warehouse somewhere, but the email said it is coming!) lots of great parts then and the minifigures will certainly be useful.
  2. Purple 2010 is a good year for my favourite colour! I think I will be getting more than impluse sets from SPIII if the rest are as good as this.
  3. Speed Racer. The cars are perfect representations of their movie counterparts. The figures were all fantastic. Although some set designs weren't that good, the most important thing, the cars, were fantastic.
  4. My sister makes it cheaper. If anything, they should only cost as much as the Lego parts and a fraction of the cost of the clasps/hooks/studs, plus a tiney add on for profit. Honestly, my sister could make me a pair of earrings right now. (If I'd let her ). I guess it costs that much for some reason...
  5. Ach, Robotboy was just an American rip-off... *grumble* *grump* lol. I am wondering if the film means they will start re-airing the anime series on TV, I do have it on DVD, but in the wrong region. Having not been able to see 9 yet (still not out in the UK!) The list of films I wish to see just grows and grows.
  6. The legs make them look like Zentradi walkers! Love the detail in the design. Making MOCs that can be re-coloured into a vareity of "purposes". Great Build.
  7. More ruins would be a great help. A classical greek temple would be a nice buy, however what I picture is probably something along the lines of a master set of pricey awesome. Another set that could do with a box of bley bricks as an add on. This line looks like it will be another success for Lego. It is a sad but true fact that kids prfer things that they can swoosh and zoom over things that are, well, buildings. They really could do with an added box of bley bricks and seaweed elements to make scenery with. Bestlock sell sets with an added handfull of bricks in a colour that matches the contents, for added building. It is a practice Lego should follow, it can't cost too much more...
  8. I prefer diversity. I love to make unique characters out of my minifig collection. If a set comes with tempting figures or parts for figures I will buy it. I have a decent figure collection (360 according to sets, not to mention random parts I bought/swapped/was given) and I have a handful of my figures as they were bought, the rest are custom.
  9. Oh my, I will be getting a lot of those sets as soon as i can! The uniforms and diving gear are brilliant and the sea creatures look even better now there are high res pictures. The red machines are a good counterpoint to the black Atlantean monsters. A good mix of figures and vehicles in sets plus a range of sizes. I think the only disappointing one is the Manta-Ray impulse set, its just the figure and a tiny rock. That said it is perfect for army builders.
  10. Dead Fantasy. All of it Wish I could animate at all.
  11. It could also be from the Dragons line of sets (the one with the superior weapons). The nice moulded wood effect and paint applications make it useful in any number of MOCs. Edited for spelling
  12. Milou! That is very cute, looks just right. He looks like he is ready to pop out and warn everyone about a nogoodnick who snuck past.
  13. Ok, so plenty of stuff to read. I just went to a comic con. I also have the brand new Discworld novel Unseen Academicals, with added freebie goodness. the MOCing may take a back seat to hours of reading.
  14. I have three. Dresses have never been my thing (In fact Pepper Roni's legs and Indy's gunbelt are my favourites for custom figures ) I have the castle maiden and the witch and the crownie queen.
  15. Vangelis, Cosmos. Perfect music to chill and expand your mind to. I am listening to lots of Vangelis.
  16. Handfulls of Lego Dogs I also got some random things in PaB. A magnet set and Drawbridge Attack. And Two large shopping bags with Lego things on. Legoland
  17. I'm sorry to hear of your recent circumstances. Lego as a hobby is an odd one to maintain. You build and build and spend lots of money on it. Then something occurs to put it into perspective (It is a childrens toy after all) and you put a subconciuse block in place (A grey age). About five years ago I had a grey age, my Lego had been put in the loft, my parents had issue with their teenaged daughter playing with Lego still and my peers were determined to make school life mental anguish. All this made me stop, loss of inspiration, loss of motivation. Eventually I got back into Lego by changing the way I "played" with it. A few new themes came along and I started getting them and building how I felt. Prior to this I had built lots of wacky themed town plans and castles, now I build space craft and SpecFic inspired things. Maybe you should change what you MOC or if you only collect, why not take the plunge into MOCing? I know every mini "grey age" I fall into I always get out of after inspiration hits, or a new wave of sets pop up in shops. I hope my suggestion helps. Don't worry if you can't bring yourself to spend that much on toys. You will find a set that will force open that rule
  18. Well, screw it. (if admins are going to make a third repeat topic, four if you cout the one merged into the second topic, then whatever) I am going to Legoland Windsor today So I will quite likely come across some. I might get one if they aren't stupidly expensive.
  19. The Terran Trade Authority Handbooks. Lavishly illustrated tomes with SpecFic presented as Science Fact. They are wonderful and I have two of four. The art is fantastic and the writing good. If you ever get a chance, take a look at a copy and see what i mean.
  20. You need permission from the landowner, be it private or public. You must report any find that could be classed as treasure and it is illegal to conceal the site from authorities. I think they had been searching the site for a few weeks on and off but not found anything until the treasure.
  21. You know, there was already a topic about these light up minifigs
  22. I am going to go and see it on Saturday . Me and my friends are in Birmingham for the day, and the museum is displaying some of it (until 13th October).
  23. It's special Christmas?New Year gift. The rest appear in January
  24. They are lego. Most clones and ripoffs re-brand or are of inferior quality. Older parts have different markings to current moulded Lego. Many clones also have a peg in the center of the headgear (fully hollow head studs on their figures mean they slot in firmly) and the better quality clones have significantly different moulding and plastic quality. Hope I helped
  25. I'm cool for any time of year, as long as it is in the UK, I don't think I would ever be forgiven if my little brother couldn't come along. 2011 would give me some more time to get the space for larger MOCs to be built that I can bring along. I certainly don't mind a postponment.
