  1. Space Version is really what I am aiming for, my chosen "look" for my universe is normal IN SPACE. I have made space bikes, space cars and now space trucks .
  2. Zachy? I seem to be on the floor... Under a chair... Little Help please?
  3. Well, I take a craft knife or a Stanley knife and slice along the glued end, flatten them and push them into an old carrier bag until it is full. Then I take them to the recycling center and throw them into the "Cardboard Only" skip... Saves no end of space. Bricklink, Brickset and my folders full of instructions retain the information that the box has and I have no plans to ever sell my Lego (plus a box? no one wants an opened box. MISB is the only way to get shot of that cardboard). If you have to keep them then gently seperate the tabs and flatpack, but when you have those preceiouse plastic bricks do you really need to? The only boxes I save are a handful of Zoid boxes and my Final Fantsy Master Arts figure boxes, for future transportation reasons. They are all stacked in the loft and support my building board.
  4. We are back on dry land, thank goodness. Those shadows do not fill me with confidence... *holds locket* It looks so beautiful when we are in moonlight.
  5. I went to Tesco today, mostly to get an 8 pack of Pepsi Raw mixer cans and some snack food... They had new Lego in stock... 3117City Car 8056 Monster Crab Clash 8188 Flame Blaster All ended up in my basket (x2 because I am an awesome big sister) and now sit built on my "desk" as I ponder their unique parts. Happy me
  6. Hi and thanks. The smaller ship is BubbleMint, its on this forum, MOCpages and Flickr (links in my sig if you want to see a few more pics). I made the flatbed large enough to carry that ship as I have set it as a standard for all my future personal cruiser/racer ships.
  7. TESCO has new Lego! Ben 10 buildable figures. New City Smart Car New Power Miners Atlantis Toy Story I can't promise that the smaller stores have much but the Superstore I went to (Newport SW) had all these on the shelves. They haven't updated the Tesco Direct catalogues yet, but the member of staff I saw by them may have been doing so. I found most Toy Story sets, a handful of Ben 10, the Smart Car, a Power Miner set and on Atlantis set.
  8. Thanks now i need to get down to Argos again (unless the Tesco superstore has it in stock now... Going there today hopefully) I am lucky in having two Argos stores within what one would call a "normal" distance, so if one has no run out of stock I can check there.
  9. I have two more tows to build, a large enclosed cargo box and a quad-cargo frame that can hold four smaller cargo boxes. I have some ideas to try out that may work but might take some effort as I want a lot of the frame to be SNOT but to also be sturdy.
  10. Space Trucking Across the Universe! My created universe needs mass transit for large cargo. So I built a Space Truck. I was originally planning on simply modifying the truck cab that came in the Speed Racer set, however I couldn’t find enough wheels. I slapped some “rockets” in the wheel wells, removed the flip up roof and changed it to static. Then I added a lot of other extras to create the truck you see now. I made this flatbed trailer as a quick extra to add to it for a photo. I want to make two more loads, maybe more. It fits into my universe with the style in which I built it. I love building things Zeerusty More photo's in my flickr photostream
  11. Well, the Liago sets are well known Lego bootlegs. The scads and scads of parts are more than likely from buying a lot of sets, that is how people sell on Bricklink. I'm not sure if this really belongs here...
  12. Make a tomb with all its treasure, or maybe a dragon with it's horde?
  13. I'm glad the storm calmed down, it would have been a wasted trip to miss the eclipse..
  14. Fellowship is bestowed upon members by other fellows. I still have no clue why I got it. I think there is a topic in the Website and Forums forum that'll let you know ranks and post count. However as a member of the ladies group you may want to poke a moderator if certain post related privileges don't activate when you hit the target number. (Just a small tip) Anywho, I hope you have great fun building up your lego collection once again 2010 looks to be a good year for Lego
  15. Hello. Welcome to the forum. I too like Anime (can't join you in Star Wars however) Leaning more towards the Giant Robots, certain Shonen fantasy action series and a bit of guilty pleasure shojo manga, Nausicaa is my favourite Ghibli with The Cat Returnse close second (But not Howel's Moving Castle, book was way better). Post here to get a nifty pink star, like what me and Cutlass_Iz used to have before we joined the fellowship, helps out in the forums to clue in the chaps that we are of the femal persuasion.
  16. Just went into Argos, they have the new catalogues out in my local shop. Not all of the listed items seem to be on the stock database yet though. I was able to get Army Men and find most of the Atlantis sets, however the smaller sub was "Item Does Not Exist" when I searched for it.
  17. I say this is funny but it may only be funny in a British way, and I suppose the delivery of said line was also very important: I purchased The Lego Book from a shop in Cornwall, it was an independent bookseller so the staff know their books/are quite intelligent etc. As I was buying it the lovely lady on the desk warned "It's not really for children you know," when I replied that wasn't a problem because it was for me, Lego is my hobby she replied in a rather amused voice "You loon!" especialy after I made an estimate on how much I had... As I said, it was funnier in person and it also has to be said that when an educated member of the English calls you a loon it is practiacly a compliment . My lovely Aunty also said something un-intendedly funny too. I was showing my Uncle The Lego Book when they came to dinner the other week and while he got very excited to see all the sets he had had (HE HAD THE BLOOMIN' YELLOW CASTLE!!! AND SOLD IT!!!) my Aunty said she was never that interested by Lego, it took too long to build (she is ever so lovely, I cannot stress enough) and there wasn't enough people... Well, after my little brother stopped giggling they suggested I bring my collection down, all 366 + in mixed parts and made figures. We all had a great time making figures of each other (especialy my uncle upon discovering a blonde hair piece -aunty is blond- and my selection of bearded figure heads...) and it was very funny. Humour is so subjective..
  18. Well, I certainly don't have my knife or any other! Sorry, just a little on edge, what with the choppy sea and all the stories Grandma told me... The knife is like a security blanket, only sharp and made of metal... *shrugs*
  19. We might sink? Zachy, you can swim right? I know I can but the sea looks really rough..
  20. Sure Promise, from The Big O OST II (The snazzy one from when CN paid for a second season) I miss that anime.
  21. They should have had a passing mention to Hilary Page but then so should the Lego book Otherwise it was entertaining enough.
  22. Artwork, Artwork, Artwork. Got a theme for it? Go the your local library and get a book full of photos or artwork within that theme. Stuck still? Look up other peoples MOCs and take a few pointer ideas. Still Stuck? Find some music that matches the theme and listen to it without doing anything else. Let the ideas flow in. Then write them down. I have found that my recent-ish purchases of SF artwork along with some Vangelis has fuled my space MOC building. The new photos of Kingdoms alongside some more fantasy adventure soundtracks has pushed me into a castle tangent. I write all my ideas down, with sketches and scribbles and notes. Then when I get time to build I go build. If you are super stuck just go look at your lego, see what parts catch your eye and try and build something from them. Don't stress about getting an entry built asap and let the idea come to you instead of you chasing it. Attract it with some inspirational things and catch it with notes.
  23. Might I introduce Exo-Force, the major reason why I never had a dark ages (the "M" is for Mecha). You might be able to find it somewhere but it ended last year/this year. It was rather good but came to it's natural end. That said another Mecha theme would rock but we might not see a pure mecha theme for a while to come. In the mean time, Google Battletech Lego and bask in the many MOC-ed delights.
  24. Why do they say acronyms as words? Apart from nearly dying of boredom due to the somewhat un-animated (or should we say re-animated) narrator, that was interesting.
  25. It looks like I am going to be buying castle Lego again. Castle really was my first love, as a child I adored history and made Lego castles and knights with diving suit armour. I bought plenty of Knights Kingdom II (even though it seems widely disliked). I am afraid that the Fantasy theme focused far too much on the combat, with poorly designed castles and great big war machines which turned me off collecting castle apart from the odd set every now and then. These new ones look fantastic from the prelims and I the little dragon.
