  1. Well, mine has altered slightly this year. I have made the arms to be yellow with black gloves and the legs are Artic Alpha Team. A pic is attatched below. Thanks
  2. There is one. I can't find any near me at all, no events I can get too and no Lego Shops anywher close to go to It's just me on my lonesome.
  3. I should really buy some Megabloks beyond the battle booster packs and do a review to add to my list. Those Halo sets are a bit too expensive for me, I don't even like the game series so it's not really worth it. Thanks for the weapon pictures!
  4. Well, I have an "in universe" reason for my mixing. Flesh tone figures are Earthicans and yellow figures are Terrans. Way back when first contact was made with an alien race there was a big fuss on Earth and a lot of earth citizens chose to move out of the system to Terra (a specialy "made" planet for those humans who chose to have intelligent discourse with their fellow citizens of the universe) and thus to a different star. Over the course of centuries the skin tone of the Terrans has changed to one better suited to their local star. I have less flesh tone figures due to my smaller licensed collection, this is also explained away by the fact that Earthicans are still quite insular and isolationist in comparison to Terrans, so there are less of them out and about. I like to write stories to go with my MOCs...
  5. Depends. What sort of MOC/Display is it? I use both in mine, but I have an "in universe" excuse for this, so it will fit in.
  6. A "real" book club sounds like a good idea, but sometimes we don't have the time for entire novels, long books and analytical discussion. What with work, school and the brick. Plus the forum would be clogged with discussion of a book each month, we'd need a Books subforum... What I am looking to do is to assemble a list of short fiction, interesting articles and suchlike from the internet, to provide members with a small "reading room", maybe to inspire a new MOC or just while away a half hour or so when there is a lull on the forum. I probably shouldn't have called it a Book Club, but the definition used in my school library was essentialy a group meeting to chat about stuff that was fun to read. Point out the book, the author and a brief plot discription or sum up a magazine article. Then you could go and find the book or magazine if you were interested enough to read more.
  7. That is one freaky creature statue *staying far away from that thing* Maybe we shold all try syncronising our pulling of the statues? Or are the torches heavy enough to make the arms move?
  8. Heh, I read Eragon about 6 years ago. Sadly never been able to read it again. And He Built a Crooked House by Robert A. Heinlein. Hard SF from the master. It's got maths, 4th-Dimensional physics and construction!
  9. Hello. I return once more to the Culture and Mulitmedia sub forum to spread a little more culture. I thought it would be a cool idea for us all to share recommendations of online short fiction. If you can post a link with the title and author and mybe a brief synopsis and I will index it here by genre. To start us off: By the Waters of Babylon by Stephen Vincent Benét. A post apocalyptic tale written in the 30s, quite ahead of it's time. So. Do you have any stories you'd like to share?
  10. Bionicle + Buddies. Gotta love alliteration!
  11. Hmmm, a hard one... I was aways immeresed in Lego as my mother loved it and saw it as the perfect and best value toy. So all I can say is I play with Lego and I will never likely stop. Now, my mum is a great fan of town, the CC houses and the vehicles and actually built my Campervan when I bought it (next she wants to build the Tractor) so I guess some subtle or not so subtle prods along the lines of "What would you build" may help.
  12. I seem to be getting my goth on. Krypteria. If it even counts as goth these days. I have no idea about music based subcultures anymore.
  13. Buildable Action Figures After all, it is what they are.
  14. Use the rotate tool? If that hasn't worked then there is issue with its movement from the building. I found the new rotate tool very good and easy to use. However if I build a section wrong it won't rotate. The problem is you aren't holding the MOC so you don't know where the issue preventing rotation is.
  15. Aren't they mutualy exclusive? If you joined a forum that had a lower age limit of 18 before you were 18 and then posted your real age, wouldn't that be un-intelligent behavior? Then if you compounded that by popping up saying that no one obeys the rule and posting lots of annoying/irrelevant things the moderators would ban you. It would be intelligent and therefore mature behavior if you joined up and carefully avoided mentioning your age and obeyed the other rules as well as you could. I think we would miss out on a lot of cool MOCs and some intelligent discussion if all under 18s were banned, but we would be flooded with immaturity and foolishness if the age limit was lowered. At the moment it seems to be a trickle of unwanted behavior and clearly underage members but to remove an age limit would result in many more.
  16. What could ruin EB? Well, topics like this causing in-fighting and damage to moderator/member relationships? What killed the last forum I used was a mixture of factors, it would crash for a few days at a time, driving good members to other forums. After the crashing and disappearing problem was resolved, argument topics questioning what a "true" member of the group was, what counted and what didn't. Then a certain member started making trouble but they weren't banned, the left only to return to try and drum up support for their "purer" forum on the same subject. A second long term downtime and a glut of new members afterwards alongside a lot of members I liked leaving killed the forum for me. I now know no one and never go there. It's focus is no longer my major interest. The forum before that just upped and died. By the time it was back no one was using it anymore. I don't even buy the magazine it accompanied anymore. Eurobricks has weathered the storms from members, has active moderators and hasn't had a long term crash in the time I have been a member.
  17. Sorry, the character pic really threw it off when I added it, I just never got around to changing it. Lots of Kudos for you my good walrus. I love the Sandman books and more comic book quotes will be popping up in the near future.
  18. 1 to 3. First thing in the morning I wake up, put my bed away and dress, then I plug in the wifi and settle down infront of cheesy cartoons with my laptop. I have three tabs on firefox: One for Lego, one for Webcomics and one for Blogs/News sites. I then read the webcomics that update, check the ones without a schedual and load Brothers Brick, then on to Eurobricks. I am online about an hour and a half in the morning. After I get home from work I check my e-mail, any late updating webcomics and Eurobricks. That can be about half an hour to an hour. After that I do other stuff. Then I go online at 9pm til 11pm and Eurobricks is always in my browser. Not as bad as you guys.
  19. I should make a more clear explanation of my title: On the Internet nobody knows you are a goat: I alluded to a famous cartoon and a pet goat logging on as a user instead of a human. I signed off the post with a *bleat* suggesting that I too am a goat. Svelt handily re-titled me and someone else tagged me with an MSN emoticon goat I had posted alongside some other goat pictures when I noticed my new title.
  20. The loft is the same as being outside and there is 6 inches of snow on the ground... I would love to go up but all the heat in the house would be sucked through and out of the roof. (Husa for poor insulation!). I have at least five technic sets from the 80s in the drawer. The car just stuck in my mind because it is the coolest in my mind.
  21. 8865 Test Car From 1988, the year I was born. Given to me by my Uncle who as far as I can tell had loads of 70s and early 80s system that he sold for a mountain bike and extra money. He kept the technic and a few years ago gave it to me. The crime is I have nowhere to display so it is sat in a draw that my youger siblings cannot access. I may have older sets than that in that draw but it's too cold to go and look.
  22. Ever so sorry if my signature was causing alarm or distress *dark look* I have altered it as I was a little bored of using Electric Light Orchestra's Prelude to Time as my signature. Plus I have tidied it up a little. I think the character image breaks up my post text and my signature text quite nicely. Of course as soon as the game ends the picture will go. Who knows what I will quote next time. (Kudos to anyone who know the source of my current sig quote). I think signatures are always a delicate subject on boards the internet over, as everyone has a different idea about what should and shouldn't occur. Eurobricks sits in a nice spot with it's rules and everyone seem's to do their best in obeying the rules.
  23. Hello. As a new member you probably don't know how to use the search functions of this board, so here is a link to what is essentialy the index of clone brand related topics *click me*. There are many and varied arguments both for and against Clone Brands and they will mostly be represented in the reviews and discussions linked in the index. I don't think I have seen an introduction thread from yourself, so: Welcome to the forums and enjoy yourself. You can introduce yourself here.
  24. I just linked it for the funny and creative video.. Well, maybe it would be better if it was an app for a smart phone?
  25. Ooo, hey weren't there some new ones this year in the new themes? I would get them listed (links and all) but uni is closed for the morning so I have to go to work. I do know that there is one in Atlantis, one in Toy Story and possibly one in Town.
