  1. Um... Why? The whole point of Lego is to take it apart and build something new. Glueing will defeat the purpose. Using the wrong sort of adhesive could damage the plastic and stuck together sets would be worth nothing to anyone... Not to mention the uproar that it will cause. I will be keeping an eye on this thread to make sure it doesn't get out of hand. Please fill us in on why you think glueing your sets is a good idea?
  2. Hello, I am a traveller by the name of Tnimreppep, I have a rather useful dijin. Just passing through Persia, looking for something fun to do
  3. Male or Femals Superhero mask or hair Heroic with printed mask any colourscheme Cape, "type" appropriate weapon/shield
  4. Sadly I think Smith's keep theirs behind the desk :(, I walked past my local today and noticed them on the shelf (do you know how unbearable that was! I so wanted to get at least one bag... but i have a box on its way. Argh!) behind the desk, with the Go-Gos and stickers..
  5. I would say a Male Rockstar, with long hair, with classic Rock! Expression, in Dark Red and black. With a Guitar!
  6. I am not saying I think people shouldn't use the barcodes. What I am saying is someone on eBay would much rather see that the figure they want is there for sale and that they are certainly going to get the exact one. Not everyone is a Lego nerd. Many parents can't tell the difference between some Mega brands NeoShifters and a Bionicle.. A whole pile of AFOLs must be a bit dis-connected if they'll buy Best Lock or Sluban weapons sprues for twice the price of the set they come in (not to mention added p&p). Yes, we all know the barcodes, but what about some of the other Lego fan communities out there? Well, whutevah. I am getting a boxload, thus making it a moot point. I am sure someone would be happy to pay for the figures I do not want and I am even more sure that at one or both of the two comic cons I am going too in the next few week will have someone selling the figures and the opened figures at different prices...
  7. The second barcode is nothing but a tracker for the factory. Yes it allows those in the know to get exactly what they want (if they have a barcode reader or fantastic matching skills and a long suffering cash desk operator who'll tolerate someone stood there molesting their display box contents) and online it will be even less popular and might lead to trouble with TLG. Yes it is a way to beat the system, but it isn't one they want shouted all over eBay where Joe Mundy can find out for himself. I still can't see anyone wanting to pay for a blind bagged figure the seller assures them is the one they want. If these were action figures, packaging makes a difference. However they are trading figures... Case in point: Final Fantasy trading figures, they come in blind boxes I can buy for £2. The opened figures sell for £3, because you can choose a Sephiroth instead of yet another Tidus in the blind box (it is a good job so many of my friends like Tidus so I could offload the extras!). Or the phone charm figures, £2 from the egg or £3 out. Then again I can buy the full set for £20 but minus the secret figure or the full-full set with secret figure for £25... So many options!
  8. With blind bagged things people prefer to buy specifics opened to ensure they are getting exactly what they want. If I were to list on eBay a minifig bag, for say £2 plus the postage and say "This is a spaceman figure, the barcode says so" no one will want it, they too can take the risk for less in WHSmiths or Argos or TRU. If I were to list a spaceman figure for the exact price, minus bag, they'd know they were getting it and would be more likely to purchse it. People go and buy trading figures on the internet to get the figures they need to finish their collection, or to build the army they desire. Not to take a chance.
  9. I went to Kerrison Toys after it came up in a google search. Hope it helps!
  10. If it was the Roman ship, I think that is the only set in that theme. They could do with taking down unneeded arrows... Thanks for the info Larry, I will have to do some more in depth digging to see what I can turn up
  11. Well, Whitefang, that was very useful I will have to add my stats to yours once my box arrives (as of now it has a status of Despatched ). Thank you for this comprehensive review.
  12. Barcode matching isn't my plan and turning a profit is far from expected. I'm going to open the bags and see what I get, then offload the figures I do not want multiples of on the trade forums. The thing about blind bagged is the sealed bag won't sell that well to people when they can go to a shop and buy one, I can sell the open ones better. I knew this would never be an investment, but buying a box is a one off and I will get what I want (a one off each series, unless TLG sort out distribution). -_-;; I think I am a bit mad...
  13. Count me and my dijin in! "Yes, this should be amusing" I need to figure out how to play mafia games!
  14. I just bought a box of 60 for £99.99... Am I insane? I think so... Anyway, I will post the results when the box arrives. Depending on what is in there, I'll be selling spares I do not wish to keep and possibly a set of 16! (Disclaimer: I can't promise what I will be selling until I open the box in 5-7 days...)
  15. Just remember that the money saved on giving up smokes can now be spent on ABS bricks Good on you for quitting and welcome to a fun addiction hobby. Enjoy the forums :)
  16. Skalldyr! Smoking Crab is just so cool. I loved seeing it around the forum
  17. Topics merged Gentlemen. Use the search function as best as you can when making a thread on something popular!
  18. I have wanted to use the green heads for a while now, and the Dollar Bill hair seemed perfect for a dijin. Glad you like it
  19. Sorry about the lateness, also the bad image, no batteries and little time left! So I became a warrior and got myslef a green dijin in a bottle
  20. William, help me shove the slope down! *I'd like to push the off coloured slope!*
  21. Strange things from Exotic Lands.... My entry is an Easter Egg extraveganza. Magic, fantasy, time travel... It's all subjective in an exotic eastern bazzar.
  22. Is the slope that is a different shade a clue? Too bad we do not have a camera to see what the apperition is.
  23. Uh Oh. This might get ugly. Hello new member. This "cheap plastic" argument has been going for quite some time now and no one can agree on anything. The figures may or may not be of lower quality, it is all a personal choice. Feel free to use it as a cheaper way to get rarer figures or, don't get them due to perceived quality issues. Just some things to note: Neck Marks were added by an older machine, no neck mark is not a sign of "bad quality". The Lego stamp inside the figure arm is a hallmark like those on studs, recently added for whatever reason. There might be colouring issues, nothing to do with the plastic itself. This goes for everyone. If you want to talk about cheaper quality plastic, I have a bucket of Best Lock figures for your comparison...
  24. Right oh! Any Ideas William? Oh great voice in the sky, what is the statue like at this moment in time?
  25. Does anyone have any ideas about the East Library!? If you can hear us! Shout out suggestions!
